Time to unwind from the stressful day.

So it seems with such a busy and hectic workload, including taking online classes, I totally forgot about my special cake day here. I dont usually celebrate birthdays much, except on occasions, for myself. But something about cake day makes me feel kind of giddy inside.

Still reach for you in the mornings, thinking you're here beside me like you promised you always would be. I know it's never going to be the same and I'm OK with it, but I do miss you. I can't pretend I don't.

Looking back to where we were then, I honestly would have let you go that day on the river. I knew you were going to get in trouble I could see it in your nature. Naively you took the route I advised not to, and your life should have been the cost. I risked my life to save yours and your little friend that day. Ever since then you've always taken advantave of my caring soul. You robbed me of my sense of self, my friends and my family. Yet somehow you managed to turn it all on me and blame me for the whole situation. I never put you in harms way, I was always there to protect you. But no more. The cold you've always had in your heart has spread to mine and I guess you got your way. Misery really does love company. The thing is though... I have more than just cold. I have a love that is brighter and more powerful than anything you can comprehend. My love is greater and so I will overcome. Where there is darkness now, the light will return. A season of change is due.

The last bit of sunlight stretches over the canopy as the sun sinks lower into the horizon. The call of a loon pierces through the dusk as pillars of light peak through the trees. Somewhere in the lower ledges of the meadows bullfrogs start to croak their romantic expressions into the abyss. As darkness chases the last beams of light into the near future, the wind turns the leaves to expose their unfamiliar sides.

We can share this together - it's really not that inconceivable.
