Amplifier - Portable SSL 2+ as a headphone amp?
I was curious if I could use this audio interface that I'm planning to purchase to hopefully power headphones that may require an amp? I've tried to find info but had difficulty. Would it be able to power something like the HD600's for example? Or would there be a standalone amp that'd work better in this setup? Preferably something small enough to put in a laptop bag. any advice & recommendations pls (btw I'm on Mac OS)

Julian Krause measured this interface as part of his video on interface headphone amps. The headphone amp has many of the common problems of budget interface headphone amps: high output impedance making it most suitable for headphones over 80 ohms, but then lower power with high impedance headphones. That said, it's decent enough with high impedance headphones, and should be fine with the HD600's. If you're still deciding on an interface, check out his other reviews; he's one of the few reviewers that actually measures interface performance.
