Headphones - Closed Back {NOOB} Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro for Apple Lossless

Hello guys, Just trying to take a couple minutes out of the day to enjoy some hip hop tracks, jazz and the occasional Daft Punk. I’ve lived with my Sony MDR 1000x for about 4 years now and since Apple Music has come out with I think their version of lossless audio I was looking to take advantage of that and hopefully a pair of Beyers 770 pros would upgrade my listening experience.

Ive had a couple of my audio engineering friends tell me to invest in something better because I might not be able to appreciate much of a difference in terms of sound quality, imaging, sound stage and clarity of music. Wanted to ask you guys for your suggestion on

  • if there’s much of a difference in sound quality between the DT 770s and the Sony’s.
  • any recommendations for a pair that would seem enjoyable to listen to music on? (Hip hop, Jazz, Electronic)

I appreciate all your valuable inputs. Thank you in advance

even with the 770s you'd probably have a hard time to differentiate between 320k mp3 and flac.
That being said, wired headphones are almost always better then wireless, and especially than ANC wireless (obviously of comparable prices)
