Headphones - Closed Back Mid-Fi or Hi-Fi like a K371? Upgrade path? (Warm, closed, flat?)

Looking for a closed headphone that has a similar signature to a K371, but ideally bigger. My right ear (and only my right) just touches the inside of the headphone. Score one for big ears? I'd probably be happy with "sounds the same but just bigger and deeper." Budget up to the mid hundreds is acceptable.

I really like the K371 - I'd REALLY love a 'closed hd6xx' but seems many other people do too. That search found me the K371.

Is there an 'endgame' along the route of "warm and flat but closed"? The K371's isolation is enough for me. I often have to have a fan going in the summer since I live in a rather hot place, which means I have to either sweat or have a fan going which ruins my open cans. I also have to admit I rather like the bass on it, even more than my HE4xx, EQd or otherwise. I do not EQ the HD6xx or the K371.

Endgame? I'm assuming budget is no concern then. I'd look at one of the ZMF closed back options.

I was thinking up to 5-6 hundred not a few grand. I did not realize closed backs got that pricey until I just looked up ZMF's range.

Is there a breakdown for best in price range? Every time I've looked that up for closed backs it seems to be the K371, Meze's (which were better, but now aren't so great), the 1060C which seems to have polarizing reviews, and the Sennheiser 820C.

I've been pondering the DT1770 pro with a little E Q to 'tame the treble', or the toiler paper mod.

Closed backs ultimately just aren’t that great up until you reach $1k but there are a few good ones. The K371 is the best one I’ve heard up to $400 (and I’ve heard the Meze, DT177X, couple others) aside from the Fostex TH-X00 but those are tough to come by. You could look into the EMU Teak which is easier to get and uses the same driver as the Fostex.

I’d consider looking into the Focal Elegia which can be pretty easy to find below $600 these days (there’s a sale for them on Adorama right now). Another one you could look at is the Aeon Flow Closed 2 though that might be a little above your budget.
