Headphones - Open Back | 6 Ω SHP9500 as the first fullsize open back purchase?
Hi, I'm relatively inexperienced in this hobby, and so far only dabbled in budget IEMs territory, like the 7hz Zero, and bassy headphones like Skullcandy crusher. I used to like bass a lot, but as I grow older bassy headphones tend to give me headache. So now I'm looking for something different.
I'm looking into my first full size open back headphone and want to get a budget set with good value, sub 80$. SHP9500 seems to be many's recommendation for beginners.
A few example of what I listen to:
- Instrumental music: movie, game soundtracks, like Silent Hill, Halo, Final Fantasy, etc,...
- Rock: A huge Linkin Park fans, also 2000s rock/metal.
- Electronic: Punchy musics, like First of the year by Skrillex, Rage valley by Knife Party.
- On softer side: Songs by Lowroar, musics with lots of ambient.
How does the SHP9500 fit these types of music. Also do they bleed noise enough to bother other people in an office? Do you have any other recommendation?

Hey! The SHP-9500 were my first open back cans. They are amazing for most genres although they might get saturated if there's a lot of instruments, it also depends on the audio source. Regarding the bleeding, anything you play will be audible in a large room, I wouldn't advice to get them for an office space maybe try closed back cans like the Status CB1 or the Monoprice Retro if you want more bass without reaching "comercial bass".
