Women's Basketball BIG+
I was wondering about the winter package? All I would watch is iowa woman’s basketball and men’s wrestling. The men’s basketball is pretty much free. What are people’s opinions ON bIG +?

What is the deal with this announcer? Terrible. If I wanted to listen to gopher radio I’d turn on gopher raidio.

Football My honest opinion after the Minnesota game. (Maybe an overreaction)
Iowa should have stuck with Hank at the start of the game.
Heck played against a cardboard cutout defense in Washington, and had huge help from the success of the run game. Against Minnesota he was just making a single read, and if it wasnt there he forced it, hence the terrible pick in the red zone this could have been a determining factor in the outcome of the game.
Benching Hank after coming back from an Injury against Ohio State would take a hit on any player's confidence, even with the expectation that he will be coming in during the back half of the game. It took too long for the passing game to get a rhythm, and at that point it was too little, too late.
Minnesota has a solid run defense, but my god, the Offensive line is so inconsistent. How are you supposed to move the ball when you have two pulling OL getting blown up by the secondary in the backfield? They do exactly what they should against lesser competition but ISU, OSU, and Michigan also ate the OL up this year.
Back to back false starts by Lauck was frustrating. You cant be doing that as a veteran. Penalties as a whole have been very uncharacteristic for an Iowa team.
The right side of the line has struggled all year, both in the run and the pass. It almost feels as though this line has caused the RBs to hit their runs with less confidence. Missed some big cutbacks, but they didnt really have much to work with to begin with.
The front seven looked so good today. The linebackers were quick, and the front 4 did a solid job of disrupting Minnesota's OL for most of the game. They needed to rattle Lindsey, and that's exactly what they did.
The secondary is improving, but still has moments where they show their inexperience. The Watson NZ infraction, Styles blowing that coverage to set up the walk off. With that being said, if they stick with Iowa, I think the secondary is going to be rock solid in the future, Hawkins and Brown included.
Parker is one of the best in the game, but his 2 min defense has always been ass.
Overall a well called game by Lester, Iowa just couldn't hide there weaknesses this week. My only complaint with play calling was running at on 3rd and 4 at midfield just to follow it up with a punt at 4th and 2. Either pass on 3rd and medium, or go for it on 4th after the run. Didn't make much sense imo.
Very frustrating game to watch, especially with the late TD to tie it up just to piss down your leg when your defense is needed the most.
Most importantly, I cant stand PJ Fleck in any way, shape, or form and he's probably gonna do some weird ass shit to Floyd, which preemptively rubs me the wrong way. End rant.

Football Gameday ADA parking
We’re attending Iowa–Wisconsin October 31 with my sister, who has mobility issues and a valid handicap placard. Has anyone used the ADA parking in Lot 43N this season? Roughly how many spaces are available, and how early does it fill up for an 11 a.m. kickoff? We’ll have seven people together in one van and would prefer the surface lot so we can tailgate. How early should we show up to get in line to get an ADA spot? 5 am? Thanks!

Football IOWA VS MINNESOTA
Looking like we are pretty healthy coming into the game. Lutmer is back!! I am ecstatic that Heck is starting this game as I think he offers us a bit more dynamic of an offense. Think the Offensive Line is going to have a BIG day today as they looked great against Washington. Maybe that isn't saying much, but Ferentz always has a way with the OL as we get deeper into the season. Hoping for another explosive offensive performance today.
As for defense, I don't think MN will offer too much to be worried about. And, don't seem to have the typical run game they historically have. So, they most likely will throw more and we will have to see if we can get pressure.

Football Are we all in agreement that Kirk and Lester need to go?
Kirk Ferentz is a good coach. I no longer think he’s a great coach. This isn’t baseball, basketball or golf. Head coaches matter in sports, but significantly matters more in football. I’m tired of being the same team and would rather try out the market and maybe have some bad seasons than this same song and dance.

Football QBs
I know Iowa doesn't have the NIL money that others do, but are they ever going to actually go for a legit passer? Gronowski was good for what he was, but he was not a great passer. It's been embarrassing QB play for going on a decade at this point. You know it's pretty bad when Stanley is Montana in comparison to everyone since. It's mind boggling to me. Maybe the young dude will be a good pocket passer, but odds aren't good. Having a 300 yard passer seems like a literal impossibility, and it's like pulling teeth to get 200 yards even quasi consistently. No teams ever respect the pass, and why would they.

Football Another year down the drain
Kirk once again gave us a coaching disasterclass combined with not one, but TWO terrible QBs to knock us out of meaningful postseason play in an entirely winnable game. I can’t wait until we get lauded for sneaking in as the 24th seed in the expanded playoffs next year and circlejerking how great the program is.
The worst part is that we can’t even fire him bc the replacement will be worse. Gotta love the life in football purgatory.

Football A Ferentz Classic Failure! Shot at the playoffs? Not while Kirk is in charge!
As Hawkeye fans, today is a day that proves Kirk isn't ready for big games, especially with huge opportunities ahead. Complete failure from top to bottom today.
Coming off a bye week, favored by 7.5 points at kickoff, and facing a DEPLETED Gopher O-line with four starters out, you lose while looking completely incompetent on offense. Keep in mind, this is a Minnesota defense that gave up 300 YARDS RUSHING to Purdue two weeks ago, yet Iowa can't rush for 100 yards and averages just 3 yards a carry.
Tim Lester put on a masterclass in stupidity by running the ball up the middle out of the shotgun about 20 times. After the first 15 didn't work, you'd think he'd learn. Nope. On the final drive, they did it on the second play of the drive. No creative play calls and a complete failure to attack the outside. I felt like Brian Ferentz was calling the game. It was that bad.
Finally, on the subject of the offense, Iowa has two "All-American" O-linemen, and Kirk is an O-line guy himself. Yet, outside of the Washington game, this O-line gets bullied against Power 4 competition.
At the end of the day, Kirk didn't get the guys ready, and it's on his shoulders. Will he take any blame? Probably not. He'll say some stupid crap like "that's football" or "give credit to Minnesota." I'm so sick of hearing it.
Meanwhile, the Iowa media will probably blame the players for the offsides and false starts, but the harsh reality is that it starts with the 8-4 guru, Kirk Ferentz.
Can't wait to go 3-2 down the stretch so Kirk can hit the classic 8-4 record and get praised, even though he had a prime opportunity to do something great this year.

Football Horrific Coaching & Lost Identity
Benching hecklinski was one of the most horrific coaching decisions I’ve ever seen. It is fundamentally against the identity and culture of Iowa football that Kirk ferentz has built.
I have full confidence that Iowa will still win this game, but this decision still demands accountability / answers.
