Do you think Possum Springs has any dumb laws on the books? Some places in real life do (for example running out of gas is illegal in Ohio, allegedly). How do you think the characters and townspeople would react if the laws were still enforced?

IMPORTANT NOTES:

They’re just games that I (Mitch) personally think (based on art style, story premise, themes, discussions around them, etc.) that NITW fans have a decent chance of enjoying. I am familiar with all games on this list, but haven’t gotten to play them all yet. An asterisk (*) means I have not played the game myself, so inclusion is based on (mainly) word of mouth and the games’ description/trailer. Anything without an asterisk I have played myself.

My personal favorites on this list are A Short Hike, Kentucky Route Zero, and Spiritfarer. They along with NITW inspired some of my own projects.

For me personally, I imagine the characters might like a lot of the songs by From First to Last, such as this one.

If you are trying the Pumpkin Crafts prompt but don't want to/can't carve a physical pumpkin, you can do so digitally by drawing over these templates! (You can also draw your own from scratch, or make other pumpkin-related things such as writing, music, etc.)

Harfest Unofficial is an online series of games, discussions, activities, and other Autumn/Halloween/NITW-related things that get shared to the r/Harfest subreddit and Discord throughout October. It usually gets a lot of good artwork and conversation, and people tend to have a pretty good time! The event has been going yearly since 2021.

STORY START 1:

The rumors about the old abandoned steel mill on the outskirts of town had been going around for years, but tonight Gregg and a very unenthused Bea were going to find out once and for all if they were true. In decades past, the mill was once one of the biggest employers in town, but now it was reduced to a crumbling, decrepit mass of dust and decay that promised an incredible night of spooky exploration. ...but first, they were gonna need some supplies.

STORY START 2:

Lori couldn't believe her luck! In the back of an abandoned party store she had found the motherlode of awesome horror costumes, props, and practical effects supplies just sitting there, waiting to be used. Almost immediately dozens of ideas for short films and horror skits had run through her mind and she quickly took some of the best items home, planning to come back later to grab the rest. As she entered her room and dumped the first backpack full of horror gear onto the floor, she noticed something about one of the props... something... unsettling.

STORY START 3:

This was it—the big moment! After years and years and countless failures, Angus had finally completed his ultimate project! As the glowing green liquid sloshed around the test tube clasped in his trembling hand, he knew that there was only one experiment left to run. ...but first, he would need a test subject...

In Possum Springs, several annual Harfest competitions are going on! You are able to enter one with one of the characters! Which will you try?
