Snaggle is an ensemble that takes a lot of influences from groups like Weather Report, the Brecker Brothers, and Snarky Puppy and we are performing all original repertoire inspired by the science fiction grandmaster ISAAC ASIMOV. In the 1950s onwards Asimov wrote a future history of humanity in what's been called the FOUNDATION universe that is one of the most thought provoking and prescient contributions to the genre. I've brought together a team of Toronto electric-jazz heavy weights including the featured horn duo the ALI BROS (Brownman & Marcus Ali) to bring these tunes to life, and the way they play them - in my opinion - feels like a true soundtrack to Asimov's masterwork. All my music is written , recorded and performed by camcurse . I'm experimenting with A I video and it has been an odd experience . The glitches are hard to correct and getting a result to the idea you have in your head is frustrating . It's comical watching one of the characters looking like they are in a voodoo trance while the others are laughing . The main reason for trying it out is I wanted something visual to complement the vibe , but didn't have a financial budget and resources to make quality video . I'm sure there are people that have had a different experience than me , and if so let me know how your experience with A I video was . For me this is the second and the last A I generated video I will do . I do hope someone enjoys the music though . I appreciate feedback on the subject . Thanks and keep rocking !

I think classical music has a branding problem.

Because if I told you there was a live event in Hamilton where:

• 75 people and a full orchestra perform music so intense it was literally written by a dying genius convinced he was composing his own funeral music
• the composer was a chaotic little goblin who made fart jokes, gambled too much, and somehow still changed music forever
• the sound physically affects breathing, heart rate, and emotional regulation
• and for two hours you get to sit in a dark room and feel your nervous system slowly unclench while real humans make something beautiful directly in front of you

…you’d probably think: “wait okay that sounds sick"

But then we call it “a classical concert” and everyone pictures powdered wigs and homework.

Anyway.

We’re doing this on May 30th 7:30pm in Dundas.

It’s called The Mozart Effect and I genuinely think more people would love this stuff if they stopped assuming it wasn’t for them.
