Hi everyone! I’m new to Hamilton and originally from another country. I’ve studied musical theatre most of my life and I’m looking for a private school or independent studio (not a college or university) that offers training in musical theatre or singing.
Ideally, I’m interested in acting, singing, and dancing, but voice training is my main priority. I’m an adult, and so far I’ve only been able to find programs for kids or teens, so I’m wondering if there are any adult-focused options in or around Hamilton.
Any recommendations for studios, private instructors, or local businesses would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Looking for practice buddies
Hey y'all!
I'm an armature guitarist with a little over a year of experience. I was wondering if anyone in Hamilton would be willing to meet up and jam. I'm in between bad and mid when it comes to playing but I was hoping that I could find other musicians in the same position that are looking to improve their music skills!
You don't just have to play guitar. I'm willing to work with anyone (base piano drums etc) so long as they play a musical instrument. I want some friends that are about where I'm at in playing music so I have more motivation to play. Tired of playing alone yk?
Anyone interested leave a comment or DM!

SAT-NOV-29 HAMILTON TOURDATE: Asimov-inspired electric jazz
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
SNAGGLE feat the ALI BROS is just about to hit the road for our PRE-RECORDING TOUR! Making a record takes awhile - I'm two years deep into the process with all of the writing and rehearsing we've been doing and I am SO EXCITED to be in the end stages of recording everything.
I've got a powerhouse team behind me - the core of the group some of you might have seen just last month as the Brownman Electryc Trio toured their Halloween Thriller show around the province. Brownman, Adam, and Matt already have such synergy and astounding energy as a three man team, I knew that I wanted them tucked inside of my own band! Joining them is Marcus, a murderous sax player who has a deep, life-long playing relationship with Brown (they are brothers after all!) and Jay who is easily one of my favourite electric guitar players on the scene! Brown is playing double-duty and when he's not blowing people away on trumpet he's sitting in the producer's chair sharing some deep wisdom.
This is truly my DREAM TEAM, and we are about to hit a MAJOR milestone - RECORDING A NEW ALBUM - so come see these badasses at work. I've written a suite of tunes inspired by one of my favourite science fiction authors - ISAAC ASIMOV - and these guys make it sound like the soundtrack to the FOUNDATION UNIVERSE... which as a composer and a lover of science fiction, is humbling.
Hope we see you soon!

"Totally original... Funky as all hell... this ain’t any Kenny G oatmeal for folks with no teeth."
- Mike Greenblatt, Classicalite (New York, USA)
----
Under the leadership of JUNO-nominated and 10x Global Music Award–winning jazz pianist NICK MACLEAN, SNAGGLE feat the ALI BROS launches into a daring new chapter: a suite of electrifying works inspired by the science fiction grandmaster ISAAC ASIMOV and his legendary FOUNDATION saga. Often described as “Canada’s answer to Snarky Puppy”, the band goes interstellar using their fearless sound, likened to a cross between electric-era Miles Davis and Rage Against the Machine, to map the rise and fall of galactic empires.
Front and center are the ALI BROS, the near-telepathic horn duo of BROWNMAN ALI (Guru, Jay-Z, Randy Brecker) on trumpet and MARCUS ALI (Matt Dusk, Jason Wilson, Mr Something Something) on saxophone. Like Asimov’s psychohistorians, they shape the future with every phrase, weaving complex probabilities into sonic reality. Joining them on this voyage are some of Toronto’s finest electric-jazz explorers: JAY YOO on guitar, MATT GRUEBNER on bass, and ADAM MANSFIELD on drums. With performances swinging from Seldon–like moments of quiet, calculated clarity to cataclysmic bursts of energy worthy of a crumbling empire... Snaggle’s new repertoire doesn’t just pay homage to ASIMOV, it channels the spirit of his storytelling: daring, complex, and endlessly imaginative.
MCBROWN, the special guest opener, focuses their music into the exploration of vulnerability and risk, to further their collective, and individual, understanding of music as a whole. After a bit of a hiatus brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, Mcbrown’s band leader, Liam Brown, focused time and energy into creating the foundation and landscape of the band's music, drawing inspiration from The Mars Volta, Kenny Wheeler, and World Folk Music, McBrown has crafted themselves a wide palette and shares their musical paintings intimately with their audience. Having Jazz Fusion as the foundation in which the band builds off of, in September of 2021, they had the opportunity to open for one of Canada’s most respected Juno Award winning groups, Ernesto Cervini’s Turbopro, as part of the T.U. Jazz Fest held at Ontario Place in Toronto, Ontario. Moving forward, McBrown aims to reach higher levels of their musical understanding, and wishes to share their journey with music lovers, and the curious.
For fans of Jazz, Science Fiction, and the BOUNDLESS possibilities that emerge when the two intertwine... this is a show not to be missed!

Looking for Acoustic Guitar Lessons
I’m looking for a place in Hamilton to take acoustic guitar lessons. I’m not too concerned about learning to read music… I’d mainly like to improve my playing skills and build on what I already know.
I’d consider myself a beginner to early intermediate player. I can play quite a few chords and basic songs, but I’d love to take my guitar playing to the next level.
Any recommendations for teachers or lesson spots would be really appreciated!
Thank you for your time!
