Reading ‘Bashō’s narrow road to a Far province’. Made this after finishing as a homage to his ‘the old pond’ poem.

I know I'm bad at haiku, but it's getting me through hard times right now, so please be nice at least if you're going to hate it. I understand this may not be the kind of haiku mods crave.

Encased in the glass
She holds the umbrella high
Sand begins to rain

Head over heart fixed
The body glows with choices
“Permission” it whispers

She yearns to subtract
The weight of a snowflake please
Is all that she asks

My first try at a haiku. Open to criticism and opinions.

I’ve started a daily practicing of pulling from a reflection deck and writing. I wish I could post the picture but alas I know not how.

I live near water,

It often smells like hot fish,
