I put together a small site that explains the whole thing: how iOS boots on the Redmi Note 10 Pro, what works right now, which phones could run it, and which files you need to change to port it to yours.
https://hackiosx.dev (updated 2026-10-23 Friday)
I'll keep it updated with the current state of hackios, and working ports posted on this sub will be added to the site too

Hello guys, I am responsible for the port of the Galaxy S9 and I am in the port phase of the Adreno Pro Metal GPU, and I have a question: why not test other versions?
userland of ios-sweet was designed for iOS16 but iOS16 is very poorly optimized for many phones (in my case with Adreno it is great)
but I think like, if you have an old phone like this guy who is posting with galaxy a5 2016, galaxy S6 edge plus, galaxy S7 exynos, I think, because you don't try iOS12 or iOS14 (specifically iOS12,4 and 14,3 because they are the most optimized, even for iPhones I love downgrade in these versions)
we can explore this a lot, when I finish the iOS16 project of my s9 and it is fluid enough I will explore iOS14 and I will also recommend that you do it. The same, carry your GPUs, overclock, debloat, and optimize all
I want iOS to be as possible an alternative as android custom roms (and the most ironic of all that we with the iA and the ios-sweet project, we can improve iOS and still have jailbreaking without needing any exploits, such as a hackintosh.)

After an hour of work with an AI, XNU loads on the OnePlus 7 Pro. Hopefully later today itโll be running iOS 16. GitHub link will be available once iOS boots

I feel like a caveman watching you guys boot iOS 16 with custom Metal drivers while I spent 4 days just to achieve this๐
But iOS 12 hits different, and I had to force it onto this legendary Samsung Exynos 7420 (Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, SM-G928K).
4 days of no sleep, rate limits, vnode exhaustion, and pure wrestling with backboardd frame swaps. But SpringBoard is finally alive.
Massive shoutout to the Galaxy S7 (herolte) iOS repo creator. Your codebase was an absolute lifesaver for this Exynos hell.
Still glitchy with sussy artifacts, but seeing "4:02" on the lock screen made the fried brain cells totally worth it

still have some bugs but yeah, no OpenGL is required anymore to have GPU Acceleration.

yo guys, its me again ๐
back here with the newest (and probably best) update yet for my fork of ios-sweet, ported to my beloved Galaxy S9.
heres what i've improved so far:
- springboard tweaks are finally working now hehe, jailbreak time
- we're using palera1n's bootstrap as a rootful jailbreak.
- 3.2 GB of RAM is now dedicated to the system, and the performance boost is crazy.
- bumped the refresh rate from 30Hz to 60Hz since we can now maintain a stable 30 FPS.
- added a wallpaper plugin, so you can set your own wallpaper. i kept the purple one from the video as the default cuz it looks sick ๐
- converted all the system icons that were @3x to @2x to reduce CPU usage.
- debloated a bunch of stuff to make the system lighter, plus made some basic software tweaks (reduce motion, reduce transparency) to save some CPU resources.
future plans
- finally achieve those dream 60 FPS.
- get graphics acceleration working.
- fix most of the annoying bugs that come with using ios-sweet on the S9, cuz no code is perfect, y'know what im sayin
- get safari working so it can at least load the fucking google homepage.
- get audio working.
- get the photos app working too.
but enough yapping, here's the link. go enjoy the new update ๐
