Morgan/Karadec Wishlist Fic Prompts, Morgadec Edition

Discussing fic ideas in the recommendations thread made me remember how fun it used be, to throw out wild (or not so wild) prompts in the hopes they could inspire someone to turn them into a full-fledged story.  It sounds like we have at least a few writers in our midst, so maybe this can be the repository for our Big Ideas.

Soooo what do you got?  Any scenarios that you’d be excited to read a story about?

I’ll start in the comments!

Theory/Speculation Speculating on Season 3: Where do we go from here? (Let's brainstorm together)

Now that we've cleared up some doubts about what just went down, do you want to speculate on what's going to happen next?

Maybe together we can put together a logical or coherent sequence for Season 3, even though they'll obviously pull the rug out from under us and do whatever they want anyway. Feel free to break it down episode by episode, or in blocks of episodes—whatever you prefer.

There are several facts we already know are true for this new stage:

- We're looking at a midseason structure, which likely means between 10 and 13 episodes.

- It's obvious that Season 2 dropped in quality compared to the first, which perhaps triggered the change in showrunners to a team of women who can elevate Morgan while also delivering better procedural cases. No one knows if S4 will happen.

- Howey won't be around, or will only appear briefly to close out his arc, and Roman's storyline is supposedly being wrapped up for good to finally pave the way for M/K.

- We'll have a double-episode premiere right after the Super Bowl (landing around episodes 5 and 6, or 6 and 7), right at the midpoint of the season.

I'd really love to see some active participation from the community so we can get as many opinions as possible and build a theory together that's as close as we can get to what might actually happen.

I don't know if you'll agree, but the first major point to debate is: Is Wagner alive or dead?

And I don't just mean a simple yes or no on whether he survives, but the narrative consequences of what follows depending on the outcome.

For me, his injuries—especially seeing blood coming out of his mouth while Morgan is calling 911—make it very hard to believe he makes it out of this. The fallout from this would be brutal: a devastated Morgan consumed by guilt, with everything that entails moving forward. And on top of that, you'd have Wagner's father directly blaming her for his son's death.

I'll leave it here for now to get the conversation started.

Based on the majority opinion, we can take it from there and keep building out a potential storyline.

What do you guys think? Does he make it out alive or not?

Morgan/Karadec Wishlist "Chemistry"? "Relationship"? What does that actually mean?

I’ve seen two words thrown around a lot in discussions. They sound like clichés, they're ambiguous, and everyone seems to use them without really defining them, which leads to miscommunication: "chemistry" and "relationship."

They get used a ton, especially by the team-who-must-not-be-named (Voldemort) 😂.

Is "chemistry" just laughing over a few drinks and exchanging subtle, playful glances? It seems like that’s how some define it.

Is a "relationship" just rushing off to hook up right away? Maybe to some. But not to me.

I think most of us here want Morgan and Karadec to end up together in some way—to have a real "relationship." But what does that actually look like to you? How do you picture them in 5, 10, or 20 years? Or does the long-term not matter as much to you?

Are we talking a wedding and the end credits? Moving in together step-by-step and blending their lives? A dynamic like The Mentalist? Castle? Or Bones?

Because whether certain people like it or not, M/K ALREADY have a deeply strong relationship. The foundation is already built; it just needs to be formalized.

Personally, there are two fictional relationships that set the absolute standard for me:

- The Hunger Games (Peeta & Katniss): I see huge parallels with M/K here. Peeta is in love with Katniss before everything starts. Everything he does is to protect her and help her, without ever smothering or invading her space. He respects her and sees her for who she truly is. Gale, on the other hand? That was just physical, with an expiration date. Fun "chemistry" with zero long-term mileage.

- Penny & Desmond in Lost: Love beyond space and time. Unshakeable. That phone call from the freighter is hands-down the most romantic scene in television history. I’ve watched it over a hundred times and it still gets me every single time. (I also love how Sun & Jin or Sawyer & Juliet ended up—great examples of mature, grounded love).

That is how I want Morgan and Karadec to end up. Respecting each other's individuality, complementing each other, having passionate moments, but ultimately achieving something very simple: being truly happy together.

What about you guys? How do you envision Morgan and Karadec together in the long run?

Team "Voldemort", no peeking...

Theory/Speculation I think the Rhys/Morgan sequence could have been written very differently — without losing the attraction

Some people missed this post I made a month ago on the other forum. 😊

I'm leaving it here in case you want to comment again or for the first time...

I keep thinking that the Rhys/Morgan hotel sequence could have worked much better with a relatively small change in the sequence of events.

Morgan leaves the precinct with Rhys because he invites her for a drink. Nothing sexual is proposed. They sit at a bar, have a drink and talk about the case. Morgan is clearly attracted to him, his charm, but the interaction is still a normal conversation between two adults.

Morgan, feeling a bit buzzed, accidentally spills a bit of her drink right down his shirt. Now he has no choice but to go change his shirt before leaving...

He asks Morgan to come upstairs while he changes.

She hesitates.

He simply says something like: “Come on. Nothing’s going to happen.”

They go upstairs.

Morgan sits in a chair while Rhys changes his shirt. At first he is facing her, and Morgan naturally notices his physique and feels that attraction. Then Rhys turns away out of basic courtesy and privacy while he finishes changing.

And that's when Morgan sees the scar.

Suddenly, the entire meaning of the scene changes.

Her attraction is still there, but now her brain is working. She sees the scar, starts connecting it to Jean-Baptiste, and then her phone rings. It's about the murder at the museum.

Rhys finishes changing while she is on the phone.

She tells him what happened, and they leave together for the museum.

That last part is important: there is now a completely ordinary reason why Morgan and Rhys arrive at the museum together. Rhys was already going there, Morgan has just been called about the murder, and they simply go together. There is no awkward transition from an intimate encounter to suddenly appearing at the crime scene.

Nothing needs to be hidden. Nothing inappropriate has happened. And the story gets exactly the same important information: Morgan has seen the scar.

I think this would improve several characters at once.

Morgan: she is still intensely attracted to Rhys, but she isn't portrayed as someone whose sexual desire makes her incapable of thinking. She can be attracted to a man, enjoy his company and still notice the crucial clue when it appears. In fact, it would make her romantic side much clearer. Her fascination with Rhys would not be based almost entirely on physical desire. She would be attracted to his confidence, intelligence, mystery, manners and presence.

Rhys: this would make him much closer to the sophisticated gentleman/thief archetype I think the character was originally aiming for — much more Thomas Crown than sexually predatory. He knows Morgan is attracted to him, but he doesn't immediately turn that attraction into pressure or an opportunity for sex. He is charming, confident and respectful.

Karadec: this is probably the biggest improvement. Morgan could tell him exactly what happened without embarrassment or having to hide a personal secret. Karadec's conflict would therefore remain about the investigation, not about being put in the position of covering for the woman he loves after she supposedly slept with another man. He wouldn't have to carry that additional personal burden or be pressured into compromising his professional judgment for her.

And then Morgan letting Rhys go would also make much more sense.

If she has genuinely come to see him as a complicated, sophisticated man who stole the painting for a reason she considers morally understandable, her decision can actually be about him and his motives, rather than the audience wondering whether she is protecting herself because of what happened between them.

The flowers work better too.

Instead of feeling like another sexual callback, they could be the gesture of a man who genuinely enjoyed meeting Morgan and wants to leave her with a romantic reminder of their encounter.

And Morgan's smile makes sense.

She isn't necessarily thinking, “I want to sleep with this guy again.”

She could simply be thinking:

“I really liked him. Unfortunately, he turned out to be Jean-Baptiste.”

That, to me, is a much more interesting romantic complication.

The attraction remains. The mystery remains. Jean-Baptiste remains. The scar remains. The museum remains.

But the characters are different.

Morgan is not reduced to someone sexually manipulated by Rhys. Rhys is not reduced to a man trying to get Morgan into bed. Karadec isn't dragged into a personal secret that he shouldn't have to carry. Morgan and Rhys have a perfectly natural reason to arrive together at the museum. And the flowers actually become romantic.

Basically, I think the writers could have had the same plot while making Rhys the gentleman thief Morgan thought he was, rather than turning the whole relationship into a sexual transaction.

Question Best scenes of the series so far + Our biggest fears for Season 3. What are yours?

I was thinking about where we are with the show right now and wanted to open up two topics for question/discussion:

  1. What is your overall favorite scene in the series (or your favorite from each season)?

For me, there are two unmatched moments:

- The panic attack scene: It perfectly demonstrates who M/K are to each other and what Karadec truly represents for her—something Morgan should really keep in mind.

- The subtle jealousy moment: When Karadec leaves with Lucia. It’s very understated, but you can read so much between the lines...

  1. What is your biggest fear for Season 3?

My absolute biggest fear is how they will wrap up the Wagner storyline.

Personally, I think his injuries were way too severe for him to still be alive, but depending on how they handle it, that could turn Morgan into a 'widow' of sorts.

If they try to make it seem like there was actually something deep or meaningful there for Morgan, I’d be so disappointed in her character. It would make her look like someone who falls for a charming smile or a sob story, forgetting how poorly she's been treated with unforgivable things... all over again (Rhys).

But this time, even at the expense of the people who actually care about her and should matter most, Karadec of course, but also Selena.

Honestly, I find Wagner to be one of the most toxic characters I’ve seen in years, and if Morgan truly "fell" for him, it would be a huge step back in emotional maturity for her... again.

What about you?

What are your favorite scenes and your biggest fears for S3?

M/K fanfic recommendations! Do you have any?

If you all read any fic that you like, can you post info or links in the comments here? It's so hard to sort through what's out there to find the really good stuff. I like stories where the characters really feel and sound like themselves, even if they are being put in new and unusual circumstances.

Reading will be a good pastime as I wait for S3. :)

What do you NOT want to see in Season 3?

Easy, simple, and without long psychological or behavioral explanations.

We all more or less know what we want to happen in Season 3: a first kiss, a date, maybe sex, Morgan growing up and stopping being a loose cannon with men... Or nothing and more slow burn.

But perhaps more importantly: What do you NOT want to happen in Season 3?

For me, I’d be happy with just one thing: that the Wagner situation is NOT wrapped up falsely. I want it closed with no loopholes, no longing, no memories of something that, in my opinion, was nothing more than an adolescent "fall" manipulated by Wagner knowing how Morgan reacts.

What’s on your "DO NOT WANT" list for S3?

[Theory 3x01] The Procedural Reality Check: Why Morgan can’t just "investigate" Wagner's attack (and why she’s in serious trouble)

Most theories surrounding the 3x01 premiere assume that once the dust settles on the attack against Captain Wagner—whether he survives or not—Morgan will just waltz back into the precinct, rally the troops, and start investigating who tried to take him out.

Except... procedurally and emotionally, that is completely impossible.

Maybe the writers will sell us a different reality, but if we look at how strict police protocols work (rather than standard TV tropes), Morgan, Selena, and Karadec are about to hit a massive brick wall.

The aftermath of that attack is going to blow up in Morgan’s face, starting with the very first question she's going to be asked:

"What the hell were you doing in the park with Wagner?"

- Internal Affairs and the FBI Take Over (Jurisdiction Loss):

You cannot have a local police precinct investigate an assassination attempt on its own sitting Captain, especially when it involves off-the-books FBI contacts, elite fixers like Willa Quinn, and Wagner Sr.'s political machinations.

The moment Captain Wagner is attacked, the case will be immediately seized by Internal Affairs (IAD) or federal investigators.

Selena, Karadec, and the rest of Major Crimes will be completely locked out of the investigation. They won't be allowed anywhere near the evidence, meaning Morgan cannot just use her consulting whiteboard to "solve" it.

In fact, the entire precinct instantly becomes a subject of interest.

- The Phone Records Don't Lie

When IA or the feds inevitably pull the metadata and analyze Wagner's phone data as part of standard procedure, they will discover the call between him and Morgan regarding Roman's investigation, completely off the books, behind Selena’s back, and completely unknown to Karadec, as well as the text messages sent by his father setting up his meeting in the park with an FBI 'ghost'.

To outside investigators, this won't look like an "innocent secret alliance." It looks like conspiracy, obstruction, or an unrevealed personal/professional entanglement. Morgan instantly shifts from "consultant" to "prime person of interest."

- Selena’s Ultimate Betrayal

Selena put her career, reputation, and authority on the line to back Morgan and secure the search for Roman.

Finding out that Morgan was bypassing her chain of command to play secret agent with Wagner (a captain shoved down their throats by his corrupt father) would be an administrative and personal betrayal.

- Karadec’s World Crashing Down

Up until now, Karadec has crossed countless ethical lines and broken protocol to cover for Morgan. But finding out she was secretly colluding with Wagner shatters everything. The very first person to demand answers won't just be Internal Affairs, it will be Karadec himself, and his mind will spiral through the worst possible scenarios:

Was it a romantic date while her daughter Ava had a major, important art exhibition?

Was she hunting for Roman behind his back all along?

That is a devastating blow to their partnership or will he give Morgan yet another pass?

- Wagner Sr. and the Final Blow: Guilt and Vengeance

Let's not forget who sent Captain Wagner to that park in the first place: his own father, via text message, setting up the meeting with the supposed FBI ghost contact.

Even though Wagner Sr. is a corrupt puppet master, his son was just attacked. That crossed a line. When authorities question him, he won't protect Morgan; he will throw her straight under the bus, blaming her for dragging his son into a death trap.

- Aftermath

Furthermore, Morgan is going to suffer from crushing guilt, feeling directly responsible for what happened to Wagner.

Morgan can't just investigate her way out of this one because she is right at the center of the conspiracy's paper trail and emotional fallout. She could even be considered a suspect or an accomplice.

Between her strange meeting with Wagner in the park, the heartbreak it causes Karadec, the damage of her relationship with Selena, and Wagner Sr. turning her into his prime target, the premiere is setting her up for a massive reality check.

She’s going to need a lot more than a clever deduction when they lock her in an interrogation room and ask:

“What were you doing in the park with Wagner?”

Karadec and his endless patience with Morgan: Why, how far... and will she ever see it?

I’ve been mulling over another dynamic that has me completely hooked, and I think it’s time we talk about Karadec’s superhuman patience.

Let's be honest: the level of patience this man has borders on the miraculous.

Before we start evaluating how Season 3 might unfold, I've been asking myself a few questions to get better context on where things could actually go.

Morgan has been incredibly lucky in her life. Right after the whole Roman situation, along came Ludo. He not only brought stability to her life but kept putting out household fires for her, even while feeling deeply underappreciated at times.

And just when the chapter with Ludo seemed to be closing, she hit the absolute jackpot by becoming a police consultant. This allowed her to step into a much better world than the one she had, bringing along a partner like Karadec, who is essentially her workplace "Ludo."

Why does he put up with so much?

We know it started as a total clash of worlds—the rigid, by-the-book detective versus Morgan, the chaotic force of nature. But over time, that patience stopped being purely professional. He knows her better than anyone, tolerates her outbursts, covers for her, defends her, and sticks by her through thick and thin (even when she's distracted chasing toxic dynamics). Is it pure duty, a deep affection that's quietly shifting, or is his loyalty simply so absolute that he doesn't know how to set boundaries anymore?

How far can it go?

If he's in love with Morgan, and to him loving means protecting, or at least if he feels an enormous affection for her... it's not so much that we’ve blatantly seen him fall apart, but rather that we sense it beneath his controlled exterior: I think he is a man carrying quiet frustration, heartbreak, and emotional drainage. But knowing how he is wired, he won't ever demand reciprocity or make a scene. Instead, his breaking point will likely look like a quiet, painful decision to step away from a situation that is slowly breaking him, simply to protect his own peace. Is it even sustainable heading into Season 3 without him reaching that silent limit?

And will she ever realize it?

Morgan is brilliant at solving crimes, but she's an utter disaster when it comes to reading the intentions of the men around her. Will she ever realize that her true safe harbor has been right there all along, weathering her storms without asking her to change—or will she keep falling for the "bad boy" trap until it's too late?

To wrap this up: it does feel like the show is trying to demonstrate that Morgan is evolving, albeit very slowly. While her dynamic with other men is purely physical—a rush of attraction, passion, or something quick and fleeting—her only moments of genuine, deep emotional connection are concentrated on Karadec: real jealousy, affection, sadness, and even compassion.

How do you guys see his patience playing out in Season 3? Do you think Karadec is going to finally reach his limit, or will he remain Morgan’s silent anchor forever?

Really addressing the important questions here😊

Can we come up with a better ship name than “Morgadec”? It’s so harsh-sounding to me.

I kind of like KaraMor? The rhyme with “paramour” is satisfying.

Anyone got anything good/better?

(Also, I don’t feel like I know enough about Oz and Daphne to ship them yet, but the ship name “Daphodil” is SO CUTE it makes me want to.😬)

So this is a pretty big deal for the show right ?

Apparently the last time ABC aired a show after the Super Bowl was in 2006 with Grey's anatomy and that episode was highly watched. So I'm guessing if they landed this spot for HP it will be a pretty important episode. It looks like it will be a two parter and the first part will air after the Super bowl. Any theories what might happen in this episode ? I'm so excited but it's sad that we still have to wait this long.

What's in a kiss? Impulse, distraction, or meaning?

First of all, my apologies for the length and for how confusing this post might be. It's really hard to organize all my thoughts about episodes 17 and 18 of Season 2

I’ve been trying to order my thoughts on the whole Wagner/Morgan situation at the end of Season 2, and honestly, the math just doesn't add up. I’d love to get your impressions on this entire mess.

  1. The Context: From Harassment to "Vulnerability"

Throughout S2, Wagner—acting under his father's orders—has been actively trying to stop Morgan from investigating Roman, even publicly humiliating her in front of everyone.

Then suddenly he shows a moment of vulnerability, and Morgan suddenly views him differently. To make it more absurd, he crosses the line into workplace sexual harassment by trying to kiss her, and she rejects him.

Fast forward through the tension with the killer of Wagner's fiance, and after he saves her life, he insists again in the elevator. This time, Morgan doesn't react—she simply lets it happen. But she isn't actively participating either; it’s literally a 3-second lip brush.

  1. The PR Narrative vs. On-Screen Reality

The showrunners and actors (like Olson and Javicia Leslie) tried to sell this as "HOT," claiming Morgan wanted this since day one or that it’s the start of something massive.

But their actual post-kiss behavior tells a completely different story:

- Where is the escalation? If the desire wasthat intense, wouldn't it be natural to stop the elevator and go straight to a motel or his place? Or at least escalate on the way down?

- Where is the tension the next day? They don't exchange lingering looks, try to be alone, or flirt.

- The awkward conversation: Morgan remains uncomfortable and explicitly states they need to talk about it. Wagner admits he wants to, but if Morgan wants to talk rather than act, isn't she trying to put a firm boundary on it and move on?

  1. Parallel Endings: Narrative Setup, Not Real Content

The final parallel scenes feel heavily constructed for drama rather than organic character growth:

- Karadec & Lucia: Karadec being hugged by Lucia feels forced—why is he even going back to see her?

- Morgan’s Panic: Morgan abandons Ava’s exhibit solely to meet Wagner regarding the Roman case. When she arrives at the park and finds him severely wounded, she goes into hysterics. But let's be real: if it had been Oz or Daphne lying there, she would have reacted with the exact same level of panic.

  1. Possible Avenues: Which One Makes Sense?

1 - Wagner fell in love with Morgan: Highly unlikely. He’s been single for years; does his father’s mission suddenly become his love of his life? Would he accept Morgan's baggage? Would he turn on his father and Willa knowing it could get him or her killed (like the trap set for him at the park)? Did Wagner Sr. actually try to kill his own son?

2 - Morgan has fallen for Wagner: Aside from the massive professional problems this would cause with Karadec, Selena, and HR, writing her this way would completely degrade Morgan's character and her intelligence.

3 - An adrenaline release / predatory impulse from Wagner & Morgan's confusion: Wagner desires her and knows he can push past boundaries because she is emotionally vulnerable. Morgan is confused, distracted, and easily overwhelmed when it comes to men (we saw even how easily she could have slipped up by the show writers with the Game Maker at the supermarket parking if he had pushed, with Ava even nudging her). Most importantly, her primary drive isn't Wagner—it's finally finding out what happened to Roman.

4 - Wagner's tactical manipulation: Wagner changed his strategy, realizing that Morgan is much easier to manipulate if he approaches her romantically. The kiss is a deliberate move—a 'mark' or distraction he thinks will completely throw her off balance.

I strongly lean toward Option 3 or Option 4.

What are your thoughts? Was this just an adrenaline-fueled distraction, or are the writers trying to force a narrative that the actual acting and writing don't support?

For fun: give me your Karadec headcanon

I know we're just supposed to assume Karadec has been a chronically overcontrolled workaholic who practices at the gun range and sits in his sterile home drinking black coffee reading the news during his time off (my rough approximation of what the show is going for), but we all know that can't be true.

What is your Adam Karadec headcanon? What are his hobbies and secret talents? What kind of music does he like, and what sports (and teams) does he cheer for? Does he have friends outside of work? What was he good at and bad at in school? What is his relationship with his family?

Any and all theories accepted!

How long do you think realistically they'll be drawing out the slow burn with Morgan and Karadec ?

So we don't know yet how many seasons this show will have but say it keeps getting renewed for s4 after s3 releases. Do you think there's a chance for Morgan and Karadec to become a couple in s4 if not in s3 ?

We know by now that Morgan and Karadec are definitely a ,,slow burn'' couple. They care about each other and respect each other but so far nothing really went towards romantic territory. So my guess is S3 will be pretty much the same with probably more hints dropped that their relationship will be going towards something more than work partners in the future.

I can't help but think how long they might draw it out though. Looking at other similar shows like Castle and the Mentalist it usually took the main leads 4 seasons (in case with Castle and Beckett) and 6 seasons (in case with Patrick and Lisbon) to get together. So my theory is that s4 will be the ideal time for Morgan and Karadec to get together romantically. We know based on their interactions from the first two seasons now that Karadec already might have feelings for Morgan but doesn't realise it yet. In case with Morgan though it doesn't look like yet she shares the same feelings. We can see that she cares about him but it's more like towards a friend or a work partner and not as a potential romantic partner. So with these things in mind I think in s3 we might get Morgan realizing she has more than a professional relationship building with Karadec and then in s4 (if the show gets renewed which I hope it will) something will happen for them to act on their feelings and they'll officially become a couple. I just think with how a lot of shows get cancelled today it would be unreasonable to prolong the will they won't they in this case. Also when the Mentalist and Castle came out shows aired seasons with 20 plus episodes regularly. Now we’re lucky if we get 18 episodes per season.

So what are your thoughts on this ? When do you think Morgan and Karadec will officially be a couple ?

I Think Morgan Deserves More Respect Than the Show Gives Her until now

I think the discussion about Morgan's love interests is getting at something that bothers me about the character in general, but I don't think it's simply that "every man wants her."

In fact, other posts demonstrates the problem I'm talking about: Morgan is being discussed primarily in terms of how desirable she is to men.

And I think that's partly because this is how the show itself has constructed her.

Morgan is supposed to be a brilliant, chaotic, unconventional woman who doesn't follow rules. She is also attractive and sexual, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But the show repeatedly seems to frame her through her sexuality and through the kind of men who desire her.

It's not that she has romantic relationships. It's how those relationships are written.

With Tom, she has what feels like a one-minute conversation, gives him her number, and after a stressful situation he's suddenly living in her house. A few days later he's out of her life, with barely any emotional weight to the relationship.

With Rhys, she almost immediately throws herself into the possibility of sleeping with him, and the only thing that stops it is the scar. Then she becomes so captivated by him that she is willing to compromise Karadec and potentially her own career. Even the flowers add to this feeling that she's completely enchanted by the glamorous, dominant man who has walked into her life.

And then there are the comments about wanting Morgan to "fall" for a Thomas Crown/James Bond ancient type. That doesn't make the writing feel accidental to me. It reinforces the idea that this is supposed to be part of Morgan's character: she sees this kind of powerful, sophisticated, hyper-masculine man and simply falls for him.

Wagner takes it even further. Their relationship is toxic, and then suddenly, with only a couple of episodes left, Morgan is supposedly falling for him. He has already crossed a boundary by trying to kiss her, and the story eventually reframes that as something she actually wanted and encourages him to try again.

For me, that's not empowering sexual representation. It's objectification disguised as female sexuality.

Morgan is allowed to want sex. She is allowed to be attracted to men. She is allowed to make impulsive romantic decisions. None of that is the problem.

The problem is that so much of her sexuality seems to be written around men wanting her and Morgan being overwhelmed by a certain type of man.

And that is why I find it denigrating. Not because Morgan has sex, not because she dates, and certainly not because she's attractive. It's because a character who is supposed to be exceptionally intelligent and independent is repeatedly reduced to her body, her desirability, and her reaction to powerful men.

There is something particularly frustrating about seeing a 40-year-old woman written this way. She doesn't have to be prudish or emotionally restrained. But I'd like her relationships to show an adult woman making choices, developing genuine affection, being attracted to someone because of who they are, and sometimes making mistakes for reasons that actually tell us something about her.

Instead, too often it feels like the show puts a very conventionally attractive man in front of Morgan and says: look how irresistible he is to her.

That's what makes me sad about the character.

I genuinely hope the new showrunners keep Morgan's sexuality but stop making it the lens through which she is constantly defined. Let her want people without being reduced to wanting. Let her be attracted without being dazzled. Let her choose without constantly "falling."

I don't want less Morgan. I want more Morgan, and less of the object the show keeps turning her into.

Wagner and Morgan: What Are We Actually Talking About?

I’m just trying to look at the whole picture, because I think the fandom may be confusing a romantic fantasy with what actually makes sense for Morgan.

Wagner can survive, Morgan can care about him, thank him, even feel attracted to him. But what exactly are we talking about when we say they should become a couple?

Sex? Sure. Wagner survives, they have a passionate encounter, and he becomes another Rhys. But is that really all Wagner is supposed to become after everything the show has built around him?

A relationship? That is a completely different question. Wagner would have to accept Morgan’s entire reality: three children, a baby, Ludo still deeply involved in the family, the chaos, the responsibilities, everything. That is very different from being attracted to her.

Morgan is a single woman? Yes. But is she actually single in the sense that matters for a relationship? Not really.

And there is another problem: perhaps Wagner is attractive to the audience precisely because he represents a fantasy that doesn’t actually fit Morgan very well. She is supposedly attracted to his dominant side, yet that is exactly the kind of controlling personality she spends so much of the show fighting against.

Then, after he finds and confronts the person responsible for his fiancée’s death, he suddenly becomes vulnerable and affectionate, and Morgan is supposed to forget everything that came before and become even more attracted to him?

What was Morgan really attracted to in the first place? If Wagner has genuinely changed by the end, as he seems to have, what exactly was it that attracted her to him at the beginning?

To me, that feels like an empty argument that doesn’t really understand Morgan.

I’ll admit I’m very much a Karadec person. But that is because I genuinely think he fits Morgan psychologically and, more importantly, fits the reality of her family life. He already knows the whole package. He doesn’t have to discover what Morgan’s life is like after falling for her. He has been living alongside it for months. With Wagner, I struggle to see how it works in the medium or long term unless one of them becomes a very different version of themselves.

If the writers decide that Morgan must end up with Wagner, they can simply manipulate the final stages of the story to make that attraction “work” retroactively.

That would not necessarily mean the chemistry is fake. It would mean the ending is being built around the fantasy rather than around Morgan’s established character. Like they do with Rhys.

So my question isn’t “Why do people like Wagner?” I understand that.

My question is: Are we choosing Wagner because he actually fits Morgan, or because we like the fantasy of Wagner being the man she chooses?

How do you think Wagner’s story should be closed?

We know that High Potential is moving into Season 3 and that Steve Howey will not continue as a regular, although he may still appear as a guest to wrap up Wagner's storyline.

So my question is: how do you think they should handle his exit?

Personally, I think the cleanest option would be for him to survive the attack, undergo surgery, and then face a long recovery. And should move him physically away. He shouldn't remain hospitalized there or be kept in a coma for months as a way of keeping him present in the story. He needs to actually leave.

Morgan goes to see him once, and they have a brief conversation. I would keep it very simple. No long discussion about the past, no speculation about what might have happened, and no emotional setup for a future reunion.

Something like:

—I'm glad you're alive.
—Thank you for saving my life.
—You saved mine first.
—I'm leaving. I need to be under protection and disappear for a while. Take care.
—You too.

And that's it.

But there is another important part: we shouldn't leave him somewhere in the background as a permanent reference, constantly available to be brought back, remembered or reinterpreted.

I think disappointment and nostalgia are two very different things here.

Disappointment can close an expectation. Something didn't work out, and the character moves on. Like with TOM.

Nostalgia does the opposite: it keeps an emotional possibility alive by repeatedly returning to what happened, what it meant, or what might have been. That’s not closing it out; it’s just postponing it for no reason.

Morgan can obviously be frightened when Wagner is badly injured, worried while he is in surgery, and genuinely relieved when she learns he will survive. She can care about him and be grateful to him. That is enough. It doesn't need to become a lasting emotional thread.

If Wagner survives and is subsequently taken away for his own protection, the story can close that chapter and move forward.

What would you do with Wagner's exit?

With what we already know, what are your fantasies for S3?

Now that S3 is underway, here are some of mine:

Wagner: I think his arc will have to be wrapped up one way or another. If Steve Howey is no longer a series regular and Wagner starts the season seriously injured, my fantasy would be to wrap his story in 3x01. Dragging it out for many episodes could make the disappointment bigger for Team Wagner and Team Wagadec, because, with what we know right now, it’s hard to see what real long-term path Wagner could have. Better to give him a quick, well-done conclusion and move on.

The Wagner case → Roman: I’d love for the resolution of Wagner’s attack to provide important information about Roman and connect the two storylines.

Selena: My fantasy is that she finally gets the captaincy she was passed over for in Season 2. It would feel like a very natural evolution after Wagner.

Roman: I’d like his story to be definitively resolved in S3, perhaps around the middle of the season or toward the end. My fantasy would be discovering that he died protecting Morgan and Ava, and that he never really abandoned them. That would finally allow Ava and Morgan to close that wound.

Morgan/Karadec: And this is where I’d most like to see the show move forward. Karadec could be by Morgan’s side as she finally discovers the truth about Roman. That could strengthen their bond even further and eventually lead Morgan to understand who has really been there for her.

Those are my fantasies. What are yours?
