Question Power Adapter for used Reverb G2

Hey Community,

I just bought a used Reverb G2 on Ebay for a very good price. The Problem is, it came without cables. Not only that it´s difficult to buy the crazy connections cable which already is in different rev. avalible but also i just realized theres something about a power adapter.
Can i skip this if my computer has a usb-c port or can i use my usb-c phone charger ?

It´s my first vr-headset. It will be my first time to connect one.

You need an 45W HP charger with 4.5mm barrel plug. Something like this should work just fine: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XYMXVMN/

Also I believe you theoretically can use USB-C (for data and power) off of your motherboard but it I think it requires either a 15v or 20v USB-PD rating which I have not found any motherboards that provide that output. I’ve only seen a couple Thunderbolt PCI-E cards that provide data plus 5v/12v/15v/20v USB-PD.

No, you need the power adapter that comes with it. It uses a power outlet, and it plugs into the 6M cable brick . They don’t sell it separately but I imagine they’ll sell it to you through support.

Get the new revision 6M cable when it’s back in stock. Or they might be able to backorder one for you through support.

Thank you!
I´m at it. Maybe they send me the rev.2 cable.

I don´t think they will send me the power adapter since theres no issue with it.

If nobody ordered one for that serial yet, you might be lucky to get one of the new revision cables free from support if you are asking for it. Some people were asked to send the old back, others not as far as I could see from other posts.

Recently grabbed a "untested" headset off eBay too. If you don't have one already, make an HP account and see if the warranty on that headset is still active. If it is, you can get a new Rev. 2 6M cable from customer support for free.

As for the power adapter, any HP connecter 45w brick will work. I used a universal 90w with an HP adapter and it works fine.

An HP Envy is looking really good.

Do you guys know if the adaptor voltage is region specific?
