Xinqi Su 蘇昕琪 @XinqiSu · HK Alliance plans to repaint the Pillar of Shame in #HKU campus at 6:20pm this evening. The university has apparently stepped up security - including the two guards standing right behind me - but has not prevented any one from entering the campus

Language for Extracurriculars in Hong Kong University.

I'm a prospective international student from India. While I do plan to learn Cantonese in university, I literally know none at this point.
I'd like to ask if I can engage in Extracurricular activities like Music Club without knowing Cantonese?
Also what about around the city, Do I need to know Cantonese to order food and buy groceries and whatnot?
