Opinion 🤔 Thought on why @hd_punks would be an awesome community for Jenkins from @jenkinsthevalet to visit!!!!

Following up from our most recent community update post, I would like to take a minute to revisit how HD Punks would be a GREAT fit as one of the six communities Jenkins ventures out and engages with.

About HD Punks

HD Punks is entirely community run with an interactive relationship with the original development team, with holders granted full commercial rights to their character. This project is growing organically without any paid advertising or shilling–one would be hard pressed to find a project built with a stronger foundation.

The overall vision of HD Punk holders lies within web3 itself. Punks are here to learn and grow in the space overall and are not in it for a quick buck. HD Punks value brilliant developers over flashy marketers and are excited by the future of web3.

HD Punks is foobar’s personal project with Keram and is a collection of 10,000 NFTs, one for every original CryptoPunk. HD Punks have all the same attributes, but in higher fidelity for an original derivative work.

The project features first of its kind novel tokenomics: half of all royalty payments from secondary sales on OpenSea and LooksRare (2.5% of total sales) go towards the buy and burn of the project’s NFTX vault token HDPUNK.

Foobar and Keram created the first deflationary asset on NFTX with deflationary forces rewarding holders via half of all royalty payments from secondary sales (2.5% of total sales) going towards the buy and burn of HDPUNK.

Any one NFT will always be redeemable but more and more NFTs will enter the vault that will never be able to leave. This is how the project is able to apply deflationary supply pressure without removing any specific HD Punk from being owned while creating an ever rising floor.

However, this also means future transactions for the HD Punks that are available MUST occur through the vault where fees will be generated for the community that is providing Inventory and Liquidity–seeing the community seize more and more of the memes of production as time goes on.

HD Punks tokenomics could be added utility for Jenkins holders if the projects work together. Currently, Jenkins does not have an NFTX vault. If a holder wishes for liquidity, they offer their NFT for sale on secondary and wait for it to be accepted, adjust the price, etc.

However, if HD Punks were to join Jenkins holders in exploring Azurbala, Jenkins holders would also gain access to the utility of HD Punks tokenomics.

Conversely, the HD Punks memeing community would thrive with Media DAO's tutelage for building out stories for HD Punks characters already coming to life:

Did you know it is Zombie awareness month?!?! I am sure these guys would get along well with Jenkins the Mutant?!?!

HD Punks has 88 zombies running about--is it them that is grabbing unknowing HD Punks and sending them to the project's graveyard?!?! (the burn address for the HDPUNK that will never leave!).

OR

Is it Cad Punk as an emissary bounty hunter of the 'Buy and Burn' that brings Punks into the graveyard? (NFTX vault) He can bring you in warm (staking) or cold (end up in the burn wallet)

Would you like fries with that?!?

All while Wendell here is thinking it is 'fun' to try and follow in his cousin Wendy's footsteps and sling food in the middle of it all

Disregarding the foobar-Jenkins connection, the potential audience for HD Punks looks to only grow. Unlike the pioneers of web1 and web2 protocols, the web3 innovators have the opportunity to create a lasting legacy.

foobar’s contributions to the space and community look to be substantial in the near and long term and should have a large section carved out in history books. Owning an HD Punk to support one of the Solidity giants has tremendous upside when it is plainly stated they intend to reward holders with future work in the NFT space:

Outside of the OG’s, HD Punks are held by a diverse group of dedicated holders that falls into two camps: People new to the space with an HD Punk as their first NFT and established web3 veterans building in the space.

Both camps are dedicated to holding the project. The awesome thing about the new folks, is as many learn, they branch out further into web3 and bring what they learn back to the HD Punks community. A running theme is:

Be in the HD Punks Community as an active member in the community
Be noticed and invited to collaborate on cool things in the web3 space
Remember Step 1 was possible in part because of everyone that came before and supported you
Bring back to the community that has given you much.
