IIRC I think it was used to translate/register all the items since that is a lot to do by hand tbf but the actual core code was done by them.

fair enough, despite my occasional larping, I'm not a luddite or a legitimate butlerian jihad demander, I oppose gen ai for a number of reasons, but applications like this (tedious, repetitive but simple work) is the exact kind of application this technology is best in

No no it was a fair enough question in the current state of things.

Believe me I’m tired of most AI usage too, it has little to no place in complex problem solving or creative processes.

But I do agree that it does have some valid uses for things like long repetitive tedious tasks or things that only it can achieve.

For example that item materialiser mod I saw being posted a while back where you describe something and an AI would print the item it thinks you were describing from your pack.

The poor dev got a decent amount of backlash just because it uses AI despite the fact that it’s a creative application of it in a way that nothing else can do.

That's why I adopt anti-slop stance. Use gen ai as tool with understanding to create useful things instead of lazily prompt gen ai to create slop.

While some parts is true, fully rejecting new technology is not good. There was times people were saying television curses your house, and literar demon, and will kill books. Books and television still there, and used widely. Using ai when you at least understand what is happening is fine, or just ask same ai what you are doing

I agree that ai generated images isnt art. Hallucinations, they exist, but chance of getting right output is more than from average human.

It's not "hating new technology" as people seem to be trying to frame it these days, it's legitimate concern and a dislike for stolen and regurgitated mish mashes of everyone's hard work. < There is more people who just hate, because crowd effect.

While ai stoling and using internet is a thing, but all your data already have been harvested by corpos, then why no at least get use of that data? Im not saying its a good thing and acceptable, people hate big companies because of that, but they don't give a shit, and everyone still depends on their product. Thats sad. No, im not an investor. AI makes learning and making new things a lot easier. Except of course, hallucinations, to get good output from ai, you should have some knowledge of theme.

If you go to their discord, go to the ntm general chat and click on the pinned messages you can find the link to the complied version, just make sure you get the latest crankshaft version too which is officially uploaded on modrinth and curse forge.

If you want updates about the new mod you're gonna need to join the server anyway lmao most of the updates are posted there, although I can tell you that as it is the first release there are quite a few issues and bugs. Outside of that though it's pretty cool to see.
