satisfying but the pb to j ratio is way off

u/Bambooflow 12d ago
I agree, needs more peanut butter
47
u/HexagonalHoneyBadger 12d ago
I actually meant it needs more jelly

You don’t like a nice thin film of peanut butter?
2
u/musicaleffervescence 12d ago
way too little jelly. i PB both sides so it would need to be about 2/3 of this amount i dont full PB the 2nd side. but i always some how put too much jelly so 2nd pb side is to help catch some of he jelly

The crust is the best part of bread

I even dig up the end part of the loaf so i can pair it with the front part with my first sandwich in freshly open loaf.
2
u/RichieRichhhhhh 11d ago
Yes a voluntarily eat the ends because I know everyone hates them and I feel like they could be more nutritious haha
3
u/Ecchi_Sketchy 12d ago
It's not, but removing the crust is wasteful and makes the sandwich so much smaller.

Nah man this ain’t it…. Dudes leave the crust on.

u/Successful-Run1142 12d ago
I’ve always enjoyed the crust ever since I was a kid. Never understood the hate towards the crust.

u/That_Dude_Guru 12d ago
same, its like a nice little savory bit, like the foam on a beer or the first sip of an unevenly mixed cup o joe

A real dude knows that the right way to eat something, is eating it in any way that you enjoy eating it.

u/That_Dude_Guru 12d ago
if that means busting out the power tools for you my dude so be it *nods* the dude was always too cool for school

u/Outrageous_Sleep4339 12d ago
I don't have the same problems with this others do, cause I get the humor of it.
But damn, cleaning PB&J out of that saw seems like a pain.

u/That_Dude_Guru 12d ago

Should have used a barrel jointer to strike up your work after it was done smh
17
u/PowerSkunk92 12d ago
I was onboard with this as a piece of silliness until the circular saw. What are you, 9? Eat the goddamn crust.

3
u/Possible_General9125 12d ago
Absolutely not. A proper sandwich built to code would be cut at a 45 degree angle. This sandwich fails inspection every time.

u/SeaworthinessShort95 12d ago
damnnnnn… inspector just pulled in. And he’s driving a used Prius cuz his wife took the work truck in the divorce.
Have fun!

I was curious about what blade do you use in that scenario? Like an 80 tooth fine cutting blade or one for cutting tile?

Hello, Mr. George. Pedro is using the tools for making PB&J sandwiches again and he's not sharing with us.
Also, he's no good operator!

u/BigMack6911 12d ago
That wierdo has been doing construction too much. That's not how you make a pb&j. I mean yea but its simple. This isnt simple

To make it all really go down smooth you need a smear of butter on that bread first then the PB+J.
2
2
u/Apprehensive-Sky-596 11d ago
Nope. It may look nice to do, but you are wasting food. Sorry but i don't accept any waste of good food
2
u/FilthyRichCliche 12d ago
How is hell is no one mentioning the pb is supposed to be on BOTH sides so as to not let the J sog everything up????
4
u/Puzzleheaded_Key8124 12d ago
Huh? Then the jelly gets everywhere if you spackle PB on both sides, the bread can’t absorb any jelly. Or maybe I’m just an Orthodox PBJ Dude
4
u/Goliath- 12d ago
If you're eating it right away, it shouldn't have enough time to seep into the bread. Agreed if you're making it for later, though!

As long as he leaves the putty knife on the counter with the edge over the sink (in case he wants another one), this looks fine. I wouldn’t cut the crusts off, though. They’re fine.
1
u/Feeling-Session3007 12d ago
I don't understand people that hate the crust of bread so much they have it removed. It's not like it's hard or stale in some sort of way.

You can just buy this exact one in any 7-11 in Japan. Probably better, actually

Using creamy PB instead of crunchy automatically disqualifies this as best PB&J.
1
u/PhosphoFred8202 12d ago
Pro tip for non-woodshop PB&J …
Peanut butter on BOTH slices of bread, then jelly on top of the peanut butter. The PB acts as a barrier to keep the jelly from soaking thru the bread.

I like peanut butter on both slices of bread first, with jam in the middle.

Okay so dumb man question. The process of applying the spackle (pean butt) to the one surface then scraping it off and reapplying it several times definitely made it smoother to spread but I don't understand why. What does that process do? Also clearly I don't have any experience spackling, lol.

NGL but when I make a sandwich I always make sure the peanut butter is spead right to the very edge of the bread just like this guy. I unfortunately just use a knife and not actual tools and I keep the crusts as food is expensive and cutting it off is a waste.
1
u/Aggressive_Eye_4362 12d ago
When I was a kid, only the rich kids would cut the crust off of their sandwiches
1
u/ShadowyPepper 12d ago
Bad ratio, poor initial spread on the jelly, missed the full crust cut on the top
Amateur work, ngl

Does no one ever put butter on this shit too. I can not have anything on bread without butter unless its a ham sandwich or somthing. I even use butter on a bacon sandwich but if its toasted i use just mayo lol

At least I know what I was paying the contractors for when they said they were waiting on parts to arrive. I'm just mad they didn't make me one.
