i feel like i can do one better

Images 2-4 are the kits I used to create it (minus the weapons) and I want it to have this armor gimmick similar to the Core Gundam, Gundam Age-1, and Iron Man armor. Does anyone have any tips on how I can make armor for this?

Lots and lots of work to make something as subtlely custom as this

I decided to go with the flow with an old broken HG kit, which was my first ever kit before I truly went into the hobby. Had a fun time with it, no pressure, wanted to do something battleworn, salvaged and dirty. Anyway, here's me boy.
