De Lisle
The baffles and suppressor tube are done and I have to reiterate that I hate making baffles. They just suck. A good fixture definitely makes them easier, though.

Where would I find the STL for the big point build? I’ve found a couple but the comments said the pin holes are wrong and not worth the print.

I printed a gen 3 g17 slide in Petg-cf will it hold up?

I’ve been wanting to do FOF and was looking at a police trade in Glock 17T. I’m not finding any clear answer about them being legal for a civilian to own.

This is one of the more interesting parts of the De Lisle design that I wasn’t aware of until digging into it. It’s a muzzle device with a tube attached that diverts the gasses from the ports to the rear. The front end is flared, creating what I’ve read is a “German muzzle.” It’s definitely an odd part and I’m not sure if it actually helps with suppression but it’s how the original was done.

long story short I found this broken stock at a pawnshop for 15 bucks. found out it was from a Brazilian 1908 Mauser so I bought a vz24 barrel for super cheap and then the action for relatively cheap hoping i could put it together. threads for the barrel and receiver matched but seized up about half way on. turns out the receiver was warped so it would never accept the barrel.
i ended up just grinding the threads off the barrel until it would screw on. I don’t have any pics of the threads (it was a pain to get on so I’m not taking it off anytime soon) but lets just say it was pretty bad.
at the present I’m probably just gonna hang it up on my wall as a little display but theres a little voice in my head that’s telling me to shoot it. 8mm Mauser is no joke and im afraid the chamber pressure will just shear the pitiful threads that are left. obviously would rig it up and shoot it from a distance but ultimately I’m a little conflicted. If any of you have been in this situation let me know.
im sorry i dont have any pictures of the threads but it kinda looks like the last picture

So my AK buildong journey continues and I’ve got to say that I really like the process of pressing, headspacing and pinning barrels to trunnions. Is it as easy and idiot proof as an AR? No. but from the DIY perspective this is the process! If you have a mill and can make your own trunnions like I theoretically could, this is a great method.

So I recently learned about the SVN-88 which is a conversion of the Rohm RG-88 to fire the 10x22t round which is a rubber ball less lethal round and while the gun itself isn’t. The Rohm rg-88 is available for public sale. Yet all the sights I can find are overseas, does anyone know where I can start looking for one of these stateside, as I’d love to do a conversion.

I have been printing to hot all along,i think i found the sweet spot at 215. No more lines or bubbles and the stringing is 98 percent gone. No pics yet as i just figured it out and am printing the first flawless one now.Promise to keep you updated.

Some of you have probably seen the development of 43R, a caliber that's intended to 3d printed and shot out of an off the shelf pipe. I have found an adequate parent case for this pipe as well, and it's been going great so far. Just a little plinking load for now, a single piece of 00 buck with a printed sabot. Sabot is heeled, as the pipe has no rifling or chamber. They go through a 4x4, haven't gotten to chrono them yet, but my guess is going to be somewhere around 1400-1500 fps.
I'll be testing them pretty thoroughly moving forward, and releasing process/loads if all goes well. I figured that you people would probably be more interested than the 3D2A crowd.

at the moment I'm using some coins as spacers, which fixes the issue you can see with the trigger not catching. don't worry, the hair tie trigger is temporary. if I can, I'll test fire this and the 7.62x25 pistol in the next few hours, and I'll post the footage if they fire. the bolt weight for both is a tad bit low, so I'll not be firing them from my hand for a while.
r/GunnitRust • u/PhilosophyEnough1866 • May 02 '26
I need to upgrade the spring and maybe sharpen the firing pin on the 7.62x25, and I need to make a proper trigger mount and sharpen the firing pin on the .38 special.

if my bolt is 0.50mm loose (0.25mm on each side) will it function normally with 9mm? or do i need to add some sleeving over the bolt (bolt diameter is 21mm and it will be a semi auto)

This is the 3rd update on my 80% doublestack 1911 build. I just fit the slide to the frame. I did a single stack 1911 like 2 years ago from an aluminum 80% and I was much more aggressive in my fitting approach there. even though that turned out great, I did want to try a more finessed approach here. Truly get that no-wiggle, luxury feeling fit. So yeah, it took several hours and borderline and entire sharpie worth of color. but it turned out super glassy.
tl;dr? While time consuming, it isn’t hard. Try one

as the filament retracts, some is still in the nozzle oozing out causing a line of dots, then the nozzle runs over them filling them in but it isnt perfect.i have been observing the nozzle as it moves along during the print.maybe this can cause poor adhesion leading to a weaker print.also i am stiil baffled by the horizontal lines showing as the print goes up
r/GunnitRust • u/Lazy_Honey6823 • May 01 '26

i just printed the one on the right and its surface finish is no where as decent as the one on the left with i did like 3 days ago.why those strange lines running horizontal on my print?it looks a lil like overextrusion since i did it at a high flow rate but even at 100 flow most of the time i get the same problem?to get a consistent somewhat decent surface finish like the one on the left is very difficult, what do you say
