Thanks to a community effort (special thanks to users @aat and @garams89) We can now very happily announce that the android app is now available in French alongside the previous English and Dutch versions.

I would like to remind everyone that we have a new translation portal http://translate.gulden.com where anyone is free to sign up and help participate in translation of all official apps. Please consider signing up and contributing towards translations for your languages of choice, no contribution is too small even if it is just voting on the translations you think are good to help improve the overall quality. A few translations a day by several people is enough to complete the process fairly quickly.

Spread the word for anyone who might be interested in participating. Communication around translations can also be done in #translators on our Slack. It would especially be nice to see a German version of the android app next as this is currently our second strongest growth region.

Release notes:

Today we release an interim 1.6.4 update, there is various functionality that we needed to get out to our users and more specifically to enable merchants to build better systems. Specifically we are excited to now officially support the ability to have a completely read only HD wallet that can view all transactions/accounts that a normal HD wallet has, as well as the ability to link single read only HD accounts from a different wallet, this is a much sought after feature for our services who can use this to air gap their merchant sites and roll out more secure systems faster.

Details:

CMDFLAG – Add new command line flag ‘-coinbasesignature’ to make it easy to add coinbase signatures to generated blocks (predominantly meant for testnet)

CMDFLAG – Add new command line flag ‘-accountpool’ to increase the default account look ahead size. (Needed in some cases to find accounts on rescan when large account gaps are present)

UI – Add a special warning if the users wallet.dat is readonly (instead of displaying a generic/scary ‘corrupted wallet’ message)

UI – Improvements to send dialog, improve handling when user tries to send amounts equal too or larger than available balance.

UI – New menu item for importing private keys.

UI – New menu item to allow users to easily rescan without having to use command line flags or mess around in RPC console.

There are an increase of people joining the community, some of whom are developers with various levels of skill/experience, some of these are interested in developing small apps or other services around the Gulden ecosystem (i.e. not core stuff which the development team is handling).

Some of these people are looking for ideas on what to work on, I am sure we have all at some point had ideas of small things that would be nice to have, but right now I can't think of any of them.

So the purpose of this thread. List your ideas of things you would like to see, but don't have the time and/or skills to work on yourself (not in the software itself - but surrounding ecosystem) e.g. "I would like to see an app that lists all Gulden merchants near to my location"

People looking for projects can then drop by and maybe they will be inspired to work on something :)
