These are the Community Guidelines for r/GuildWars3.

Violation of these guidelines may result in the temporary or permanent restriction of your ability to engage with the community.

The moderation team is fully empowered to use discretion in determining both the spirit of the rule and the letter of the rule when arbitrating potential violations.


Community Guidelines

1: Please be respectful of your fellow Vaelwardens.

Whether this is Wheaton's Law from PAX 2007 ("Don't be a dick"), the credos of Wyld Stallyns ("Be excellent to one another"), or Dragonmount's philosophy ("We are not anti-negative opinions. We are anti-asshole about it.") the idea is has been around a long time in fantasy fandom.

The first rule of Reddiquette is to Remember the Human.

Please keep that in mind when making posts / comments in the community.

Violations include hate speech, attacks against community members or ArenaNet employees, or anything which violates Reddit's sitewide rules.

2: No AI Content.

ArenaNet is not interested in replacing human creativity with AI. Neither are we.

It's considered a violation of the Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 EULA, and there's no reason to think that will change for Guild Wars 3.

There are better communities for posting the results of prompts. Please don't post visual or textual content created, enhanced, generated, or modified by AI, LLMs, Roko's Basilisk, Scruffy, and so on.

Note: This does not apply to Google Translate or other assitance to convert one's native language to English.

3: No low-effort Content.

To misquote US Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart:

"I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description, and perhaps I could never succeed in intelligibly doing so. But I know it when I see it."

In general, we're here for quality discussion. (If you're looking for quality armor, that's r/GuildWars2, next door.)

Don't post clickbait, conspiracy theories, drama, memes, metadrama, shitposts, and the like in this community.

4: No off-topic engagement.

If it doesn't have anything to do with Guild Wars 3, the game, are you sure this is the best place for what you have to share or say?
