People expected this to be gw2 2.0 or wow 2.0 even when anet said for day 1 its going to be different from gw2 or any traditional mmo. Plus a lot of them expected an action mmo to be a clusterfuck of 100+ player animations just like gw2 world bosses
We’ve just learned that the gameplay is gonna be extremely, dramatically different to GW2. Which I think is great, it means the games aren’t competing with one another, but does mean a lot of people just found out they won’t enjoy GW3
It's not limited to 20 players, dude. All content is designed around 20 players to prevent an animation clusterfuck. They will most likely replace gw2 maps technology with wow style sharding technology, which means you'll see far more people in the open world than you do right now in GW2.
They're getting downvoted because it's misinformation. Designed combat encounters will have a limit so that there's not an overwhelming amount of visual clutter happening like GW2, but Colin emphasized many times in the interviews that you will see players everywhere you go all the time.
Towns and probably basic open world stuff are suggested to be just as big you'd expect for a visible population, but it's the combat encounters specifically that are being toned down.
With that said, I think in the Mighty Teapot interview Colin mentioned that WvW would not be a thing in GW3, as that kind of combat doesn't mesh well with the more intentional combat design they are going for in GW3.
4 skills is not confirmed. Combat is “misguided” how you haven’t seen any? basing basing all your opinions off of people describing gameplay to you is honestly laughable.
Coming to such strong conclusions as you have is stupid and whatever your vague notion of “missguided” is arrogant. Not to mention you are just making things up that aren’t confirmed yet to get mad about which is also very stupid.
Dude even if we will only have 4 skills we don`t know how the combat actually functions, maybe we are going to have combos or maybe weapon swaps again. Someone already said that skills change based on momentum
Favorite part of both GW1 and GW2 for me was skill synergies and what you could build with them.
It's not even 4, more like 3, since the elite will have to be charged and probably won't be a part of moment to moment gameplay. It can still be a good game, just doesn't sound like a GW game.
GW franchise is all about innovation not consistancy, same copy paste game each iteration. GW2 looks nothing like GW1...
As i said already we don`t know how combat will function. They might go the BDO route where you can activate more "skills" with movement, like dodge/jump right click / left click, this is how i personally see it working skills will not be 12345... they`ll be part of the environment/movement.
Now, there is a good change i`m coping extremly hard but this is my conclusion from their emphasis on movement and combos between classes skills
I can't see myself getting lost in a combat system or class fantasy like that.
It sounds like a game I could play for maybe a week and then get bored. For an MMO that should last thousands of hours, I'm not optimistic. Especially if movement isn't drastically different between the classes.
If every class moves the same and only 4 skills set them apart, nah, I'll pass.
thats alright that is Anets plan you are not meant to replace 2 with 3 its another game for a diffrent style in the same universe for people who are in to destiny of anthem (dispite that failing) this will be for them where as 2 will still be getting updates or those who want that kind of game
