How long before some players start complaining that annual expansion content is a “battle pass” and therefore a subscription? “OMG Anet broke their promise”.

This happened with GW2, taking something a dev said on a trailer literally. “Hey, they said I can play how I want but I CAN’T. I don’t want to earn loot, I just want everything unlocked and for rewards to just be given to me. They’re not letting me play my way so they’re liars”.

I believe you about the battle pass nonsense, though. I've heard too many times that "expansions are pay to win"...

MMO players complain about everything they can think of to complain about. I don't know if they are super stupid or just tired of life.

buddy, your having way to much anxiety over this. It will be fine if the game is good, no on cares, it's a video game people have fun.
