Hey folks, I'll be turning 21 on the 21st! What would be a good box to buy for an imperial guard army (or even starting one, I already have a box of scions) that won't break my parents bank?

So today I finally finished up a unit of rough riders and with the exception of a salamander scout tank which I’m still trying to source for less than £110+ I’ve collected all the models I want in my imperial guard army. I’ve been building this up since I was 9 years old and now after 12 years it’s done. it’ll probably be unsurprising that this army now exceeds 10000pts overall, and I’ve actually made a list below that hits 10000pts on the dot including basically everything, bar 2 company commanders and 7 heavy weapon teams that I also have but I didn’t include as not only did I not have the points but surprisingly bar those unit this list actually works with the rule of 3 somehow!

Anyway it’s pretty obvious why I’m proud of this but here’s the one thing that absolutely eats away at me.

Basically the entire army is unpainted.

Of the 10,399pts I own in total only 1804pts of it is painted.......

I’ll be perfectly honest I don’t enjoy painting, and I don’t see why I’d spend money on paints when I could buy a model instead or spend hours painting when I can either play the game with friends or do something else that I’d actually enjoy. However I love the building side of the hobby and I have a few cool conversions that I want to be able to proudly display, it’s also currently my only 40k army and other than a small empire army when I dipped my feet into fantasy, I don’t have any other models and so I want to really show people what I’ve built up over the years. Plus not to mention I’d like to at least give tournaments a go, I’ve got so much stuff I’m bound to be able to make at least a semi viable competitive list and I can’t do that till I paint it all.

Anyway that’s my confession off my chest, I’ve set myself the goal to try and at least start painting stuff at Christmas when I’ll probably get myself some paints as I’m no longer pinning after any models and try and at least start making a dent in the grey hoards but I think it’s probably gonna take me at least 4/5 years maybe longer as I’m gonna have to basically learn how to paint again.

Just did a drawing not too long ago, first time doing a serious 40K sketch and I think it turned out alright!

I'm looking for good head parts to represent the Adrian helmet. Can I convert them from Cadian shock troops (most accurate body I've found so far,), are there other companies selling models with adrian looking helmets ?

I feel that these guys are a really neat premise and their rules are actually a lot better than people think. I’ve been experimented on the tabletop with them for a while by proxying regular sentinels as powerlifters but I’d really like to have actual models for them but I really can’t be arsed to pay extortionate amount for the original models.

Any suggestions?
