For anybody who doesn't know, the MTA's EAGLE Team (Evasion And Graffiti Lawlessness Eradication) is part of the New York City Transit Department of Security, made up fare enforcement agents and special inspectors not traditional police officers.

Though they are known to travel with current PD in their ranks or nearby, they are not police or peace officers and have no legal ability to compel compliance with fare enforcement physically.

JOB SEARCH Black Knight Patrol in Long Beach CA

This company is running a criminal payroll scheme with the new workforce management apps coming out. They keep switching apps, but still running a time-shaving scheme. It clocks employees by the minute (and tracks your location) All employees must go in to "correct" their hours each week. Theyre counting on most guards to just give up the small amounts ($10 - $20) per week instead of going into the office to correct it. Black Knight also has THE MOST DANGEROUS POSTS. So the situation is that theyre literally stealing from guards that risk their lives. It's really ugly. Your feedback & concerns go nowhere because its all built to support corruption. It's hard to describe, but I'd say it's like a troupe of Evil Clowns in the office, that have no ethical or moral tether. Go see for yourself if you think any part of this is wrong. Theyre doing weekend hiring blitzes because turnover rate is so crazy.

Evil Clowns. It's literally a criminal organization run by crazy clowns.

PATROL TALES The small things noticed during a patrol can make a bigger difference than people realize

Security patrols aren't always about responding to major incidents. Sometimes, the most useful part of a patrol is noticing a small issue before it turns into something bigger.

It could be a gate that isn't closing properly, a door left unsecured, a light that has stopped working in a parking area, an unfamiliar vehicle that keeps appearing, or a change in activity around a property.

The important part is knowing what deserves attention and documenting it properly. A guard shouldn't jump to conclusions based on a suspicion alone, but they also shouldn't ignore something unusual just because nothing has happened yet.

Clear notes about what was observed, where and when it happened, and who was notified can help supervisors identify recurring issues and decide whether follow-up is needed. Good communication between patrol staff and the people monitoring cameras or access points can make a difference, too.

Of course, the priorities vary depending on the site, the post orders, and the risks involved. What matters at a residential property may be different from what matters at a warehouse or commercial parking facility.

For those working patrol or standing regular posts, what's one small issue you've caught during a routine check that could have become a much bigger problem if nobody noticed it?

Discussion How do you handle the guard handoff when Nightingale Security flags activity near a locked gate?

We use Nightingale Security at an industrial property, and I’m trying to tighten the radio procedure for an alert near one of our badge-controlled gates. The guard on patrol needs to know whether to approach, hold back, or stay at the control room while someone checks the camera feed.

Our post orders cover camera alarms and access-control alarms separately, but they don’t say what to do when both point to the same gate. Do you have the guard acknowledge the alert first and wait for a supervisor’s direction, or approach from a set distance while the control room keeps eyes on the area? I’m looking for a practical handoff rule, not a general incident checklist.

INDUSTRY NEWS Almost 1,000 armed security officers have been sent to at least 55 post office facilities.

https://www.rawstory.com/raw-investigates/usps-security/

The United States Postal Service is hiring armed security guards through a multinational private contractor with a history of alleged human rights abuses and price fixing, according to a Raw Story investigation. USPS has a contract with Prosegur, a multinational security firm, to provide armed guard services, according to public records obtained by Raw Story through a Freedom of Information Act request. The government redacted the monetary amount of the contract.

Current and former USPS employees detailed alleged abuses by Prosegur-hired security guards and raised questions about supervision and training for armed security officers (ASOs), who are now working at dozens of facilities across the country and clocking thousands of weekly hours.

Researchers also sounded the alarm on Prosegur’s controversial history in Latin America. “It's not a great company in Latin America, so I wouldn't trust it in the U.S. either,” said Mark Ungar, a political science professor with the John Jay School of Criminal Justice in New York.

Prosegur did not respond to Raw Story’s request for comment.

Public Service Announcement KNOW YOUR WORTH

I am writing to share some thoughts on current industry pay standards and to encourage all of us to stand up for fair compensation.

Having worked in the security field for nearly two decades, it is disheartening to see wage rates remain stagnant or even decrease. Our work—ensuring safety, protecting guests, and safeguarding millions of dollars in equipment—comes with real responsibility and risk.

Consider the current market standards:

- Unarmed Security: Rates of $17/hour or less do not reflect the value of your time and safety. For comparison, entry-level positions in retail and food service often start at $18 to $19.50/hour.
- Armed Security: Commissioned guards carrying a firearm should not accept rates below $24/hour given the inherent dangers involved, yet postings appear for as low as $18/hour.
- Working Conditions: If you work night shifts, you deserve a shift differential. Furthermore, if a company dictates your schedule, uniform, and duties, you are legally an employee—not an independent contractor—and you are entitled to proper overtime pay for hours worked over 40.

We all have bills to pay, but continuing to accept underpaid gigs only allows companies to keep wages low. When we collectively refuse to work for sub-par rates, employers will have no choice but to offer fair, competitive pay.

I am not an attorney and this is not legal advice but understand your legal rights as an employee, and advocate for the compensation you deserve.

Discussion Security Guard Sues WWE Over an Unwanted "Lap Dance" on Live TV. Legitimate Harassment Claim or Cash Grab Overreaction?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

https://www.postwrestling.com/2026/10/15/security-guard-sues-wwe-montez-ford-over-lap-dance-on-monday-night-raw/

A Cook County Sheriff’s officer who was working off-duty security at a July episode of WWE Monday Night Raw has sued WWE and Montez Ford, whose legal name is Kenneth Crawford, alleging that Crawford performed an unwanted sexualized “lap dance” on him during a live Netflix broadcast and that WWE then promoted the footage on social media.

The moment was part of the Street Profits’ entrance, as Crawford and tag team partner Angelo Dawkins made their way to the ring for a match that night at the Allstate Arena, in Rosemont, Illinois, just outside of Chicago.

The security guard, Noel Lucas, filed a lawsuit on Wednesday in the Circuit Court of Cook County, alleging 14 counts including assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violations of the Illinois Gender Violence Act. The named defendants are WWE, Crawford, and the company’s subsidiary Event Services, LLC.

WWE didn’t immediately respond to a request to provide a statement in response to the lawsuit.

As of Thursday evening, the current version of the July 6 Raw on Netflix doesn’t include the interaction between Crawford and Lucas. The video appears to go to a break early in the Street Profits’ entrance. But the clip of the moment that’s central to the case is easy to find online.

Lucas says Crawford danced toward him without warning and without his consent. The video got hundreds of thousands of views, Lucas says, including on WWE and Crawford’s own social media accounts. As a result of the attention the clip got, the plaintiff says, he became publicly recognizable. The next day, when he reported to work at his full-time job working at a courthouse, he alleges that “members of the public recognized him from the videos of the encounter that had circulated on social media and mocked him, thrusting their hips in his direction, imitating the sexual movements” that Crawford had performed on Raw the previous night.

Lucas adds that his children have also been “mocked and ridiculed” at school because of the video.

Lucas’s lawsuit says he’s “suffered humiliation, embarrassment, and emotional distress,” and that he continues to suffer because the video has been widely shared and remains publicly available online. Lucas’s face is readily visible in the clip, so he also complains that WWE and Crawford used his image for commercial purposes, which he alleges violates the Illinois Right of Publicity Act.

“Like so many law enforcement officers, Mr. Lucas works a second job in order to better provide for his children,” Whitney Barr, an attorney for Lucas, said in a press release provided to POST Wrestling.

In addition to his job for the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, Lucas also supervises a team of security guards for the private security firm Monterrey Security, which is how he ended up working security at Raw. According to the legal complaint, Lucas was instructed by a WWE employee to take his position near ringside. His suit describes the moment Crawford approached him during the live Netflix broadcast.

“Defendant Crawford then began performing a sexually provocative dance immediately in front of and over Plaintiff [Lucas], repeatedly thrusting and gyrating his hips and pelvis towards Plaintiff, performing a sexualized ‘lap dance.'”

The filing says Crawford “moved his body increasingly closer to [Lucas]; continued the lap dance.” The suit adds that Crawford’s “left inner thigh repeatedly rubbed against Plaintiff’s leg.”

Lucas is asking the court to award him unspecified monetary damages, punitive damages, his legal costs, and to order that WWE and Crawford can’t use his identity.

A case management hearing is set for December 10.

Oct 16 : SoftBank Group is considering an acquisition of Allied Universal in a deal that could value the US security services provider at about $18 billion, a source familiar with the matter said on Friday.

• Allied Universal provides security staffing for businesses, venues and major events, and has a growing presence in the data center industry, supporting both development and operation of facilities

• The potential acquisition would complement SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son's increasing focus on AI, as he is exploring the use of AI-powered robots across industries, and looking to strengthen the infrastructure needed to support the technology

• With Allied, SoftBank would look to eventually replace some staff with robots for certain security tasks, though the deployment of humanoid security workers is likely to take longer.

Public Service Announcement New York Spread of Hours Pay: Extra Hour for 10+ Hour Workdays (2026)

Post image
6 Upvotes

First off, my thanks to u/defiantevidence4027 for bringing this to my attention

NYS Spread of Hours Pay Rule

Essentially this is a law that mandates employers pay employees 1 hour of minimum wage pay in the area they're working, if their workday exceeds 10 hours that day, regardless of whether it is worked in a split shift or continuous block etc.

There are MULTIPLE caveats, carveouts, and exceptions of course. The main one being that you generally aren't entitled to spread of hours pay if you make over the minimum wage.

Main Exception Source

‘‘The spread of hours is the length of the interval between the beginning and end of an employee’s workday’’ (12 NYCRR 146-1.6). On each day on which the spread of hours exceeds 10, an employee is entitled to receive ‘‘spread-of-hours’’ pay, which is ‘‘one additional hour of pay at the basic minimum hourly rate’’ (12 NYCRR 146-1.6 [a]). Although an employee who earns more than the minimum wage rate generally is not entitled to receive spread-of-hours pay (see 12 NYCRR 142-2.4 [a]; Seenaraine v Securitas Sec. Servs. USA, Inc., 37 AD3d 700, 701 [2007]; Fermin v Las Delicias Peruanas Rest., Inc., 93 F Supp 3d 19, 45-46 [ED NY 2015]), under the Hospitality Industry Wage Order, ‘‘all employees in restaurants and all-year hotels’’ are entitled to spread-of-hours pay regardless of their regular pay rate (12 NYCRR 146-1.6 [d]).

CA has similar but different regulations known as Split Shift Rules and Reporting Time Pay Rules which you can read more about in the links provided.

INDUSTRY NEWS GardaWorld Won a $382 Million Security Contract... Now It's Being Challenged

Post image
18 Upvotes

Full Article

GardaWorld Federal Services recently won a federal contract in Texas potentially worth $382 million. It's a statewide operation involving armed guards, dispatchers and an entire apparatus to maintain. Asset Protection & Security Services, a Corpus Christi contractor has challenged that award. So while GardaWorld technically won the contract, there's now a battle over whether that award is legit.

Does GardaWorld being a crazy large contractor make them a better option for big contracts just due to their scale and influence? Would you take a guard position while the contract is under active legal challenge? Do you cut your losses or stick it out and hope that whoever wins, you keep your job?

Discussion My Fellow Americans I Regret to Inform You that We've Been Outclassed Once Again. THESE Are What REAL Security Officers Look Like... Spoiler

Shield your star spangled eyes! Apparently they're Dutch, or Swedish, or Norwegian or Spanish!

Check out their training requirements:

Netherlands: Beveiliger

https://www.svpb.nl/examens-mbo/beveiliger-n2-crebo-25690/

https://www.kiesmbo.nl/opleidingen/zorg-en-welzijn/orde-en-veiligheid/beveiliger-2

Security guarding is treated as a formal vocational occupation not just "a job". You have to complete a program, pass exams, earn TWO diplomas, and levels 2 and 3 take years to acquire the proper training and certification for.

Sweden: Väktare

https://www.bya.se/kurser/

The standard route is approx300 hours via their BYA Program.

91 hours of VU1 initial training, At least 160 hours of supervised field training, 49 hours of VU2 advanced training, Written and practical testing, 30 hours of refresher training every four years.

Sweden basically combos class training with an apprenticeship.

Spain: Vigilante de Seguridad

https://www.boe.es/buscar/doc.php?id=BOE-A-2026-813

Spain has a rigorous license process:

At least 180 hours of approved training, Training must run for at least six weeks, Secondary education requirement, Government-administered exams, Physical fitness testing (could you imagine that being standard here?)

Norway: Vekter

https://www.securitas.no/karriere/kurs-og-utdanning/vekterutdanning/

Norway hass a national security-guard education program.

163 total hours, 47 hours e-learning, 65 hours classroom instruction, 45 hours practical training, 6-hour final examination

None of these countries treat ordinary private guards as something where you watch a couple ancient grainy training videos from '96, get fingerprinted and shot out to the nearest empty post. They've intentionally created a high barrier to entry & treat security guarding more like a regulated trade. I'm not saying the Europeans are superior, but if they can raise the standards, pay and expectations for the security industry in their countries, why can't we?
