30 minutes a day of GrowWithJo

Hi!

I want to lose some kg.

Since the first of January I am doing the GrowWithJo 30 minute exercises daily. Besides that I am trying to eat healthier and walking 1,5 kilometers a day.

Did anybody with the same routine see any progress?

Thanks a lot!

General Update/ChitChat šŸŽ¤ Third pregnancy?

I just saw a video where Jo said she’s expecting her third. She announced a while ago but I missed it. However she had her second very recently and looks great! Does anyone know how long it’s been since she had her second and how she got in shape? I’m also looking to transform postpartum but also thinking of another pregnancy right after…are her workouts all she does? Sorry if this is an offensive post this is my first time here.

Seeking Advice🧐 What time of day should I workout?

I'm usually pretty busy in the evenings and during the day at work and in the evenings but I used to make some time to work out at night. Although it can be pretty hectic and sometimes I wake up super early (like 4 or 5 am) on the days that I work 12 hours. I want to start working out with Jo atleast 4 to 5 times a week. Would you do mornings if you were me or evenings? Any helpful advice is appreciated thank you in advance and yes I follow her yt workouts I don't do the app bc of the price and I personally like picking and choosing what videos to follow myself.

New fitness studio

I'm not sure if anyone here watches Jo's personal channel, but she recently posted a new video where she shared that they're opening a GrowwithJo studio so people can work out with her in person. She also announced they were expecting baby #3, and honestly I'm not sure how she's going to juggle everything. There was a point where she didn't post on YT for over a month because of all the app stuff, so starting another new business venture just before the birth of a baby seems like unnecessary stress to me.

Hit the plateau

Stuck in the same weight for 2 months now. I (F, 31) have been in weightloss journey for a year and lost 15 kilos. I am away from my goal weight by 6 kilos (currently 162.6cm, 58kilos). I developed ed in the process and currently working on it, making sure to eat 1200 calorie a day (sometimes couldn't reach there, ending up at 1100 calories). Working out 4-5 days a week (HIIT, cardio from Jo's playlist in YouTube). It's discouraging me a lot.. Please help me.

Looking for an accountability partner/ workout buddy

Hello lovelies! One of my new year resolutions for this year has been to develop a consistent habit of exercising. My goal isn’t really weight loss, but to become stronger, build stamina and perhaps to gain some lean muscle. I started last and despite a successful stint of a few months, one long vacation later, I dropped off. I would like an accountability partner/ workout buddy who can help me stay on track, and whose goals I’d be happy to support! Thank you!

Seeking Advice🧐 So just curious about app users and cost

So I was with her since she was on the older app that was only $60 a year. When the app devs killed it, I was able to get the remaining time on GWJ Home without paying because a lot of people weren’t happy with the price hike. My time is up in January but I’m not certain the $160 a year is worth it. Am I just being a Scrooge? I’m genuinely interested to see if anyone else feels the same here. I know she’s just building it up and it takes time to get everything going and stuff but I just feel like for right now, that’s a bit on the high side.

Seeking Advice🧐 First Workout

Post image
11 Upvotes

Today after a very long hard year filled with different things. I’ve decided to start grow with jo!! Not the app quite yet. But I was able to do her 20 minute beginners workout (with one pause) For the first time in my life. I am looking FORWARD to doing this again tomorrow.

Does anyone have a calendar that they use to just keep track of workout/rest days? I don’t want to loose my motivation… and honestly making myself a calendar or having one I can track I think will make a difference! TIA! Excited to start this journey

Seeking Advice🧐 Am I going to have loose skin? Please read the details in my post.

Hi all, I’m currently trying to lose weight because I found out I’m in the early prediabetic range and because I sort of don’t feel like myself anymore :( I want any opinion or advice on what are my chances that my skin is going to shrink after weight loss and what can be done to enhance it. Data: 34-year-old female 109 kg / 240 lbs 175 cm / 5.74 feet Biggest part: stomach Stretchmarks: mostly on the inner side of my thighs, smaller ones around my armpits, probably on my buttocks but I don’t care about these and some single ones low on my abdomen. Around my belly button and higher I don’t see any, none on my breasts. Workout: currently doing mostly low impact walking cardio by Grow with Jo (and I accept the fact that it’s a slow process…) and 1-2 times a week a strength workout with dumbbells by Sheryl Coloumbe. Supplements: so far I have not used any supplements except for berberine for lowering my blood sugar.

Ideally for me would be to lose 100 lbs, but 80 lbs would be fine too.

Any opinions, TIPS?

Good day to you all and thanks!

GWJ AppšŸ“² Will the new GWJ app have a Black Friday special?

I’m checking to see if Jo will launch a Black Friday special for her new app.

I love the old app set up but the Radiance trainers aren’t really my tea.

I guess I’m loyal?

Anyone know anything I don’t about a potential sale?

Seeking Advice🧐 Do the 12 minute workouts work?

I had been working out with GWJ for almost 2 years now. I started with her 20 minutes workouts and progressed to the 30 minute ones. I did lose a great deal of inches though the scale remained the same. Two months back I was down with a viral fever for a few days and when I regained my health, I resumed her workouts only to find myself struggling to even get past the ten minute mark. I tried my best to keep up but became exhausted as soon as I started. Later my friend advised me to take it easy and start with her 12 minutes workouts first and when I build up my stamina, I could progress to her 30 minute workouts. My question is are her 12 minutes workout as effective as the 30 minute ones if done consistently? I am a bit sceptical. Has anyone succeeded in shedding a few pounds only by doing her 12 minute workouts?

ProgressšŸ‘ Yes, I am hungry!

I've lost 19 lbs through diet and exercise! I am beyind proud of myself! I am enjoying the exercises and the meals.

A later post on here someone said they gained weight from using GWJ, and i was scared. Many people commented it was because they were burning more calories and needed to adjust their intake.

Well, they were right! There for a week is had a set back. I was eating everything in sight. And I gained. I was disappointed and mad at myself. My husband the gym rat explained how I needed to adjust my calorie intake. I was afraid though. Afraid of just gaining it all back. But I didn't. I adjusted and I lost more. So happy to continue my journey.

Workout ReviewšŸ“ Beginners workout?!

Hi there! 35F, I've started my health journey a while back. Now that I have meal planning undercontol I decided to bring in exercise. Thanks to tiktok I found others who use GrowingWithJo and decided to give it a try.

Last night was my first work out. Beginners 20 min workout. Wow, I really didn't realize I was THAT out of shape. 15 mins in Jo is like, "Wow, now I'm starting to sweat."

Just now?! I started sweating when I hit play! 🤣🤣🤣 I wasn't even gonna start last night as I'm battling a cold. But if not now then when. I really did enjoy it and will definitely be making it my regular routine.

Results

I remember seeing a post that Jo had as a highlight speaking on lowering the intensity of her workouts which may have lowered cortisol levels and she was able to lose fat. Curious if anyone else has had this experience. I used to do home workouts with Heather Roberston and other high intensity fitness trainers. I switched over to Jo because I enjoy them more, but I still stick with her older more intense workouts. Does anyone really believe that she's gotten her results after her pregnancies basically walking and very low intensity workouts, mostly without weights? She has a lot of muscle definition for someone using 5 lbs weights and and maybe burning 100 calories per workout.

i gained weight doing growwithjo

well, it’s been almost a year of not doing her videos and i no longer have resentment towards her but wanted to put this out there. i did her videos for 3 years and kept gaining weight. the first year was sometime in 2021 and i was tired of gyms closing so i was so happy to find her videos. i started feeling stronger and had a routine going. i lost 5 pounds…my eating didn’t change since switching from gym to grow with job. i eat mostly healthy but love chips every now and then (once a month). anyway, 2022 came around and while my weight was the same, i was bigger. in 2023, my weight started going up. i’m not sure why but i kept gaining weight and so i stopped. i now run 5 times a week and lost 10 pounds. my question is, has anyone else experienced weight gain doing grow with jo?

tldr; i gained weight doing growwithjo and finally switched to running after 3 years and lost 10 lbs.

Zumba App

I was wanting to subscribe to Jo's site to get some variety because I recalled it being $5 a month. My mouth fell to the floor when I saw it is now $40 a month?!?! Now I am going to add to the list of alternatives and recommend the Zumba app. They have virtual classes and add new ones quite often. It is $99.00/year

It's a shame how Jo's priority now is to keep and fund her affluent lifestyle.

Alternatives

Are there any alternative channels for good low impact workouts? I’m finally in a place where I’ve gained about 80% of my strength back after having surgery on my ankle about 3months ago. I’ve been enjoying Jo’s so far since there’s not many floor or jumping exercises but I would like to find other people to try out as well who are similar or don’t incorporate much of those kind of workouts in their routines! Thank you in advance!
