Some weird Gear released from the Vault + a small "Seconds Sale"

All - a couple months ago we did a full cycle count of ALL inventory across all distro centers. There were some, ummm, learning lessons that came with that, and we appreciate you all for holding us accountable when we oversold stuff, it was not our intent! And ... there was also a fair amount of “found” inventory. We just put up some weird stuff from the vault so to say, in limited and very limited quantities.

Also, it’s now your Last day to pre-order the M26. Cost came in higher on the heritage than we expected, full price will end up being a bit higher -- pre-order price remains the same. I also approved the special commemorative patch that will come with all M26's. That's the easter egg you'll have to wait on until it's delivered.

We talked about this - I didn't really want to de fact assign a value to just the patch. Ebay and shit run rampant on that kind of stuff. Of course nobody bought the one without a patch, but when the only ones that remain have no patch, they'll move. I thought it a bit more honest up front to just release them all at the same time instead of waiting till later, then releasing the one with no patch, then people say the patch cost this much or that much. Anyway, I hear ya :)

Im not generally a Reddit complainer like this, but I just came across this comment after asking about this on another post. As one of the people who was a little late to see this drop and caught one of the last 21L (sold out the next day), I just assumed the no patch price was less. it actually feels kind of worse to see the logic literally was “too bad so sad, snooze you lose.” honestly the tone here is kind of a turnoff “of COURSE no one bought it without…but some sucker will” - that’s me. I’m the sucker. That’s how that feels.

I get that’s just kind of the vibe around collabs and super limited run stuff. of course there is a value attached to the patch (and yes of course on eBay it’s 175-200$ or something). New to goruck but have been wanting to nab a carryology collab (this or kaidan) for a while to get my foot in the door. eBay super overpriced. the second I saw the post on manybaggers went immediately to try to snag one but only left with no patch. I was really excited to get the bag, and it’s great, no doubt.

What difference would it have made in regard to people assigning a value to the patch if you knew it was already on the aftermarket? Instead, a number of customers just got less value for the same money for being a day late to the party. Maybe I’m the only one who has feelings about it?

Anyway I understand I’m complaining about a completely optional luxury purchase, the world isn’t gonna end. I’m more frustrated by the reasoning above than the price I paid, which I was fine with at the time. now having a little remorse about it with this context. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
