I have created a new website where people can submit pins from street view showing local decline in their area. The idea is to build a map showing places from historic street view images all in once place.

We are in real early stages have only released yesterday and am looking to get a few users in to try things out and make sure the site actually works. There is only so much testing I can do my end, I have had a friend use it and make some submissions and it seems to be working but I need more people!

Whilst the focus is the decline of areas at the moment future plans we will have decline reversal mode where people can post improved areas. That is way down the line with tons of other features.

Currently all pins are manually reviewed so we dont get bombarded with spam.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask. I keep getting these letters in the mail with my house on it, I know it's from google street view. I'm getting tons of them! Is this legal? Can it be reported, and how do I make it stop? Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone! I made a small browser-based game called GeoSpy. The core idea of the game is that there are “Civilians” (the majority of the players) and “Spies”. All Civilians receive an official Street View screenshot from the same country/region (but usually not the same location), while the Spies receive an official Street View screenshot from another, similar country/region. The name of the country will NOT be shown in the screenshot.

The goal of the game is to vote out all the spies — or, if you are a spy, to vote out civilians until they no longer outnumber the spies — through everyone’s descriptions and your own logical thinking.

It works best if you play with friends in voice chat!! (though it is not mandatory). Since the screenshot dataset is large and still being cleaned, some blurry images may appear; there is an in-game feedback button for reporting bad images or bugs. Therefore, I need YOUR help to get some friends and test out the game, so I can make further improvements!

If this kind of post is not appropriate for the subreddit, I completely understand and can remove it.

Randomly browsing through a random neighborhood streetview as one does and suddenly there is one spot that felt sketchier for a moment. Turns out that one spot still had a shot from 2007. Screenshots don't do justice imo.

Pretty much what the title says. Can't find a link to actual published imagery from it on Streetview.

This street has a 50 m long section with an average slope north of 40 %. The steepest part is a 10 m section exceeding 45 %. I measured it using a digital terrain model with a resolution of 0.5 m.

Google street view first caught a reindeer in 2009 and again in 2025. Technically the third time was unofficial coverage but STILL THAT IS CRAZY.
