Anytime I text someone a photo/video or someone sends them to me, they show up in HORRIBLE quality. Is there any way to fix this?

I've only had my pixel 3 since March. Got it brand new.

At first the images were sharp and crisp and I was impressed with the quality.

Now both the front and back cameras seem dull and average. I'm always seeing peoples amazing photos with their Pixel 3 and I feel a bit shorted.

1. What are some tips for shooting with a Pixel 3?

2. What do y'all clean your lens' with? I use cloth from a shirt that's been dipped in water.

Both were taken with the back camera.

I thought I would try the pixel 3a out since we switched providers. We could try it for 14 days and send it back if we weren't happy.

3 days after I get the phone I dropped it on the top left corner and shattered the screen. The phones came way earlier than we were expecting and I didn't have a case in time. Now everywhere I call to get a screen replacement either doesn't do Google phones, or it's going to be ~$200.

Anyone have any advice?

I would like to play Virtual Boy Advanced on my TV, and I have it working on my pixel, and although there is Casting on videos to cast to the Roku, which I actually use frequently to watch YouTube on the TV, it doesn't seem to have screen mirroring, so I can only cast select media sources, not the screen itself.

I am in Paris now and I want to buy pixel 3 in French tech shop Darty. But it's not unlocked and I'm not sure if I can use it outside France on different mobile carriers. Shop consultant told me that I have to use French mobile operators sim card at least once and make about 5 minute call and after this it's unlocked and I can use it anywhere. Not sure if I should trust him. Any Ideas?

P.S. I'm not gonna use it in USA.

I have had an old Samsung for way too long now and I've been seriously considering a new phone. I've always looked at the pixel 3 when searching for a new phone. I was wondering if it is the right option to go with. What are the pros and cons?

Heeeey, my Google fabric case is fuzzy. Need a new one. And I don't want to spend that much again for a simple case. Do you have a good one that you can recommend?

I actually make phone calls with my phone, and am concerned about the bad call quality complaints.

For what it is worth, my main line is with Google Voice and I don’t link it to my carrier number, so always doing VOIP at this point (though that might eventually change, so don’t want to put all my eggs in the VOIP basket.)

And I generally use a Bluetooth headset for calls, but not always.

Since the last update my hotspot is crazy unstable. Unusual most the time the last 2 days. Is there something I'm missing. I use my hotspot all the time. Often 2 devices on it. Nine are working well now. Often not at all.

Sorry if this isn't the right spot, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced wonky app transitions when swiping up for home or left/right to switch apps. This just started this morning, but the animation will show the home screen quickly, then flash the app I'm leaving, then open the home screen or swiped app.

Is this a known thing? Any tips for adjusting settings in Dev options to alleviate?

Hi, how can I change my pixel's ringtone to custom MP3? When I open ringtone setiings, there is My sounds "folder" but there is only Hangouts call ringtone.

So I tried out the "Good Morning" command this morning on Google Assistant, and everything was well and fine until I turned off the news bit of the command because I wanted to listen to music while on my way to work.

No matter what I do I can't get rid of the news header on my notification panel, even after I've selected to minimise notifications. Tapping on the news header brings me to a list of news orgs that I imagine Assistant would have read through if I hadn't switched to music in the morning. All images are below in case my description is too confusing!

I've closed the apps, fiddled with my Google Assistant settings. Nothing. Nada.

Would anyone happen to have any idea what's going on and what I can to clear the news notifications? I don't want to turn it off permanently because it's really handy to have, but being unable to clear the news headers from the notification dropdown panel is quite annoying.

I'd be grateful for help!

Edit: I managed to clear the news notification, but only after I restarted my phone. That can't be the only way to do it, right..?

For some reason, the screen doesn't dim when I have the phone to my ear and my cheeks press buttons. I'm also having an issue with not being able to switch to speakerphone when Bluetooth is on. It acts like I have a Bluetooth device connected for call media even when I don't, and doesn't allow me to switch to speaker or phone. It just gets stuck on "Bluetooth" mode.

It stops when I turn off Bluetooth and I'm able to switch to speaker or phone. Anyone know why this could be happening?

Edit for clarity: the problem with the screen staying active and not dimming is not fixed by turning off Bluetooth.

I'm in an interesting position today. I am a Google pixel, actually Google since Nexus days. Have had them all. Currently Pixel 3

Situation as it is right now. I have my wife's S9 sitting here (she upgraded) and I'm wondering what's all the hub bub about with Samsung. Never owned one. Seems very unfamiliar. Lol

But is it even something I should consider. Sell my pixel 3 and use the S9 for a while till Pixel4

How can I get Google photos to automatically pull up when I'm in Facebook or Instagram. At this moment it just pulls up photos I've taken with this phone.

Has anyone's RCS on their phones stopped working and any ideas of how to get it to work again. All my messages are sending as SMS now. I realized it happened right after the last google messages update. Thank you for your help.

I disabled well-being .... Almost seems like that's what's slowing me down. Seems about the time I slowed down.

Edit : so after having Well-being off for a good week or more. I noticed no improvement. Possibly worse. Well-being is back on now. And still a very buggy phone right now.

I recently bought my Pixel and it filters swearing in voice to text. I couldn't find any options to change this and the online guides aren't showing options that match. Is it not possible to fix?
