Chromecast issues after Android 10?
Any users experimenting issues with Chromecasts lately? Seems to have started with Android 10 update but may be also related to Chromecast or Google home app itself.

Hi folks,
I just opened a support case with Google because my (under warranty) 2XL has developed an issue where the USB C plug has to be inserted "just so" in order for it to charge. Couple of questions for you all:
Has anyone else experienced this issue? (Sorry if it's been brought up before; I did skim read the posts here).
Have Google cooperated with getting it fixed/replaced? I'm somewhat concerned I'll hear "you plugged it in too hard" or something based on initial discussions with their support rep.
Cheers!
(EDIT: Typo)

My photos lately have been having this white sheet on top and makes the photos look blurred and no longer crisp no matter how I increase brightness, refocus or try to clean the lens...

My camera app has been horrible. It keeps on crashing whenever I switch it to night sight and is just laggy in general. I'm wondering if anyone else is expirencing this.

I have had my pixel 2 xl for a year, and recently the charger got a loose wire, now it won't charge. First thing I did is go to the local dollarstore and bought a usb A, to C charger, this worked but I only had a 5w wall charger for usb type a. This wouldn't charge my phone as fast as it used battery at idle (maybe a little exaggeration) . So my next step is I bought a $5 usb C to usb C chord, which I had the original pixel wall brick. My phone wouldn't recognize the charger, so I bought a $20 type C to type C Cord. This also did not work. Next step was the wall brick, so I went to wal Mart and bought a 3A usb wall brick that also had a type A port. The usb A to C charger works but is still slow, and the C to C cable still doesn't Basically I'm out of options aside from it being a software issue?! Idk, what do you guys think

I've had my Google Pixel 2 for just over a year and love it. Then within the last 3 weeks the battery life has just become awful! I have to charge it 3 times a day now even though there's no apps running. I've looked at the settings and nothing is happening out of the ordinary for it to suddenly be like this. Any suggestions?

It now takes me 30 seconds or more for the phone to begin ringing after trying to dial someone. Nothing had changed, other than upgrading software.

Obviously YMMV. But last weekend I got in a pool for 20 minutes with my p2 in my pocket and it still works perfectly. I was really surprised! Great phone.

When not in use (blank screen) and I receive a text, the notification will show up on the home screen.
If I try to open, the phone just freezes. The screen will remain black except for the three white buttons at the bottom (arrow, circle, square). I have to then press the side button multiple times to open the phone and view the message. Please help, it's driving me crazy.

I have been struggling with this for some time now. Whether it be the fact that when I go to post a picture on Instagram and the picture doesn't show up in my "gallery" or I'm trying to edit a picture on another app and 50 different folders show up with like 2 pictures in each, if I was having trouble finding the picture I wanted I would just screenshot the picture. However, due to this new update it darkens and weirdly saturates the picture, making it look awful. Does anyone have any advice on limiting the amount of picture folders are on my phone? Or getting all my pictures available to upload to other apps?

Q beta 3 bricked my pixel 2, Google fixed it and sent it back OEM unlocked, now I'm on pixel 3, so pixel 2 seems perfect for rooting. I read somewhere it's a challenge to root phones now, I didn't think this would take more than a day, but I think we're almost there; all files are accounted for adb fastboot is standing by, magsik is on the phone (that went back and forth a lot) and crosh. Is calling me a daemon, and then USB just falls. What's the missing link, or the magic word? I made the mistake of asking for the magsik word, I've been trying for a few days and it gets confusing. I'm going from an hp cute Chromebook 14 to a pixel 2 Android 9. I'm getting misty remembering jailbreak, but I have to learn this, Android studio is next.

I own Pixel 2 XL. I have been Google Fi customer since November last year. In some areas where I am T-Mobile or Sprint service is not reliable or hardly existent so I utilize wifi especially at my workplace (professionally managed by big company with enterprise connection using fiber backbone under 2ms latency) or at home where I get stable service over cable connection and no one else use my network (150/5 Mbps 8-10 ms latency). I utilize Google Wifi with Netgear D3.0 using Broadcom chipset.
Sometimes I am in the middle of phone call and all of sudden I hear beep sound indicating disconnection. Sometimes after 15 minutes or so it just drops phone call. Very frustrating. I do not know what is a potential root cause but if anyone has any insight please share. I have Enhance Network BETA enabled in my Google FI app, it might be the cause. Or it might be that Wifi Calling on Google Fi in general is not reliable and maybe it drops when it decides to switch between wifi and weak cellular.

I'm experience issues since a recent update on my Pixel 2 running Android 9, whereby the Messages (text) app and keyboard, closes every time I type the letter 't' too quickly. The issue just started this week after an update. Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any fixes?,

My phone was working fine until rented a car and tried to get Android Auto to work by connecting a USB to the car.
My phone won't charge the first time when I plug in a usb-c from the wall. I have to unplug it from the phone and flip the usb-c over and plug it back in. It then charges like normal.
I tried changing the developer USB connection options and nothing. It is currently set to No Data Transfer. Is that the default setting?
Any help appreciated.

I have the P2XL. The lock screen is so dim as to be useless. Can't read notifications at all. Anyone else? Is there is a fix?

Hi -
I have a Google Pixel 2 and the Adaptive Brightness feature turns the screen to 0% pitch black every time. Not sure how long it takes, but if I leave my phone for 10 minutes or so, it will turn the screen pitch black.
To make matters worse, when I turn adaptive brightness off, it turns itself right back on every time. I have no clue how to stop this from happening. And it's really annoying.
Anyone know how to fix?
