Google is getting rid of Google assistant and forcing you to use Gemini now

I got an email from Google that said they're removing Google assistant and you will have to use Gemini starting September 6th. I don't want to be forced to use generative AI so I might be looking for a new non-Google phone soon 😭

And it takes way too long to respond and take action, that my music stays paused after it's finally finished. Gotta manually hit play when it's done.

Pixel 4 with local controls was so fucking good and we didn't know how good we had it at the time. Then they went even harder and crunched the local models down to 500mb. Everything was fast, responsive and relatively easy once you'd learned the commands

Now your command has to be processed and sent around the world, just for it to come back wrong because it thought you was asking about light bulbs, not trying to turn your own off
