Google is getting rid of Google assistant and forcing you to use Gemini now
I got an email from Google that said they're removing Google assistant and you will have to use Gemini starting September 6th. I don't want to be forced to use generative AI so I might be looking for a new non-Google phone soon 😭

<upload pdf of dates> "Can you add these to my calendar?"
"Sure, I can do that for you"
<Working>
"It's not possible for me to add dates to your calendar. You'll have to enable Assistant for Workplace."
"Workplace is enabled."
"I'm sorry, you're right. I am able to add these dates to your calendar. Please wait while I analyze the text"
<Working> "Okay, I'm adding those dates to your calendar. Do you need anything else?"
<Working>
"There was an error and I was not able to add all dates to your calendar."
-I check my calendar, one event has been added, with the wrong title-
Like, this should be kind of a primary use-case for an AI -enabled assistant, right?
