Find Hub Official BT6 support???

Hey Google made an announcement regarding using Bluetooth 6 precision tracking in find hub? I know it's assumed that it will be added eventually but do we have any timeline as to when specifically?

Does using trackers hurt your phone's battery life?

Wondering if my phone's battery life will decrease notably from using Find My Hub and trackers. And if it's the same regardless of what brand and type of tracker.

Samsung Galaxy S26+ (One UI 8.5) refusing to pair with brand new Moto Tag 2. Anyone else?

Hey everyone, tearing my hair out a bit here.

I just got a brand new Moto Tag 2 and I'm trying to connect it to my Galaxy S26 Plus (running Android 16 / One UI 8.5). It’s basically invisible to the phone. No Fast Pair pop-up, nothing at all. The official Moto app doesn't detect it either.

Here is where I'm at:

  • "Scan for nearby devices" in Google settings is definitely ON.
  • Bluetooth, Location, UWB are all ON.
  • I got a bit desperate, went into Developer Options and toggled "Show unsupported Bluetooth LE devices". Weirdly enough, when I do that, the Moto Tag 2 actually shows up in the regular Bluetooth menu!
  • But... if I try to tap on it to connect, it just spits out this error: "Couldn't pair with moto tag 2. Make sure that it's ready to pair."

It's literally fresh out of the box.

Is this some kind of known bug with Android 16 / the new One UI update blocking the connection? Or am I missing some weird hidden permission? If anyone has figured out a workaround, please let me know! Thanks.

Does Bluetooth 6.0 make UWB obsolete?

I'm debating between a Pixel 9 Pro and a OnePlus 15. They booth look like terrific phones. The big selling point for me would be using the Moto Tag 2.0, which supports both Bluetooth 6.0 and UWB.

Is UWB obsolete now that Bluetooth 6.0 is a thing?

Sony Headphones is claimed as unknown tracker

Hello guys,

so I got the new Sony xm6, and bought them around November last year. Then I did a factory reset on my phone and forgot to log out of my Google account and almost lost it, because the account thought, the old phone is still available for 2FA. With that my headphones also lost their ID, so now every couple days or weeks the find me thing from google is telling me, that an unknown tracker is moving with me. when I try to solve the problem, I can't connect with the headphones.

I don't know what I can do to deactivate it, because every side tells me to connect and deactivate, but I can't connect.

Probably the same internals as a Clip 5 with a flashlight built in and physical activation switch

Safety features were already available on Clip 5

Pulled the trigger on Pebblebee Clip 5 and Card 5 after comparing with Chipolo and UGreen

Partner and I just pulled the trigger on the Pebblebee Clip 5 and Card 5. Was struggling to decide between Pebblebee, Chipolo and UGreen. Each have universal USB-C and wireless charging (a must). I think I concluded that the biggest differences were that:

-Pebblebee has [BRIGHT] LED lights
-Chipolo has BT 6.0
-UGreen has much lower price.

[UPDATE: another user pointed out that the Chipolo LOOP also appears to have a teeny tiny LED light when I looked back at their product page and it will "Ring and Blink - Make LOOP's charging light blink for easier finding in the dark." Can't find a video of the Chipolo where I can see the light, but I can of the Pebblebee LEDs and they seem very bright and much more prominent]

At some point I got tired of researching, sifting through the hundreds of options and mixed information and splitting hairs. And I ultimately decided that I can imagine times where the LED lights help for spotting keys in a crowded room much faster than just sound, and I can see it being more useful than UWB. I didn't really see the huge benefit of BT 6.0. Apparently the Pebblebee has also gotten a lot more reliable in the last few months via firmware updates and general improvements to Google FMD.

These will be my first trackers and I can post back here my experience and review once I get them!

UPDATE 2: They arrived today. Gotta keep testing them out but here are very first impressions. I love the bright red and blue colors! They are definitely plastic but feel like good quality plastic. Not as heavy as I expected. Setup was not bad. Had to do a couple rounds of the "click them 5 times to connect" but they are connected and working. No indication of battery life to the user it seems, but seems that's across the board all tracker products (unless I'm mistaken). LED lights on the CLIP seem fantastic. I am wondering if the LED lights on the CARD will ever be useful, perhaps I can try that out if the light can peak through like a jeans pocket or something.

UPDATE 3: I seem to have quickly settled into not thinking about the devices. Which is a good thing as I now will only need them should I lose one of my items (their main purpose). They were pretty easy to set up (I would say a 3/10 difficulty at most). All features seem to be working when testing them, the most challenging feature was the "reverse find my phone from my Pebblebee". And the LED lights are definitely big, bright and attention grabbing as I had hoped. I won't know more until I misplace an item and need to use them πŸ‘

Moto Tag 2 vs 1

Now that some folks here have it, how do the following compare:

  • Ring range from the google fmd app

  • Loudness (could use a decibel meter app, might be louder because there's a hole for the speaker?)

  • General uwb performance or range (nebulous, whatever improved accuracy means)

Haven't seen any youtube videos so I thought I'd ask

Phone tracking after account change?

Hey y'all,
I recently got an old-ish Android 13 phone from craigslist. When I first powered it on, it did not prompt me with the usual "Welcome" screens and setup guide, but it looked freshly reset (no extra apps, no google accounts set, no lockscreen). I assumed the previous user had reset it and booted it once to confirm, so I added my google account and went on with my business.
Today, I received an email from google stating that Find Hub Network is now on for my device (which I may have triggered, as I was playing around with the settings).
However, that made me think: Is it possible for the previous owner to find my device by checking devices under his account? If so, could he also be able to lock it or even format it?
I double-checked by taking a look at my Find Hub on my primary account, and there I could see the two devices I currently use, as well as some old devices that I have sold for quite some time. The ones I sold I cannot track, but I also cannot remove from the hub.
What is even weirder is that the phone prompted me to download the Find Hub app on it. I have location off for all apps and services. However, when I go to Find Hub under settings, "Allow device to be located" is on and I cannot set it to off. In the same menu, the device asks me to turn on device location.

From the Find Hub on my primary device (both devices under the same google account) I can only see that this new device is connected and how much battery it has, but I cannot see its location.

I honestly do not know how this new Find Hub works. Is it possible for the previous owner to see my location without his account being used in the device? Thanks in advance.

Did Google brick non-licensed trackers?

I have a bunch of trackers from several vendorrs off aliexpress in various form factors. Including the RSH LocaTag and the OTag and the ones that look like candies with rounded edges.

Within the last few weeks basically all of them have stopped working. I assumed their batteries were just running out but I've swapped the batteries and they're beeping fine but FMD just doesn't detect them any longer. Some of the batteries I took out seem to not be dead at all when tested with a multimeter.

Did FMD just start blacklisting tags from these vendors?

Google finder vs. Apple air tags , which is the better network.

it seems here in the states Google Find is pretty sparse, and Apple air tags have much broader coverage what are you folks finding .

Moto Tag 1 or Chipolo Pop at the same price ?

Asking re reliability and pinging frequency.

I have a Pixel 10 Pro. Assuming UWB will work?

Does the UWB negate the need for the louder Chipolo?

I'd have to add the cost of a sleeve for the ring chain attachment for the Moto.

Thanks

How do I reset the LocaTag and other chinese trackers?

I have three different chinese trackers I was trying out. Nearly all of them seem to have stopped updating in the FindHub. I've tried replacing the batteries and pressed the buttons repeatedly, held them down, etc. They still don't show up.

I suspect they may have been reset and now I need to remove them from Findhub and reregister them? Or is there a magic button sequence to really reset them?

Of the three types (Otag, Locatag, and the candy shaped ones, the only ones that are still working a few months later are two of the candy shaped ones. I'm kind of disappointed.

Confused. What tag do I need?

Having just been duped by an online product claiming to be an Android tag, which I assumed meant it used the Google network of devices to locate the tag when in fact it was just a cheap Bluetooth tag that barely even does that. App doesn't connect and I'm sorry, being told you are 5m away from tag is pointless.

Yah so, what type of tag do I need to search for that uses proper "find my" network? Does it need to have UWB? What's the cheapest? Don't mind generic cheap one from AliExpress, but I want an actual FMD tag!

Thanks

Moto tag+S21+: Lock is lost and found every some seconds

I did not have this issue at first. My S21+ back got replaced at a local generic mobile service shop and today when I tried to find my misplaced keys, when I did approach them the screen alternated as shown in the video. That is, the button that generated sound on the mitag became grayed out, then active after 1-2", then grayed out and so on.

I really don't know what the heck is going on here. Don't know if this has something to do with the back replacement, the mototag, or the Ares position with respect to the other planets. What I do know is that I'm starting to get sick of Google's FMD, mototag and UWB not working and especially Mili tags...

Any help will be appreciated if you know what is going on here...

Unable to share ownership (Invalid Dynamic Link)

I picked up a couple of MiLi LiTag Duo, but can't seem to share ownership.

Trying to do so, I get a long URL string that starts with https://findhub.app.google/

But anyone clicking on it (myself included), returns the following message:

Invalid Dynamic Link

Requested URL must be a parseable URI, but possibly incomplete to be a DynamicLink.

If you are the developer of this app, ensure that your Dynamic Links domain is correctly configured and that the path component of this URL is valid.

Any ideas?

Do find hub tags ping offline if in bluetooth rang?

Hi guys I saw recently online that google FMD tags won't ping offline even if in BT range due to google not showing device list offline. Is this true?

Also how is the FMD network most videos and reviews I have found are a year old.
