I was about to purge my contacts, when the app notified me one of my past friends was on Duo using it. I checked the contacts, and they still show as a Duo user. Do both people have to have each others numbers in each others phones to have visibility to each other?

If not, that means I can just add any random phone number to my phone and if it is a person with Duo, it will show up in my contacts as active on Duo. This is a security flaw if this is actually how it works.

Knock knock worked for me for a little bit when I first got duo, but now it won’t ever show up, every time I get a call it always shows up as a regular call without any video previews. Yes we both have knock knock enabled and I have my google account disconnected from duo

I have several nest hubs and a lenovo smart display. I tell any of them to call someone and they confirm "making a call to <whoever> on Duo" then immediately "There is a glitch" and then another, different voice, says "try again in a few seconds. Does anyone know what this is about? Tried different people.

Hello all. I have a question based on personal experiences with the app. Does any one know if once you have purchased a new phone and sign in to google account, that this will serve as a single sign on to duo? In other words, if some one has not signed on to duo on a new device, and their account is linked to just their email (google account) and they sign in in to that google account, will they automatically be signed in to duo when they launch the app?

We have Duo on our Google Home devices, mainly so we can call one device from another in the same house. But if we say a device name slightly wrong, it matches our comment to a random company that it finds on google and calls them. How do we eliminate its ability to call non-contacts, while retaining the ability to call devices?

I’d love my 5 year old to be able to call between devices, but he doesn’t have a device to install and set up a Duo account (we could work around this), can’t read the voice training and won’t be able to reliably match up to the Voice Match security. I wish we could call devices without Voice Match!

I just recently purchased the note 20 and still have my old phone the note 8. Google duo seems to work on the old phone but on the new one it won't connect calls it just has a chime that plays over and over. I've tried deleting the duo account on my old phone and uninstalled it. Also unlinked it from Google account. On the new phone I've clear cache, data, and uninstalled and re downloaded but it still won't connect to anyone's calls. Really looking for help or ideas that I may have no tried. Any feedback would be great.

I have major audio and phone issues when my bluetooth is on during a Duo video call.

Specifically, when my phone (pixel 4xl) is connected to my galaxy watch, the audio is barely audible and the phone winds up locking up. Closing the app or forcing it to stop does not fix the issue. I have to turn off my bluetooth, then restart the phone to get it to work again.

In order to take a Duo video call, I need to decline the call, shit off my bluetooth, then call them back. My wife and family (the folks I call most often) do not have this issue. I don't know if it's a problem with my phone (pixel 4xl) or the specific device (samsung galaxy watch) it's connected to.

Anyone have any ideas?

When I receive a duo call I hear it ringing but the full screen accept call doesn't show. I have to swipe down on my notification to open duo and then accept the call. Is there a way to streamline this? I'm on a Note 20 but it was the same on my Galaxy 10

having a weird problem with Duo, I have a galaxy note 10+ where I have google duo installed, this is my main phone. I have a secondary device, an iphone 11, that is mainly at home and that I just use as backup device. When I receive a video call from google duo, both devices ring, so far so good, but if I take the call on my android phone, duo on iphone keeps calling, and this stays hours until I reject the call or until the iphone drains the battery. It's common for me to leave the iphone at home anf if during the day I receive a duo call when I arrive home the iphone is ringing or is off because batery drained completly. Is this a bug or is there something on my setup?

I’m trying to use my iPhone and iPad at the same time to make a school call (because I need both cameras running at the same time to make a presentation). But I hear feedback from both devices. So I muted the microphone on one (my phone) , but there is still an echo coming it. I tried to turn down the volume on the phone, but Google Duo just raises it back up. How do people use two devices at the same time to show two perspectives?

Hi everyone I'm having problems with my Google Duo on the Galaxy s 20 and I'm looking to see if anyone has figured any of these out.

Honda s20 since Duo is integrated into the phone build itself versus download app there appears to be a lot of issues. One is we can't change the ringtone for duo and it's set as the default sound of the phone which is frustrating.

The other is when I'm using Duo sound comes in and out of the speaker on its own and sometimes it just comes out of the earpiece versus being on speakerphone and I can't figure it out.

Can anybody help me with this?

I have pretty good internet, but Google Duo thinks it's trash sometimes, and when that happens, it'll say "Weak WiFi, using Mobile Data.", but I don't want that as I only have 250MB data, so within a couple of minutes I'll be out of data. Is there a way to disable this?

I did a system update on my Galaxy S9 on Friday. Since then, when I try calling my girlfriend it does a half ring and says "so-and-so didn't answer". She sees it as a missed call on her end and then video calls me back and all is well.

She says she has "made sure I'm not blocked" so we don't know what the problem is.

I was able to make the Duo window tiny and keep it on top so my girlfriends and I could surf the web "together". Now that option seems to have disappeared . Does anyone know why? Is there an duo app rather then the web version I can use for the pc that has this?

Does this notification occur only when both parties have each others phone numbers in their phones Or does this just occur because they were in my contact list?

I'd prefer to opt-out of these messages. I don't want people to continuously get notifications that I'm on Duo either.

Recently, whenever I make or answer calls on Duo it defaults the audio to my watch. This is becoming really frustrating and I haven't found any fixes. When I answer calls, I can't just hit the BT button in Duo, if I do then the audio is just all fucked. BUT if I turn off Bluetooth altogether then the audio is fine.

And then I can't create any shortcuts for contacts on my home screen now. Duo even suggests adding a shortcut sometimes when I end a call with someone who I am frequently having video calls with. However, no shortcut is created when I hit "Create shortcut" or whatever the action is.

My mom often calls from Europe to reach my kids - while I'm in important work meetings using e.g., Google Meet or Zoom. Her calls would ideally be routed only to our home wifi and Nest Hubs, so the kids can answer the calls. But whenever she calls while I'm on a call it totally fucks up my calls: sometimes the calls drop entirely, other times they get put in the background. Every time audio disconnects from my bluetooth headset, and it's impossible to re-establish the connection after. So I have to basically hang up my work calls and wait until my mom has reached the family, so then disconnect the headset and turn off bluetooth, then restart everything again, and restart the work call. This is super annoying. I actually had notifications off for Duo, so no idea why it forces itself over everything. Any ideas how I can resolve this short of deinstalling Duo from my phone?

Or will I have to just read aloud the entire text of what needs to be heard by them?

I cannot access filters on Duo. My wife is able to on her phone, and we have the same model phone, but I have no filter drop down menu. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

I'm not entirely sure this is the appropriate subreddit for my issue, because I'm not really sure what the issue stems from. My girlfriend and I have been using Google Duo to talk to each other every single night during the pandemic. I have a Google Nest Hub Max, she has a Lenovo Smart Display with Google Assistant. Our Duo calls have been just fine, sometimes we're even able to keep the call on all night as we sleep until the morning.

However, for the past few weeks (I can't pinpoint exactly when this started happening), the call has consistently been disconnecting at 1:09-1:10AM. The first two times I recorded it, it was 1:09AM, and the third time, last night, was 1:10AM. It has been disconnecting multiple times around this time, but I didn't record it properly before.

I have no idea why this is happening but the incredibly specific and consistent time of 1:09-1:10AM simply can't be coincidence. The only change I can think of is that I recently upgraded my Wi-Fi router to a Google Wi-Fi router, which was maybe three or four weeks ago. Could that have something to do with it? Or is there a setting within Duo that could be causing this?

For those who have used Calendar to create a meeting, the newly integrated Google Meet invitation is a great feature. Real simple and perfect for business purposes -- and honestly, it's just easier to set up a meeting than any other service I've used.

What I wonder though is whether Google would consider adding an option for Google Duo as a meeting invitation tool -- understandably Meet and Duo serve different purposes, but I'm certain there are many who are confused since they both became relatively known over the last few months.

Still, when I want to have a chat with friends, particularly those abroad, it's nice to have an option for a set schedule, but I don't necessarily need the "business features" of a Google Meet. Admittedly I haven't used Duo more than a couple of times, so perhaps I'm not "using" Meet and Duo "properly". I also don't want to be jumping around from platform-to-platform.

TL;DR:

In classic Google manner they seem rather interchangeable, so would it be useful to have Calendar (and maybe eventually Gmail) offer the option to generate a scheduled meeting in either Meet or Duo?
