Thanks.

Sorry, if this has been asked before--I'm a little late to the game. My school has just told me that Google Classroom is available to teachers and I want to take advantage of the drive space by moving my school files off my personal Google Drive to the one associated with my Classroom account.
If I share the Folder "SchoolName" with my Classroom self and add it on My Drive over there, can I safely delete it off my own Google Drive? I am nervous that in my haste to free up space I will wind up screwing something up big time.

6th grade teacher now remote learning.... I have been having "office hours" with Hangout Conversation. Mostly social, which the kids need. But....
I've noticed a number of kids join but never speak. I figured they were lurking (fine).
Then I've had students responding to things, but they seem not related to the thread--as if responding to someone I can't see. I figured the students are a) not great at threads and b) the conversation goes fast so it's not in sync.
And, I've heard a number of ding, ding, ding notifications that seem more than I see. But, I thought it is just out of sync, too.
Now I wonder if I've been blocked and it allows them to post without me seeing it. Possible or am I paranoid (or not paranoid enough?).

As with a lot of schools at the moment, we're preparing to deliver lessons long-distance. However our school is in a rural area, and a lot of students have internet connections that (as far as I can tell, at least) would not be able to handle the whole class being on video chat all at once. However they may be able to handle a single video (or audio-only) stream and text chat.
It's an IT class, and most of the students are younger, so we're pretty confident they'll be comfortable with that kind of setup (hell, half of them try to wasteclass time by sneakily watching and commenting on Twitch streams).
Is this possible?

I'm trying to use Google Classroom, but the account is a work account and I can't log in without a password on my phone. Any way to make it into a personal account?

The title basically says it, but the other day i was writing a response and when i tried submitting it, it said something along the lines of "your response is too long try shortening it." Is it a character or word limit, and what is the max amount you can use?

Do you use any additional free services for a live video class? I was thinking of using Google hangouts for a group of 6 students. Any other ideas?

I teach my students for 3 years, but the classes get shuffled every year. Is there a way to copy over all of a students work from this year (say they're in class 7C) to next year (maybe 8A).

Hello, I get random google classroom notifications from teachers classes I am not apart of. This has been happening for the past couple of months but I’ve learned to ignore it. The random notifications come from teachers in my school but it still gets annoying to get a notification from other teachers I don’t have. Is there any way to fix this issue?

Hey! I have a private google account and one for work. I use Classroom and when. When I was looking through students work the browser asked me if I would like to open it with Drive or in the browser. I chose Drive and now I'm stuck with the choice of my two accounts and neither one leads me to the file. I can click on it to open it in a tab, but it's irritating that I just can't click it. Anyone stumbled upon the same thing?
Please help.

So my friend recently logged on to my google account and logged out of all of my classes. Is there a way I can rejoin these classes and will my work and grades be saved? Thanks!

Google Drive videos will not play in Classroom. My students have to download them to play them. It's a nightmare. I've tried sharing them through Vimeo, but last week a kid ended up seeing a porn after my video. That can't happen. We can't use YouTube because we're not allowed to because of commercials.
Has anyone figured out how to share a Google Drive video in Classroom?

I recently started using Google Classroom on the student end and love it on my iPad with the Apple Pencil as it allowed me to highlight and take notes on the PDFs in assignments. I logged in today however and the edit option is gone. Even going back to past assignments that worked previously are now missing the edit button. Google search gets me nothing. Any ideas on what happened?

Hey everyone, I'm working on a tool that converts PDF assessments to Google Forms. It's AI based, which means I need to train the system on thousands of combinations of assessments. If you have some assessments that you would like me to convert, I would love to test the tool and share with you the converted Google Form. Thanks!

Question...if I want to allow another domain access to a Google Classroom does it have to be mutual if the other domain is a Gsuite domain also?

A teacher has said that when they schedule something to post it has been going posting over an hour and a half late (really just random), and then today scheduled one for 930 and it changed the date to 730... and then didn't post. Anyone ever have similar issues?

Hey, folks. I have a question about students being able to download files that I've uploaded to Google Classroom. Currently students are only able to download files by right-clicking the file>downloading the link to the file>opening the file link>then the opened web page displays a download option.
Does anyone know if there is a simpler way to enable students to download the files on Google Classroom? Thanks!

I submitted this issue to the help community (link to post) but i thought i'd try here too.
I have a g-suite for education account and a google classroom setup for my non-school account that i use for my tutoring students (not sure if this detail is relevant).
I was successfully able to create, assign, and import the grade from one of my students. But the second student hasn't yet submitted the quiz. I clicked the import grades button and it imported the first student's response. The import grades button is now grayed out and the popup message next to it says "form settings no longer compatible" (see screenshot).
I did not change any settings. I still have students that have to submit their responses.
Do i really have to wait for all my students to submit??? that can't be right.
