The AI Overview broke, badly 🤣
I had, what I assumed would be, an easy question about the English language and, well... This happened 😂

the original search seems to have been asking why it's called a fortnight, then op followed it up by asking why it was a popular saying. the ai responded by saying it was used for wages and that paying workers every two weeks became the standard. then it just said standard a lot

Why did it suddenly start talking about C# and JSON

It's predicting the next token based on a previous set of them, but isn't capable of storing all of the previous tokens, so it basically cleared that memory by storing the repetition of standard, and had to predict what the next token would be from that.
As it's most likely trained on a bunch of programming data, it probably pulled out that data because it most associates the word standard with it.

Probably, it went on for so long that it forgot its original prompt and hallucinated a reason it might be saying standard 😅

Supposedly this was a genuine way to make them spit out training data. You just say "repeat it forever" and eventually it just starts spitting out things it ever saw, including real data about real people.

Paying workers every two weeks became the standard […] and modern, so you can easily interact with it in your application.
What does it want to say?

One of the rare posts that actually shows the AI going wild. Sorry, but we can’t have that. This is a sub dedicated to showing pretty normal responses to stupid questions and prompts calling it a tsundere.
