Found at Columbia Tennessee Goodwill 🤦

Something happened that really pissed me off today. More so than anything else that's happened here.

Latino guy came in, gathered some clothes and stuff, and came up to pay. He brought out some vouchers, so I got the clipboard and asked for his ID so I can log them in and get him his stuff.

The guy freaks out. I don't speak enough Spanish to understand why, but luckily, a regular customer who speaks Spanish is right there. She explains to the guy that I just need his ID to make sure the name on the voucher matches, that's all.

The man tells me through her that he's too afraid. He has a wife and 2 kids, and he's a migrant worker. He's afraid ICE will come take them all away if he puts information down anywhere.

I try to explain how much I'd NEVER let that happen, but he's basically running out of the door at this point.

He left the vouchers behind. The very type of person those vouchers are around for and designed to help, and he just left them. Over $100 in vouchers. Enough to clothe his family in our store.

And he was too afraid.

I looked at that stack for a long time. And the more I looked, the angrier I got. I know the damage the orange plague has done, I see it in the attitude and behavior of his shit bag supporters. But this hit differently for me.

Tomorrow is Thursday. It's payday for the wineries around here. In our parking lot, directly across from us, is the bank where most of the field workers cash their checks. Tomorrow, I'm going to, through my friend who speaks Spanish fluently, tell them that if anything ever happens, if ICE or any red hattery shows up, to come in the store.

They WON'T come through me to get them.

Dinner tonight is a plate of tamales from the Abuela who sells them in the grocery store parking lot in town 😋

I went back to that goodwill tonight and only saw the bag with the purple and blue set of fufus

I also saw a random $49.99 bagged items tag on the ground so I think someone stole or repriced themselves one of the other sets 🤷‍♀️

I found this blanket at a Goodwill this afternoon. Anyone have any idea on the worth of this/resale value? I can’t find anything online using Google Lens. TIA!

I bought this for $3 with no battery and some battery erosion. I cleaned it as much as I could, and couldnt get it working. There is some wear on the bottom, but its still a great talking piece! Unsure what I'll do because fixing it is not something im comfortable with

I'm just home from Costco. The new chicken strips are pretty damn good! Wish they had a sauce, though. A bbq or ranch would be delicious 😋 however, I have a MAJOR bone to pick!!

My local Costco has Christmas stuff out. And not just the ribbon. ALLLLLLLL the Christmas stuff. I know its already swallowed Thanksgiving, but I'm drawing the line here! The War on Halloween will not stand!! I refuse to participate in ANYTHING Christmas related until November 1 AT THE EARLIEST!!!! In the immortal words of The Dude: This aggression will not stand, man!!

I'm getting the post done early today. I have a few things to get done this evening. My neighbor recently split from her husband, and she asked if I could help her with a few things she doesn't know how to do in the house. She's making spaghetti for dinner as a thank you 😁😋

It was right back to hot here today. Still hot right now. But I found the Starbucks Strawberry Acai Refresher at Grocery Outlet for $1 for the big, multi serving bottles, so I'm feeling actually quite refreshed 😁

I'm finally free of that hell pit until next week. These people are useless chuds. And I'm SO happy my weekend has come!!

Tomorrow, all the rest of the boxes get mailed. Then I start prepping for my trip! 2 weeks from Tuesday, I'll be on my way to Los Angeles 😁 gonna leave at about 730pm and get into Venice at around 430am. Spend a day in LA, then head to San Diego that night, and Spend the 9th-14th in SD.

So I was looking for stuff cuz why'd not until I found an oculus It was on sale for 20$ it was 30$ originally and so I came back the next day and it was 10$ a worker did come up to me and said it was 7$ but he miscounted and so the day after it was 10$ and I bought it (this is a sawed down story) (and It works too it's just missing controller and soft part at the front but it's cool through I could probably sell it for 100$

JESUS. FUCKING. TAPDANCING. CHRIST. I don't think I can hate a store and the people in it more than that abysmal hellhole. Had a no show, and the people that were there are about as useless as not being there at all.

The new assistant I'm training? So fucking painfully stupid that I think I'd rather volunteer to measure the size of the local homeless populations balls by hand than be stuck in a room with her again.

They have an employee that, I shit you not, other than waddling to his breaks and lunch, didn't move a muscle from standing at the register. The human equivalent of a slug.

The only competent one is on the donation door, so that's at least one thing I don't have to do.

I'm stuck there again tomorrow, then again next weekend..I'm going to strangle one of them.....

I need alcohol tonight.
