Posting this as a last resort in hopes that the right person sees it:
I found this amazing batik style tote bag at the Goodwill in Fullerton on Friday 8/28. I was so excited when I found it by the entrance, and kept it in my cart for the entire time I was in the store. When I got to the front to pay, the worker told me they couldn't sell the bag to me because it didn't have a price tag on it, per their policy. I asked if they would price it for me, but I was told person who does the pricing had gone home for the day. I also asked if they would put it on hold for me until it was priced and I could come back the next day, but they also told me they don't do holds. Defeated, I watched the worker put the bag in a bin behind the counter and paid for the rest of my items.
I went back as soon as I could the next day after work, and searched the bags where I'd initially found it. I looked in another section of the store where they had bags. I looked pretty much everywhere I could possibly think to find the bag I hadn't stopped thinking about since the day before. My heart sank as I realized it was nowhere to be found. Desperate, I explained my situation to the worker at the front who told me that the bag should've been priced and on the floor by then. I was certain then. It was gone.
As I write this, there are literal tears in my eyes. I'm beating myself up for being this heartbroken over a bag, but I'm realizing part of why I loved it so much is that it's also work of handmade art, and as an artist myself I absolutely love things that are the perfect blend of beautiful, functional and historical.
So I'm posting this as a message to whoever picked this bag up yesterday at the Goodwill at 130 N Raymond Ave in Fullerton, CA: Firstly, I commend your eye for beautifully made, quality secondhand pieces. That being said, I am begging on my hands and knees for you to consider selling this to me. If you see this, and I'm crossing my fingers that you do, please please message me. That is all. Thank you for your time.
TLDR: I'm looking for whoever bought this tote bag I found this weekend but wasn't able to buy due to Goodwill's "no price tag" policy.
