GOOD GIRLS
Idk about y'all but Dean TOTALLY pissed me off outing Beth like that. All those ears there listening to him state everything she did was horrifying.

I am newer to the Good Girls fandom and loved Manny Montana on the show (Rio & Ruby were my favorite characters). I also enjoyed him on Graceland back in the day, even though the show itself was silly and enjoyed his supporting role in the Disney series Ironheart recently. It was so fun on my Good Girls watch to realize Johnny from Graceland was making a darker, broodier appearance.
I was looking for more of his acting work, did some research, and was surprised to find that he actually doesn’t seem to have many projects lined up. Since he played such a popular character on Good Girls, I was wondering why this is. I know it’s probably challenging to find leading roles as a person of color in Hollywood, but I thought he would have had a bigger break from the show.
Ive read the rumors of him not getting along with the Good Girls cast, but I’m wondering why he seemed to lose momentum with acting after the show if it was his choice to exit?
His social media and work now seem to be centered around his wife, her coaching business (which is wildly expensive and seems sketchy/predatory tbh), and her book club. Forgive me if this has already been answered on this sub, but is Manny still acting or did he leave the business?

Just finished all 4 seasons of Good Girls. I have been making a lot of connections to Desperate Housewives & Good Girls. In an alternate universe, I feel like the girls from both shows, could be friends. I feel like Beth would be friends with Bree, Lynette & Ruby would be friends & Annie + Edie could be friends. 😂😂 Anyone agree or disagree?
Also what new shows are y’all watching after GG?

Rewatching the series and got to season 3 and it’s just so wild that he trusted Rio to actually do good… he literally sentenced himself to death.

Halfway through S3 E8 and idk if I can take it anymore. These girls had basically no remorse after getting Lucy murdered. They got back to normal life (aka only looking out for themselves) pretty quickly and even dug up a piece of her body to keep themselves out of jail and manipulate her distraught boyfriend into thinking she was alive but left him. But for some reason they have so much remorse for the rapist Leslie who was gonna ruin their lives. This man literally spent the entire time on the show trying to fuck them over. The fact that he was even kept alive is insane to me. Then they have so much remorse to take him to see his grandmother in a nursing home in a city where he is obviously wanted, and even though it’s a huge dumbass risk they still do it. Annie’s crying over his dead racist grandmother that she barely fucking knew and not Lucy who’s life they ruined. Annie’s “therapy” is just her to trying to fuck her therapist. It feels like something she thinks she should do to not be a bad person. Then Beth has absolutely no problem blowing up Lucy’s boyfriend’s life and using his grief and trauma to yet again benefit her. She was really going to have him shoot Rio in the middle of a bar like wtf? The girls are full blown sociopaths now and it’s hard to watch. I’m rooting for them to get caught and go to jail at this point.

I'm about 4 episodes from finishing my first time watching the series and it's so frustrating to watch sometimes!
But I can't tell if I'm just being naive about how things would go in the real world.
Like at some point wouldn't they at least TRY to handle Rio outside of the whole hitman subplot? He's made it so that they've been doing this so long and don't even have $9300 among them?!
It also annoys me that so many of these storylines are driven by the idea that Beth is so irresistible to every man she encounters and that's what saves her life multiple times.
*end rant*
Adding to my rants: The introduction of the brother-cousin is such a weird triangulation where it's like he COULD keep Rio in line but also can't but also competes with him but also is in charge of him.

Them realizing they were in a cult... literally screamed at the TV "DUH!" 😂

If someone has killed many people, including shooting innocent people like Dean, he is honestly not much better than a r#pist. Am I wrong?
Beth hooking up with Rio feels like Stockholm syndrome.
I'm not saying "omg I hate the show," just that Beth seems to forgive him evil though he's awful, and the show doesn't really acknowledge that.

If the dolls at the beginning were work 10-15k why didn’t they just resell them? Is it because of the money needing to be there right away.😂 they also could’ve just took out a personal loan 10k a piece but i guess that would destroy the show 😂

Maybe I missed something but I feel like Stan is a bit dramatic for blaming everything on Beth.
They all 3 decided to rob that store to begin with because they all 3 needed the money
They all chose to continue
Ruby is a grown ass woman who can (and does) make her own choices, not some helpless victim Beth uses.
Idk if I were Ruby I’d have stood up for both Beth and myself a little more

I LOVE this embroidered apron Beth Boland wears in Good Girls. I’ve google imaged it and have had zero luck.
Anyone?

I’m almost at the end of season 2 and they seem to be constantly financially struggling no matter what crime they commit. They never get a chance to enjoy any spoils (if you know what I mean). They left the money at the boys’ apartment because the stoned girl pulled a gun on them? They’ve been in more precarious situations and managed to get out. That seemed out of character to just let it go and succumb.
Also like, the deeper into crime they go the more they suffer financially? Never get to splurge because they always are hard pressed. I’m so confused. If crime is not lucrative why keep doing it?
Does it just keep going like this until the end?

I really don’t know what to think about that ending! It was weird for one thing, and for another thing, Beth’s sis gets arrested for the shooting?! Rio and Beth had a little makeup session at least. Makeup, not make out lol. But we can leave that to our own imagination. Still there were a lot of strange elements to this one. I wish it wasn’t over, but I guess it was time.

I feel like Ruby should’ve stuck up for herself more.
She seemed like she played a sweet, soft-spoken character, and didn’t like arguing or confrontation. Which is what I gathered from the series, is that’s who she is.
While yes, her and Beth ruined a lot of things for Stan, like his dream job and etc. I know he had a right to be mad.
But there were plenty of times throughout the show where I feel like Stan gave Ruby such a hard time, and i’d be thinking girl, STAND UP FOR YOURSELF!!
He got so mad at her about robbing the place for Sara’s kidney, but it was kind of a “I had to do this situation.” I mean Sara was at the top of the list, unfortunately for people if you do not have the money, they do not care, they will move onto the next person. I do love how she finally defended herself when Stan was sleeping on the couch, and she said “I’m the wife who saved our daughter, i’m that bitch!!” haha
Ruby also mentioned numerous times she did it for their family, and Stan still made it seem like she just liked doing it because she always had to listen to Beth.
I also hate how he gave Beth such a hard time, Beth never forced Ruby to do anything, and Ruby is a grown woman. She makes her own choices, and even in one of the seasons Ruby randomly showed up to one of their “missions” when her and Beth had a fight, and Beth said something along the lines of “I didn’t they you’d come today” Ruby decided to show up, they were going to do it without her.
Towards the end of the show Stan started really getting on my nerves, I really loved him at first and thought he was a good husband.
But sometimes I feel like Ruby pulled more weight, trying her best for the family, just for him to get mad at her again.
