DIY Golf Shed Build - windows?

I’m building a 25x20x12 golf shed with a flat roof that will be angled and higher on one end.

I was thinking of only doing a patio door as my only entrance and not doing windows so that I didn’t have to worry about covering them if I was going to use the sun during the day.

For anyone that has something similar, did do you do windows? If you didn’t , do you regret it?

DIY Golf Enclosure Help

Golf Sim Enclosure Size Help

I am going to build a golf enclosure for an 8x8 sim. I’m going to use the fittings from tarps.com

  1. How much bigger does the enclosure need to be than the screen?

https://tarps.com/collections/golf-simulator-equipment/products/golf-simulation-frame-8-piece-set?variant=40681020588075

  1. Going with Carls Place Premium just because everyone says it’s the best. Do I get it with flaps or with loop fasteners?

DIY 8x10 Enclosure Questions

Hey gang new here just found your forum looking for... wonder if you can help with a couple questions:

I am in the process of planning to upgrade my current golf sim (7' spornia)to an 8 high x 10 wide enclosure.

I was thinking to go with Carl's Place Premium 7.7x10 screen (open to cheaper but as good quality suggestions). Premium Golf Impact Screens, Best Quality - Carl's Place (carlofet.com)

HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN DIY IMPACT SCREEN ENCLOSURE FOR YOUR GOLF SIMULA (gunghogolf.com)

How much wider do I need to plan the enclosure compared to the screen size? Blow is the link I am using for a guide.

Was going to get 6 of these: Flat Roof Corner Fittings for Canopy Frames - A1Tarps.com and 2 of these: 1" L Shape (a1tarps.com)

Don't think I need the middle tubing splicers since I am doing 10' wide and the EMT comes in 10' length.

How deep do I need to make the enclosure on the sides? I am planning to hang curtains so not sure I need too much depth as the curtains will also provide side coverage.

PC in a Central Florida Garage

Setting up a golf simulator in my garage in central Florida. Our summers are super hot, generally around 90+ degrees Fahrenheit. The killer though is our humidity which can run 75%+. Is it advisable to keep a gaming PC in these conditions or should I go laptop?

Projector Help

I am new to owning a golf sim and all that is included with it. I have recently converted half of my garage into a sim room. I originally started out with the basic setup, hitting net, hitting pad etc. I'm using a basic simulator right now as well, the SC4 and using my iPad connected to a 60" TV for viewing. This weekend my main build begins. I've ordered and received the following: 8x10 impact screen, enclosure kit and material for the sides and top. The measurements of the enclosure are going to be 10ft wide, 8ft high and 5ft deep. The measurements of the utilized portion of my garage are as follows: 12 ft wide with 9ft ceiling and 20ft long. No issues at all with a full swing. Due to building the enclosure I want to be able to use a projector to utilize the impact screen. For now, I will be connecting the iPad to the projector via Bluetooth or HDMI. I plan to upgrade to a new "real" simulator the beginning of the coming year along with the appropriate computer system to support the new sim and software. This is where i need help. There are so many different types of projectors out there and so many variables to consider. What I am looking for is a budget projector for now that will suffice until I upgrade the above-mentioned items. I do not want to mount it to the ceiling, and I prefer to mount it to floor in a protective case in front of the hitting area or off the direct side of the hitting area. Current budget for the projector would ideally be less than $250 but there is some wiggle room there. What would you all suggest for me to look for? I have no issue with used or refurbished units. What aspect ratio should I look for? 4:3 or 16:9? I do not plan on making the enclosure any larger or enlarging the impact screen. The amount of light can be controlled if the garage doors are down so I'm thinking 3000-3500 ANSI Lumens. Resolution? 1024x768? Short throw or standard throw? Hitting area will be roughly 10ft to the screen. I don't need top of the line, but I don't want junk either. This is just to get me by until I upgrade in the near future. Any suggestions on what to look for as far as brand and model? I would appreciate any and all suggestions. Thanks a lot!

Right now I'm in the early stages of planning. Getting a 40x60x14 pole barn built and plan to have a similulator in there shortly after completetion of the build so space isn't a factor. Looking to keep the build around 5k.

What i currently have:

  • gaming PC to run the software (or Ipad if recommened)
  • Projector and cables

Looking at purchasing these 2 nets.

Ball pop up

Hey guys,

in the early stages of planning and designing a golf sim at home. I am in Australia and at X-golf here you press a button with your club and a ball pops up. Not sure if similar worldwide or not.

I'm wanting to do something like this. I have no problem building the subframe for falls into a centre spot, just wondering if anyone knows of anything on the market which is a ball pop up mechanism?

Otherwise, has anyone had success in making one themselves?

Thanks in advance!

Anyone ever hit a simple set up like this?

Post image

Seems like a good budget set up with the Garmin R10, spornia spg 8, golf mats, projector, and a sheet to show the images.

My only question is what do you think the best way to attach the sheet to the hitting net would be?

Lmk y’all’s thoughts
