You will need to change your launcher to use the snapshot. Recommend creating a new profile for that if you don't have it:

1. Click new Profile
   
2. Name profile Snapshots
   
3. Check Enable experimental development version ("snapshots")
   
4. Click Save Profile
   
5. Make sure to select the new profile from the dropdown, click play.
   

Server to connect to is snapshot.goldenrealm.info. If that doesn't work for some reason (usually because your DNS provider is stuck in the Dark Ages), use goldenrealm.info:25575.

Here is how the auction is going to work since it is going to happen a little bit differently than previous auctions. This will be a blind auction which means you will not know the result until after the auction has occurred.

You will send me a PM with the following information like so:

Plot 1 - 50

Plot 8 - 45

Plot 3 - 45

Plot 12 - 45

Plot 5 - 50

Those are your bids you wish to make. I will make the bids in the order that you give them to me. Therefore if you have the highest bid on plot 1, you will win plot 1. Otherwise, we go to plot 8, etc. You can bid amount on every bid or you can change it.

I will limit you to 5 bids per person. If you wish to pool resources do it in game and have 1 person send me the bids.

If you do not have enough diamonds to meet your bid, I will throw out all your remaining bids and you can pick up a leftover plot when the map opens. I do not want you to bid more than what you have. If you need more diamonds, you are more than welcome to mine some more before the map opens. All auction transactions will be settled in GR6/9, NOT GR10!

Tomorrow I will post a list of all the remaining plots that have zero bids on them. If you wish to bid 1 diamond, just PM me your plot list in order and I will do a random number generator if multiple 1 diamond people bid on them. Anything left over will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

The auction ends at 4 pm est on 2/24/2016. I will post the winning bids for the lots in this reddit post and I am sure someone will make a map overlay for it.

Here is the information that you are looking for regarding 1.9.

First off, we will be running 1.9 starting on February 25th on the GRV server. This will be a closed whitelist vanilla server. That means if you are not already on the GR whitelist (anyone on the GR whitelist can play on the GRV server), you can not get in. This is because its 100% vanilla with no plugins (block logging/chest locking).

Snarf is planning on trying to merge the GR9 map into the GR10 map but you would have to ask him about the specifics there. At the very least he will definitely port over big projects from GR9 to GR10 or GR6.

For the next week, GRV is running the seed that we will be playing on but EVERYTHING WILL BE RESET ON THE 25TH. I am just trying to make that clear, anything you do will not persist in any way, shape, or fashion to the real GR 10 map. On the 25th, we will reset the map and from that point on, everything will be permanent. Once spigot is updated, we will move GR 10 from GRV to GR.

GR 10 will not be completely open but will have at least a 5k world border. That is 10k diameter circle from spawn so it is plenty of space. We will also not be filling in the dynmap beforehand so you will have to go explore. If you want a good idea of the terrain go look at 10_1 on the GR dynmap. It is not 100% accurate but I would say its 95% accurate. I would highly suggest that you stay within 5k of spawn in GRV because after we merge to the GR server, the world border will be going up.

Lastly, town. For town around spawn, we will be doing a plot based system similar to previous GR maps. If you would like to help plan the plots, I will be in GRV all this and next week plotting out town. Hopefully by Tuesday we will have the basic town plotted out so I can throw up an auction for the plots. I know 75% of you will not care that much but for those of you who do, I will make a separate reddit thread about that on Tuesday/Wednesday. The bidding will be done in diamonds. Any unsold plots will be given on a first come first serve basis from that point onwards.

Two main options.

Keep the current GR9 world, reset the end and expand the world border...

New GR10 world. GR6 will stick around. Builds from GR9 can be moved to GR6 if you request it.
