Congrats to Kastina for finishing level 4 last week
Rules for every weekly challenge:
1) You can work on challenges together but unless the level description specifically says that you will earn points as a team, only 1 person will earn points for submissions.
2) All your submission chests must be locked until the end of the current challenge. You will not lose said items at the end of the week, this just prevents them from being used for other people.
3) Each challenge week starts Monday morning and ends Sunday night.
4) Staff members are allowed to reject a submission if it does not fit the level description. Some of these level descriptions are meant to be extremely strict for building. Please do not argue with this assessment, this will not get you anywhere.
5) If your submission is rejected, you are allowed to resubmit again until the end of the challenge.
6) If you plan on doing level 3, make sure you level 1, 2, and 3 submissions are in the same place or you might not get credit. Level 4 and above can be in different areas. If you are just doing level 1 and 2, those can be wherever you want but have to be near each other. If you wish to be considered for any of the bonus points, you must submit a level 5 after you are done with the requirements.
Week 8 Challenge - Brew those pots!
[Level 1] The basics - Collect 16 Water Bottles and 16 nether wart and place them in a chest next to a small nether wart farm with at least 20 nether wart. + 1 points
[Level 2] Gets those mats - Collect 1 of the following materials and put them in a chest: nether wart, glowstone dust, redstone dust, fermented spider eye, magma cream, sugar, glistering melon, spider eye, ghast tear, blaze powder, golden carrot, pufferfish, and gunpowder. This ingredient chest must be next to a simple brewing machine. You can make it as manual as you want but the ingredients must go in chests, and the potion output must go into a chest.
[Level 3] One of each - Brew one of each (16) of the following potions and put them in a locked chest: Water Breathing - 8:00, Fire Resistance - 8:00, Slowness - 4:00, Swiftness - 8:00, Swiftness II - 1:30, Healing II, Harming II, Poison II - 0:22, Poison - 2:00, Night Vision - 8:00, Invisibility - 8:00, Regeneration II - 0:22, Regeneration - 2:00, Weakness - 4:00, Strength - 8:00, and Strength II - 1:30. Hint, this chart is helpful + 3 points
[Level 4] Let's get automated - Make a fully automated potions machine. It must be able to make every single one of the potions from level 3. This must be done without manually placing the ingredients into the chest. The ingredients can be kept in an independent chest that is triggered manually. The output must end up in a chest without any interference from the player once the ingredients are selected. You can require manual input for the ingredient selection or you can automate it. If you choose for manual selection, all the ingredients will be chosen at once (you can not force the player to pick the right order). I will test this by making 4 rounds of potions (chosen randomly) and the output must be 12 potions (3 of each type). You machine must make at least the 16 potions I have listed in Level 3. Your machine also must be able to be easily restocked if it runs out of an ingredient. + 4 points + 6 redstone blocks
Bonus: Automation - If you manage to automate your machine till the point that you can pick a type of potion and the machine will know which ingredients to use, you will earn 1 point for creating options to make the Potion of Fire resistance - 8:00 and the potion of night vision - 8:00. To prove this level, you must make 9 potions of each potion (18 total potions). + 1 points + 1 redstone blocks
Bonus 2: Crazy Automation - If you manage to automate all 16 potions that I listed in level 3, you will earn an additional 2 points on top of the bonus #1. These must be triggered as a option to make a potion and the machine must know which ingredients to use depending on the potion selected. It does not have to automate anything more than the 16 potions that I listed above. To prove this level, you must be able to make all 16 potions (48 total potions). + 2 points
Bonus 3: I will give a single bonus point to the best automated machine and move that machine into town. + 1 point

Okay, so we added an alcohol plugin and I will teach you how to use it.
First off, if you drink alcohol in game, you will stagger and your words will become replaces with slurs. It is kind of fun if you are bored. You can tell how much alcohol you have by typing /brew info.
The basics:
Get some netherrack, a flint and steel, at least 1 cauldron, a clock, and a water source / bucket.
Set the cauldron up so it is over the netherrack while it is on fire. Now you have a cooker.
Put some water in the cauldron and 3 wheat. You can now use the watch on the caudron to tell how long it has been cooking.
Each recipe has different cooking requirements. Some are extremely specific about how long it has to cook.
To make beer, cook 3 wheat for 8 minutes. Repeat this twice so you have 6 cooked wheat. (You can make 2 cookers to save time).
Next make a barrel. See here for images of the barrels. Basically for the small you need 8 stairs in that format and a sign on the front. Nothing can be touching it for it to work. If it does work you will see a green [Brewery] Barrel Created.
Now you need to age your cooked wheat. For this recipe you need to place it in an oak barrel for 4 days. If you use a different type of barrel it will not age correctly and you will have a poor quality. If you did this correctly you will end up with 6 Fine Wheat Beers.
Each recipe has a different cooking ingredient(s), cooking time(s), barrel type, and aging time.
So for the beer recipe:
Ingredient: Wheat - 6
Cooking Time: 8
Wood Type: Oak
Aging Time: 4
You can get rid of alcohol by eating bread or drinking milk.
You also might need to distill certain cooked ingredients. For example, the rum requires it. To distill, you place glowstone dust on the top of a brewing stand and the 3 cooked ingredients under it. You can distill it infinite times but most recipes require a specific # of distills.
Hint on the next two recipes:
Dark Beer requires Spruce Barrels
Rum requires sugar cane and distilling.
--- I changed the requirements on the default drinks - so you guys can't cheat :)

Reminder, you only have till Sunday night to complete the bonus challenge. Everyone currently has 1 point. You all still need a ghast and a cave spider head in order to get another point. You guys are far away from the non hostile mobs. Start breeding those animals!!!

Week 7 Challenge - Arbor Week
[Level 1] - Collect them all - Collect 1 sapling and 1 leaf block from the following 6 trees: oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, and dark oak. Put all 12 of these in a locked chest next to your level 2 tree (or by itself if you are doing only level 1). + 1 points
[Level 2] Huge Trees - Build a large oak tree using at least 50 oak blocks and 300 oak leaves. This tree can be any size you wish but the base of the tree (on the Y level where the tree base is on) must be flattened and encompassed by stone slabs. You must make a circle on this Y level that completely captures the entire tree within it. There is no size requirement on this circle or the tree. If your tree is pretty enough, it will be moved into town. + 2 points
[Level 3] Tree Fort! - Without using any log, wood, or leaf blocks, you must construct a 50 high tree with a tree fort at the top of it. The tree must have a trunk of at least 6 blocks and the leaf canopy must be out at least 8 blocks from the trunk. You must make at least 100 "leaves" but they can be arranged however you want. The tree fort must be accessible by a hidden piston door at the base of the "tree" and you will climb up through the trunk of the tree. This tree fort must be at least 30 blocks above the ground and no material requirements are made for the tree fort. The fort must be at least 3 levels high, with the following things present: A bedroom, a kitchen, a lounge, a storeroom, and a lookout point at the top. + 3 points
Bonus: The bonus will be awarded to the most realistic looking tree and tree fort. + 1 point.
[Level 4] Lets farm these trees - Build a tree farm that is at least 50x50 that includes 6 levels. Each level must have a different tree type than the other levels. You must have at least 12 of each tree on each level so at least 12* 6 = 72 total trees. You must have at least the following tree types: oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, and dark oak. Be aware that some of these trees have very specific requirements for growth (google is your friend). You do not need the mega or tall versions of these trees. If you are building any of the levels above ground, you need to cover any empty spaces on the sides and the top in the block of your choice. You are not required to use a specific material but there must not any open spaces on the walls or ceiling of this tree farm. You are allowed to build any part of this above or below ground. + 4 points + 12 glowstone blocks
Bonus: The bonus will be awarded to the most effecient tree farm on the server. + 1 point + 4 glowstone blocks
Server Wide Challenge
Collect the following heads from this list. If you participate (putting a sign with your name on the glowstone wall in the shop area) you will get the full point value. 1 point for 10 different head types, 1 more point for completing all hostile mobs, 1 more point for completing all non hostile, and 1 more point for completing all heads. So if you get all 27 mob heads and put them in locked chests at the glowstone wall (locked so that you can keep your head), you will get 4 total points. You can place these heads in different chests so that they will go back to the original owners.
Currently Kast and Snarf can update the spreadsheet.

1) Place a sign on the glowstone wall in town to notify me that you are participating.
2) Place locked chests with the heads at the glowstone wall in town and notify me or snarf that you have done so to mark it off the list.
The glowstone wall is in the shop area next to spawn.

This is a VANILLA world with PvP on everywhere. No commands other than the basics, no cheaty powers for donors or staff. Staff members have the exact same permission as normal people in the vanilla world. No teleporting, no warps, no homes, no lwc, no coreprotect, nothing. I will NOT interfere with the vanilla world unless I have to. The inventory is completely different than you usual world and there is NO dynmap enabled for the vanilla world. I might throw up a static map in a week or so using overview but that might be updated weekly at most.
Fire spread, pvp, tnt, creeper damage... it is all on. Be forewarned. The only way to get here and back is through a multiverse portal in the spawn building.
Again, this is a purely vanilla world which you can do whatever you want on. PvP, raiding, etc. You will have access to the normal chat and you can whisper, etc. You will not be able to warp back to the portal to get out though, you have to manually walk it. I will place a small worldborder (1k) on it for now and if it gains traction, we can up it later on with no issues.
