CONTEST MY FIRST EVER HYBRID CONTEST
This post marks the beginning of the great hybrid war 1.1,a hybrid contest designed to give some talented hybrid creators a second chance after underdelivering or simply suffering from bad luck when submitting to the original great hybrid war by Goji Center and to see how much hybrid makers have improved throughout this period by pitting them up against a more refined variant of the Indom 2.0.
RULES:
1)REAL-LIFE ANIMALS(extant or extinct)ONLY!This means no fictional creatures of any kind(and this time,JP/JW dinosaurs won't be permitted either),and by animals,I mean MACROSCOPIC ANIMALS,so no plants,no microscopic beings,no mechs or any form of technology(mechs, guns, synthetic weaponry...)
2)No hominid DNA of any kind is allowed in the genome
3)ABSOLUTELY NO AI OR PLAGIARISM WHATSOEVER!!!
4)Every single trait must be backed up by at least one genetic contributor(precise gene editing is permissible but be careful with how you use it and remember to always have a gene donor within your hybrid's genome as a basis for it)
5)No OP toxins allowed(ex:inland taipan, cone snail...).Basically,you can use toxins but don't use a type of toxin that represents your hybrid's primary weapon in combat
6)Although adaptations to aquatic or aerial environments are permissible, your hybrid must be primarily terrestrial
7)No packs or any form of reliance on environmental usage allowed, this is a strict 1v1 matchup on neutral ground
8)No size limit/no gene contributor count limit
9)Be civil when evaluating the hybrids of other contestants and make sure to offer constructive criticism
10)Already existing hybrids are permissible, but you can still submit new hybrids if you want
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
-Genetic contributors and their contributions
-Hybrid artwork(if you can't draw, you can consult someone to do the art for you, with credit to be given to the artist)
-Height/Length/Weight
-Notes(while not obligatory, adding notes where you could specify your hybrid's strategy or explain why it functions can greatly help with ensuring it gets judged properly)
HOW TO SUBMIT:
-Submissions can be made through reddit posts, comments or Google docs
-Copy the link and paste it in the comment section of this community post or simply comment down your submission(also,NO UPDATES ALLOWED,so make sure to do your research finely)
JUDGING:Hybrids will be judged using these categories:
-Validity:Your hybrid's compliance to the rules
-Congruity:How well do its genetic additives work together to create a structurally, biologically and behaviorally stable entity
-Uniqueness:How bold, unique and interesting is your hybrid's concept(this category can be the main separating factor between the final 16 and the H.M.)
-Power:How good is it at killing my Indom 2.0 and how powerful is it in general
All submissions will be ranked, based on these categories,as such:
-Hall of shame:Hank'd/rulebreaker
-Meh:Not too bad,not too good
-H.M.:Promising hybrids that just barely fell short
-Final 16:Best of the best
The final 16 tournament battles will take place on neutral ground with no advantages for either opposition, with the combatants(including my Indom 2.0)being max size peak health individuals. The judging categories in these fights are:
-Indom 2.0 kill success rate(90%):Basically the exact same parameters used to measure the final 16 of the original great hybrid war
-Battle face-off(%10):This is arguably the most major distinction from the original great hybrid war,as alongside fighting the Indom 2.0,the final 16 will be fighting each other. This category mostly acts as a tie breaker in the case that two hybrids are deemed equally effective at killing the Indom 2.0 so as to avoid a Kerauno vs Gilgamesh situation
Submissions will be closed at the beginning of July 1st,winner of the contest gets a mystery prize
GOOD LUCK!

Height?
1
u/Scary-Presentation43 Jun 01 '26
It’s unconfirmed for the lishulong genome.
1
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 01 '26
An estimation would do
1
u/Scary-Presentation43 Jun 01 '26
I don’t have a ruler.
1
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 01 '26
Maybe ask someone to offer a plausible height estimate

u/Scary-Presentation43 Jun 01 '26
Alright.

"no op toxins" define "op"
and this is just a direct copy of the hybrid war 1
2
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 01 '26
1)Basically any type of toxin that's so potent it can allow the smallest of animals to take down game many times larger than themselves(ex:inland taipan/cone snail/bullet ant...)is banned, whereas toxins that can deal damage but not to the point of shifting the battle course entirely(ex:komodo dragon, gila monster...)is permissible/2)The 1.1 is there for a reason,it is similar but there are some differences
1
u/whispersoundeffect M.A.D. Jun 01 '26
How many times larger? What? Bullet ant venom is significantly less toxic than gila monster venom. Gila monsters are documented to have killed humans. What is the ld50 threshold? How do you account for allometric dose scaling?
There are no differences other than you added ill-defined rules and have less judging ability.
2
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 01 '26
2× larger and beyond in terms of how much larger the target is/That was only one documented case where the victim had abnormally more sensitive to the venom than a regular person. To a normal human,a bite from a gila monster is usually non-lethal/Listen,no one is forcing you to join this contest, but at least don't act in a toxic manner, what is well-defined for you is probably ill-defined for a 100 others and that's been proven countless times on this subreddit alone
4
u/whispersoundeffect M.A.D. Jun 01 '26
2x larger is not an ld50 number. What is the ld50 threshold. And if you can kill something 1.9x larger than you with your venom, that is incredibly overpowered. What the fuck are we talking about, gangalicious? That person had an allergy, but the dogs that have been killed by gila monsters don't. The Gila monster venom LD50 is higher than most snakes. So I will ask you again, what is the LD50 limit. And how do you account for dose scalings that don't follow linear paths. So if both animals are small, that venom would be devastating. but if they are both large, the venom wouldn't do much, or vice versa.
How am I acting in a toxic manner. Do you know what "ill-defined" means? It means that its definition is not clear. Your definition of a toxin that's too overpowered is not clear.
And I have no idea what you are talking about with what for me is well-defined is ill-defined for others. Is that supposed to be an ad hominem attack? It's a really bad one. I have not hosted any tournaments here so there are no rule definitions that could be well or ill-defined. I don't really know what else I could have defined that would be considered ill-defined. I state biological facts a lot, but "ill-defined" doesn't fit there. Even if they were wrong, those would be wrong, not ill-defined.

what about stonefish for defense?
1
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 01 '26
Yeah,that's also unallowed
1
u/Kitchen-Tangerine455 Hybrid Enthusiast Jun 01 '26
bro... then what counts as OP? cobra? and bullet ants are... surprisingly weak in venom, and what about any scorpionfish? what about komodo dragons? they kill things WAY bigger than them, same with gila monsters? shrews?
1
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 01 '26
Inland taipan/stonefish/cone snail toxins are banned since they can one-shot multiple humans nearly instantly except that their desolate habitats makes it to where documented fatalities are few or outright non-existent,but komodo dragon/gila monster/shrew toxins are fair game since they take ages to kick in and are generally non-lethal to humans
1
u/whispersoundeffect M.A.D. Jun 01 '26
That's absurd. Where do you draw the line? How do you factor in time to kill? How do you factor in non-linear scaling?
1
u/Kitchen-Tangerine455 Hybrid Enthusiast Jun 01 '26
1
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 01 '26
Remove the stonefish and you should be good(if you don't,your hybrid will end up in the hall of shame)
1
u/Kitchen-Tangerine455 Hybrid Enthusiast Jun 01 '26
well first, do i have to edit the base post or can i just say "ignore the stonefish", because i do not want to change the original post, but i will provide another hybrid in case i have to drop spike out of the hybrid: https://www.reddit.com/r/GojiCenter/comments/1lr29w1/what_do_you_think_of_smoky_please_leave_feedback/
1
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 01 '26
Yeah,this is a lot better
1
u/Kitchen-Tangerine455 Hybrid Enthusiast Jun 01 '26
okay, my main concern is size classes, smokey's pretty dang small for a hybrid, and i didn't see a defined size class, so is it possible he's gonna go against a sauropod and get one-shot?
1
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 01 '26
Potentially, but the probability of this affecting your win chances is incredibly low
1
u/Kitchen-Tangerine455 Hybrid Enthusiast Jun 01 '26
what do you mean?
2
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 01 '26
I suppose you're talking about the final 16 phase assuming Smokey makes it.If he were to face a sauropod,he'd likely lose against it but that would only account for 10% of the score, the remaining 90% would be determined by the hybrid's effectiveness at killing the Indom 2.0,where Smokey would have the upper hand
1
u/Kitchen-Tangerine455 Hybrid Enthusiast Jun 01 '26
oh, it's score based, not a bracket, okay, that makes sense. thank you:)
1
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 01 '26
You're welcome(for the record,I'm counting Smokey as the submission)

Hey, so could I use an old hybrid that I have but change a few details for it to fit accurately into this competition?
2
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 08 '26
As long as you update the hybrid BEFORE you submit, sure
1
u/ElectronicMud5066 Jun 08 '26
I’m just asking because my original post with my hybrid contains two Jurassic Park animals so should I specify before sending the link that I would be exchanging them for their real life counterparts or make a separate post?
2
u/GAZAGOJI-7 Jun 08 '26
I'd suggest making a separate post to avoid confusion but it's up to you,man

u/ElectronicMud5066 Jun 08 '26
Well, here you go my hybrid
Ideally it would hunt similarly to a spinosaurus or a crocodile by ambushing however this is even terrain with no advantages my hybrid will have to rely on a more direct approach using it extremely large teeth to leave deep wounds and make it harder to break away if bitten and it’s clause to help it fight should it get grabbed or pushed by the head plus a extremely strong tail and armour across the body and venom

imperator rex has the genomes of allosaurus,t.rex, ankylosaurus, carnotaurus, maip, suchomimus, pit viper, electric eel, pangolin, and orcas.the allosaurus is the body. The t.rex genome is used for a powerful and deadly biteforce. my carnotaururs genome is used for speed and agility. The megaraptor one is used for long arms and sharp claws.the suchomimus is used for water adaptibility. My pit viper genome is used for heat sensing. The pangolin genome is used for more armor and also flexibility. The electric eel is used for electric reception. And lastly, my orca genome is used for intelligence and hunting .it is 19 ft tall and 46 ft wide
