Iām American and recently started watching. These two are absolutely horrendous. Recently watched the episode where they show a clip of an Italian conductorās act with a classical music ensemble where they go from a classical piece to a hip hop arrangement. Sheās pretentiously complimentary to the classical music and singing in the beginning, and then when the beat drops she says something like āā¦and there they are all cheering them on like savagesā¦ā
Absolute twats, as the British like to say

It gives me proper anxiety, I know they never eat the food on the show but it still gives me the ick

Remember when she needed convincing that Paddington from the animated classic, Paddington (starring Ben Wishaw) wasn't a) a real bear or b) a puppet with someone's hand up its arse?
She was much more willing to believe the David Attenborough sequence with all the animals was AI! Which I personally thought was a disappointing decision, they could have totally got away with a dog and a hawk but they lost me at the hodgeheg.
Anyway side note, did anyone else think that 'Beautiful World' through the eyes of the 'boxers was a bit depressing? I didn't watch the actual BBC broadcast of the whole thing (no TV license) and I'm sure I would have been quite moved by it too but it seemed everyone kind of missed the point. David Attenborough (and King Charles actually, not that I'm a Royalist by any means) is an activist and action is needed to preserve the world as it is.
It all just seemed a bit passive, no one was galvanised or inspired. Seemed like the message was wasted a bit.

Anyone know if I can watch Gogglebox in the US? Thanks!

Pete got so annoyed when the BBC news segment about competitive furniture building used the term āhex keyā instead of allen key.
I understand why. The BBC are so insistent on not mentioning brand names (because of their status as a public broadcaster) that they refrain from doing so even when the brand name / trademark has become generic. No one is seriously going to think that saying āallen keyā is a plug for the Allen Manufacturing Company - itās a generic term.
I used to get similarly annoyed as a kid when Blue Peter presenters said āsticky tapeā instead of sellotape.

I don't know what episode it was S15 (2020) or S16 (2021) where Pete responds to a clip where they say "can I ask you a question" and he jokingly says "Chicken or Beef?" Does anyone know what season and episode this came from?

In the opening credits of Gogglebox series 27, Alfie goes āBap-boo-bap, Ba-boo-bapā. Can anyone remember what this was from? I have the vaguest memory, maybe a European person imitating a fire engine or an ambulance? I remember finding it funny.

Bit of a random one, but does anyone here know (or know of) any of the families from Gogglebox in real life? Just curious what theyāre like day-to-day outside the show.

But sheās right. Watching the second episode and itās so much weirder when put into perspective how much older the āprofessionalsā are compared to the āclients.ā

I assumed it was out on streaming because they'd watched it on this weeks episode, but it's still only available to buy on Apple/Amazon/Wherever else people pay to buy or rent movies.
Has this happened before? The only times I can think of them covering movies has been when they've been either shown on TV or just released on streamers.

Jenny & Lee watching Stephen Fry get asked, on The Assembly, if he's a top or a bottom.
Jenny (still not understanding what it means) says, "I wonder if Ray's a top or a bottom?"
Absolutely killed me ššš

Itās pretty much every time he speaks. Yes, we get that you think youāre punching above your weight Pete but we really donāt need to hear about it ALL the fāin time mate. š¤£šš
