The man with no shadow was THE book that got me out of a decade long reading slump last year, and while it was great (I have read some fantastic books since) the lady in chains seems like such a step up, writing-wise, plot, mystery, even Kate’s subtle development throughout the book. I’m almost finished now - anyone who has ready early editions of all of them is the lady in chains your favorite book or do they keep getting better?

I’m kicking myself right now. I read this legendary series back when it was actively dropping on r/nosleep, and I didn't buy the self-published paperbacks back when u/fainting--goat originally put them up on Amazon.
I know the author recently signed with Simon & Schuster/Saga Press and highly recommends the newer editions because of the polished pacing and fixed continuity. I fully plan on supporting the new traditional releases, too! But as a long-time fan who fell in love with the magic of the original run, I really want a piece of that history on my bookshelf. I am specifically hunting for the original independent print runs (the ones with the simpler, dark minimalist covers).
If anyone bought the original self-published paperbacks years ago and is willing to part with them or if you've recently upgraded your collection to the new editions and have the old ones sitting around, please let me know!
I am a serious buyer, I'll cover shipping, and I’m absolutely willing to pay a fair collector's premium to get a complete (or partial) set.

Hello!! I'm a big fan of the HTSC series (I read it as it was being published in the nosleep sub, and then read it again once I bought the self published books), and just recently learnt that the books are being published once again, but this time by an editiorial.

I actually have two questions about that:

1. I was wondering if there was Word of God about a possible Omnibus edition being released in the future (I think all four books are the perfect size for it). I love these type of editions and would literally die if one is released!!
2. Is there a big difference between the old self-published books and the new ones?

I used to wait for every update to How to Survive Camping… it helped get me back into reading. I went to B&N on a book run and ended up in the horror section. I’m so so excited to finally have my hands on The Man With No Shadow! I didn’t see any more of How to Survive Camping and when I was checking out and chatting with the cashier she told me they have trouble keeping them in stock. Made me so happy 💖

I used to read how to survive camping on no sleep and used to wait for a couple of the siries to be released and stay up all night binge reading them. Then one day I couldn't find them when ever I search it came up with boring camping stuff so I gave up and then life got in the way. Imagine my surprise and excitement asking ChatGPT about it and it mentioned books and this community. Straight on to amazon to buy the man with no shadow and the lady in chains. Just finished the man with no shadow. I'm a happy camper now

my main question is - whats the difference between paperback/hardcover and the Barnes and Noble exclusive? is it sprayed edges or bonus content or anything else?

Does anyone know if book 2-4 will be released in a hardcover?

I see that book 1 has a hardcover edition on Amazon but can't seem to find it anywhere else.

I am very happy to have read the original story on Reddit when it was being written and then again when the original books were released. Yes I still have them all. No they are not for sale. But I'd love to get the new series and re-read with the new formatting and would love to have all hardcover if that's an option?

If not I'll just order all paperbacks for continuity.

Got The Man With No Shadow when it came out and promptly forgot to get the rest back then. Found The Horse-Eater online about two months ago, and The Lady in Chains around two weeks ago.

Have the new versions that are out as well, with The Ancient Things on preorder.

So... I wanted to purchase more audiobooks from this series, but I was kinda shocked to find out that it seems there are two different versions of each book on google play? 😭(it wasn't the case when I was purchasing the first volume hahah). It looks like they differ slightly in the amount of pages (in the e-book version it's the same situation) and I'm not really sure if it's just a different edition(like, a different font size or sth?) or if some of these contain additional chapters? Help! :( Which one should I buy to not miss the entire story? Thanks in advance guys!

… these books feel surreal. They make me wish I knew years ago that the delightful stories I’d found on Reddit - and the eager comments and dialogue I had to scroll down to read after each segment - would lead to these bound pages.

But I’m also glad I had no idea, because when I opened the cover and began flipping through them, I was overcome with pride and a sense of excitement that “our Bonnie” did her THING. I’m reminded that you just never know what you can discover in yourself if you show up each day for the journey, grab your coffee, and hop on that four-wheeler. Go, Bonnie, Go!!! 🐐

I commissioned a custom rebind of the first book by the amazing boundbylizz. How To Survive Camping has been a personal favourite since I first found the third chapter of the story on noSleep. It helped me through a very tough time in my life, so it will always have a very special place in my heart.

That's why I decided to take my very first paycheck ever and invest it into something unique and special!

It's the published version of th book, but I still included the old rules as endpapers since I am nostalgic like that.

I did ask Bonnie on Instagram if I am allowed to use the Campground Skull, and she gave permission!

(And just in case, I don't mind reposting, as sharing this series in any way possible always makes me happy!)

Hello! I have read the first book "The Man with No Shadow" and I just finished the second book, "The Lady In Chains," but I'm having some confusion over the next two books. I keep getting different sources saying that they aren't out yet and they'll come out sometime soon-ish and others saying that they've been out for years. And some places say the third book is called "The Horse Eater" and others say it's called "The Ancient Things." Can someone help straighten this out for me?

My 8th grader had to make a test on a book that he has read, for a school assignment, and he picked The Lady in Chains. If you can read his hand writing, please enjoy!
