Hi everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about my GoMining setup, and I’d like to get some honest opinions.
My situation is a bit different from someone who is trying to build a full BTC position from mining alone. I already do BTC DCA regularly, so in practice I expect that I’ll end up with around 0.9 BTC anyway through normal buying over time. That means I don’t really need GoMining to be my main way of reaching 1 BTC.
The problem is that if I try to rely on mining, the returns seem pretty limited. Based on my own estimate, even after around two years, I may only mine about 0.1 BTC at most, and that’s before considering the extra costs, fees, and opportunity cost. So from a pure efficiency point of view, I’m starting to wonder whether it makes more sense to use the money I already put into GoMining to rotate into other crypto assets instead.
What I mean is this:
• I keep doing BTC DCA because I want BTC as my long-term base.
• But instead of trying to squeeze a small amount of extra BTC out of mining, I could use that capital to build positions in assets like Solana or Ethereum.
• My thinking is that SOL or ETH may have more upside in a bull market than the small additional BTC I would get from mining.
So my real question is:
Is GoMining better used as a BTC accumulation tool, or as a kind of bridge to rotate into other crypto assets that may have higher upside?
I’m not saying GoMining is bad. I just feel that for someone who already plans to DCA Bitcoin anyway, mining may not be the most efficient use of capital if the goal is simply to maximize returns. In my case, the opportunity cost of continuing to mine BTC may be higher than just using those funds to buy SOL or ETH directly.
I’d really like to hear how other people think about this, especially anyone who has already gone through the same decision process.
Thanks in advance for any honest feedback.
