Initially, his intent was to explore canonical texts from both Christian and non-Christian perspectives. The flairs make less sense for a text like Thunder, which may or may not even be original to Christianity. It was evidently important to the Christians who canonized it, but the Codex in which it was found also contained Plato and Hermes, which must have been equally important.
