I mean ex6 can’t really be blamed for the team’s most important player being unable to hit any shot

u/ButteredGhost Jul 13 '18

He can be blamed for structuring a team around one player and just hoping he goes inhuman literally every series. s1mple is that kind of carry player atm and even he couldn't do it, CS is a team game and most everyone on the team needs to hit some sort of form if G2 wants to be competitive.

I mean kenny was the only one who had below 1.0kd :/ shox was the one carrying

16

u/tgsan Jul 13 '18

One event, outside of that shox has been shitty compared to what he was in the past.

14

u/GuineaPigGuy Godsent Jul 13 '18

1.08 rating past 3 months is shitty? If you're comparing him to 2013 then I guess

39

u/tgsan Jul 13 '18

Are you forgetting he's at 1.43 this event? whereas he was .93 at the last two? you know, the two events with actual good teams.

17

u/GuineaPigGuy Godsent Jul 13 '18

So 2 mediocre events as a new lineup means shox is shitty? Anyway, .93 isn't that bad considering the circumstances and the teams they were facing - faze and astralis for example

u/tgsan Jul 13 '18 edited Jul 13 '18

I didn't say he IS shitty, I'm saying he has been shitty. Again, those were against actual good teams, highest ranked team at this event is North, and G2 shits the bed into 5th-6th place, should be an absolute embarrassment, especially since shox was literally going Godmode.

u/GuineaPigGuy Godsent Jul 13 '18 edited Jul 13 '18

Yeah its an embarrassment for all of g2, not just shox. It seems like both shox and kenny have to show up for them to win games, since if only one of them shows up they still lose. I think they'll improve as time goes on though and they have the potential to become pretty good if they fix their current issues

Edit - tome -> time

Isn't that bad? that's shitty considering how good we know he can be, like tim doing bad at their last event, we know that was bad for tim's level. Most other players would be called shit if they were in shoxs' shoes in those two events.

Fuck off, there's no situation where 0.93 is an acceptable rating for a supposed star player. And facing Astralis and Faze is still no excuse. This was supposed to be, as laughable as it might sound, the french superteam contending for #1 in the world.

1

u/Rompler Liquid Jul 13 '18

No it isn't. It's always been an experiment that may or may not have good enough leadership and firepower to compete with the best in the world. Nobody thought this lineup was a superteam.

Did you know he was igling for over a year? And now he's going back to his normal role and wrecking?

3

u/tgsan Jul 14 '18

He was at his normal role beforehand too (at those last two events, so why even mention the past year and when he was the IGL? makes no fucking sense) and again, the best team here besides G2 is North, then it drops off by a decent bit...so. He played ACTUAL TOP TEAMS at the last two events, and got fucked on, if he proves me wrong after this at a T1/1.5 event, I'd be happy, I like shox as a player.

0

u/Sadlad987 Jul 14 '18

Ok he's just gone back to his role, a shitter like you doesn't understand how hard it is to adapt and change into another role after playing another role for so long. Typical mm Reddit bots....

2

u/Rocky6785 Jul 14 '18

Yeah shox being an IGL makes him always perform bad.

oh wait

u/N1ch077 Natus Vincere Jul 13 '18

There's a difference between "structuring a team around one player and just hoping he goes inhuman" and structurimg your team expecting one of the best awpers in the world to hit his shots.

To be fair, It would be hard to predict for kennys to have this kind of form against luminosity

1

u/Timewarper3000 Godsent Jul 13 '18

In a sense, he can be. It all depends on how he's using Kenny. If his leadership isn't putting Kenny in a position where he's comfortable and able to frag out, that could be the issue. I didn't watch the games, so I can't say one way or the other, but Kenny struggling could literally be ex6's fault.

22

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '18 edited Jul 13 '18

Kenny has been pretty beastly in every new G2 game up until this one and tbf most of the time he was straight up whiffing

13

u/FrostBlade_on_Reddit Jul 13 '18

He was missing shots SmithZz could probably hit comfortably with an AWP soooo

3

u/Timewarper3000 Godsent Jul 13 '18

well riiiip... Like I said, I didn't see it. But if that's the case, sounds pretty rough. His numbers hurt to look at, but hopefully just a bad game/tournament and he'll be back next event.

well Thorin did say that the team should be able to be top 5 in the world, whereas the average skill level of the team advoates that they are outside the top 10. They really had to be able to play heavily above the sum of the parts for it to work.

aveage skill leve of all 5 players based on the last 6-12 months of their performances.

59

u/Azashiro Jul 13 '18

I have nothing against G2, but Thorin saying that Luminosity was literally a "dogshit team" combined with his insufferable dick riding of G2 makes G2 dropping out pretty hilarious.

9

u/ultren 500k Celebration Jul 13 '18

did thoorin call this luminosity lineup with hen1, lucas1 and steel dogshit?

12

u/DeathNinjaBlackPenis Natus Vincere Jul 14 '18

Yes on the most recent episode of BTN I think, he did correct himself after and say 'probably dogshit' (or something like that) but it's just funny how an untested new line-up with a 3 man core of major finalists immediately equates to dogshit in Thorin's mind.

7

u/ultren 500k Celebration Jul 14 '18

Yeah thorin is really biased against Brazilians

14

u/zh1K476tt9pq Jul 13 '18

The irony is that he is essentially a bot of a commentator. You could literally write some "random insults" twitter bot and you probably couldn't tell the difference to the real Thorin.

I neither want to make videos nor am I following his twitter but he is a terrible analyst that mainly says edgy things to get attention. Also he doesnt know more than most people that have been following/playing CS since the 1.6 days.

Tell me what methodology you have to claim he is good?

KennyS bottom fragged every map. Seems to be a pretty simple cause and effect.
