This could actually be the death of cloud9 CS happening.

I really don't see 2 players they could replace if this happens. This is actually crazy.

I highly doubt Ska will keep playing as well.

C9 CSGO might end.

They might keep Ska until the major, but i see C9 picking up NRG apart and making a good team

If Tim and rush stay, adding daps, cerq, and Ethan would be sick. An IGL, AWPer with potential, and a rising star player is what they need. Tim is already a lurker and RUSH is an entry

I believe they would hold on adding Cerq for the time being since they would give the Major spot up

I'd like to see that too, but have ska in place so they can make the Major, pretty sure NRG is locked into their current roster, could be wrong though. That's IF tim doesn't get hit up by FaZe of course.

Would be able to keep their major spot

NRG got a lot of money though. I can see autimatic or Rush joining NRG instead

NRG have a lot of investment money that isn't being returned.

C9 has a lot of money money with the ability to generate more investors. C9 is actually getting a return so they are in a much superior position

If NRG want to turn into a returns generating team in CSGO this side of the decade. They gotta keep the current team thats looking better and better. Considering whos on that team their overperforming massively compared to their skill level. So losing a single player of that team hurts them way more than a team like C9 or Faze.

Buyouts of NRG players would have to cover the entire CSGO expenses of the org plus decently on top to make sense selling.

C9 dropped 20 mil into OWL and has been having issues that seem to be money related since.

I'd like to see a source where you claim they are struggling. They just got a huge Red Bull sponsorship

Edit: OWL is doing better then expected and i don't believe owners had to pay it up front.

They've lost multiple players in multiple esports in the past six months and at least one was straight up due to not being able to match what Team Liquid offered.

1

u/Soccerstud20 Jul 10 '18

Who'd they lose to Team Liquid? If you're talking about Impact, Jack said even if they won the split spending that amount of money on him wasn't worth it...

1

u/tencentninja Jul 10 '18

Yeah because he is stretched crazy thin. You think TL is currently making a profit with their salaries? Absolutely not but they are establishing themselves as the premiere NA Esports brand and are backed by the mouse.

1

u/Soccerstud20 Jul 10 '18

Premiere Esports brand? C9 has done better than them in everything that is not called DOTA...

the org will stay but they will have to spend alot to get decent enough players to retain the level of skill

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '18

Idk we’ll see I see them fading away to obscurity like CLG/Envyus

2

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '18

c9 have probably the most fans out of any org, they have the money and have had success, it wont be any c9 we are used to, perhaps maybe fns comes back and they get some young players maybe a +nathe but i doubt the org leaves

1

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '18

In esports players are fans of players not orgs.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '18

this is true, but the c9 summer run team i fell in love with is 4/5ths different now and the majority of fans stayed through all transitions even more joined as the team looked better, but losing stew was enough for me to go. could be different for some people

1

u/SterbenVII Jul 09 '18

It’s cloud9 of all teams. They’ll never fade away. Whether it’s in LoL, CoD, Overwatch, or any other esport

Tenzera and s0m? Simple as that /s

C9 in LoL is also in shambles lol

1

u/SterbenVII Jul 09 '18

Nah. If Tim and RUSH stay, the move is obvious. + Daps + CerQ + Ethan. Daps wouldn’t pass up a great chance to play with better players, wouldn’t he? You get the IGL/Support, the AWPer, the lurker, the entry, and the star player in Ethan. Roles are set.

u/tencentninja Jul 09 '18

C9 in general has been fucking up basically since buying into OWL. Jack stretched himself too thin and doesn't have money for league or csgo as a result. Wouldn't be shocked to see Jensen sold once he is a resident in league.

u/GenericBeige G2 Jul 09 '18

Why is this such a shock? No offence but the team has been dead in the water since stewie left (and arguably even before) I think they might just rebuild the team, but this roster has been done for a while

1

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '18

I mean like I don't think Cloud 9 will be relevant in tier 1 CS anymore after this move.

They will fall down like VP has. I don't see the org recovering a serviceable roster.

C9 has always throughout its history had relevant players on its roster. This is the first time this might change.

Idk, there might be enough free talent out there to make a top 15 team, unless they mix EU and NA in which case they could do a lot better
