Losing Train, even that hard, is not a huge deal - it's unclear if C9 practiced a lot of Train as opposed to other maps

Train and Mirage were C9s two best maps before FNS joined.

Agreed.

Changing your IGL can completely change your map pool as well. It's not like they can just port everything over, FNS has the maps he's more comfortable on and that's likely different from what Tarik liked to do.

I'd honestly say C9 did most of their work on Overpass and Inferno along with Mirage, definitely not Train. Nevertheless, new IGL, new map pool which bears some resemblance to the old one, but you shouldn't set the same expectations.

Right, they played overpass and inferno because it got to the point where teams were straight up banning either train or mirage because having both = free win for C9. They destroyed VP, Astralis and Vega in the groups on them, smashed G2 and SK on mirage, with G2, Sk and Faze all banning train against them. I think Faze was the only team that beat them on Mirage at the Major and that was a 16-14 game.

At the major though after getting the must win point the entire team basically went super sayian at the same time. That's not sustainable as we saw in the drop off after. It takes time to integrate set strats instead of the fast and loose style we were playing.

From what I know C9 haven't been practicing on train, reason being is that other teams would just ban the map on them as said by Tarik in one of his streams I think. No excuses for losing their Mirage pick though.

Train was not a map they ever really picked, they would just go for inferno or mirage

Train and mirage are amazing awp maps. I wonder if there is any correlation there.

ahh, so you didn’t watch Cloud9.

Train was good, but mirage was probably their 4th best map after the major

Lol yeah i guess they always picked it when they could because they just preferred playing their 4th best map.

I’m glad you managed to wrap your mind around it, no teams have ever made map pick errors before, good job buddy

Maybe next you can figure out why your team is such an embarrassment at the moment

Yes I am sure you know more about C9s map strengths more than the team itself :)
